In wine, truth. In
vineyard… mystery.

Blurb

Local police summon retired CTO Geraldine Thorn from her
Austin lake house to Kitsch, Texas, the small town where she grew up, when her beloved
Aunt Tilda is found dead at her vineyard home, presumably from a slip in the bath. Upon
arrival, Gerry discovers Tilda’s eclectic group of friends—including a much, much younger
lover—and rivals. When they realize Tilda’s slip wasn’t an accident, Gerry enlists the help of
a handsome Texas Ranger with secrets of his own.

Excerpt

“Howdy. Ms. Geraldine Thorn? This is Sgt. Hale Alexander
with the Texas Ranger Division Company F.” Hale’s voice was a pleasantly raspy tenor with a
thick East Texas drawl. “The Arguello County PD requested my assistance with a mysterious
death. A Lt. Klaus gave me this number. He said, and I quote, ‘May you have the joy of her,’
and washed his hands of this affair. Don’t think you’ve got a fan, ma’am.”

“I’m friendlier when I’m not upset about my aunt dying.”
Gerry felt a pang of frustration, but she appreciated that this guy sounded like he’d be
reasonable. “I appreciate you looking into this. Things aren’t adding up.”

“Well, ma’am, this is highly irregular, involving the Rangers
in this kind of thing, but I’m on my way to Kitsch now from Waco, and we’ll see what there is
to see. The autopsy report had some discrepancies, so your gut may hold true. Don’t go
quotin’ me on that, all right?” Hale cussed under his breath, and the sound of a car horn
interrupted their conversation.

Sounding calmer, he resumed, “Anyhow, I’m gonna have to
view the body before she’s laid to rest, if that’s all right with you, ma’am. I understand
you’re gonna wanna get closure, put her in the ground soon’s you can, but this is
important.”

“Of course. I just came from the funeral home, I can let
them know to hold off picking her up.” She paused and looked up and down the street. “Is
there any way I could join you? I just want to… I think if I saw her with my own eyes it would
help me wrap my head around what happened.”

Discrepancies. That sounded… positive? Not exactly that,
but it was nice to hear that she wasn’t totally losing it. “If she’d had too much wine and
slipped in the tub— that would make sense, but opioids? I just… and there’s a young man,
and… there are things that don’t add up. I want to do right by my aunt.”

“That’s admirable, ma’am. But are you sure you wanna see
your aunt in that state? She’s been autopsied, and she’ll be nekkid as a jaybird on that slab.
It’s gonna stay with you.” Hale didn’t shoot her down, which was something. If anything, he
sounded supportive. There was a steadying warmth in his tone even over the
phone.

“She wouldn’t like my delicate sensibilities getting in the
way of finding out what happened if someone did this to her.” Seeing Tilda’s body wasn’t
something she was looking forward to, but she needed to know. “I’ll be all right.”

“All right then, ma’am. Text me your address to this
number, and I’ll swing ’round and nab you. You’re not gonna wanna drive after. I’m an hour
out.” Hale’s drawl was comforting. While Gerry wasn’t really a small-town girl, she had a
feeling Hale’s good ole boy persona would play well in Kitsch, and no one was going to turn
away a Ranger’s inquiries.

“I’m already downtown. I can…” She looked around and
then shrugged to head to her car. “I’ll just go home, and text you the address. It’s on a
vineyard, so it’s a little out of town, but I imagine an investigator shouldn’t have too hard a
time finding it. Thanks.”

An Olympic hero faces his longest run – to make up for the past.

Blurb

Alex Schaefer is a sports journalist and commentator at the top of his game. He hosts a successful weekly podcast has just written the biography of a world class football player. With his career on an upward trajectory, Alex has never been busier. There is no time in his life for love or romance.

Ethan Bower was used to success. As a British sprinter, he won a host of silver and gold medals at the Olympics, European and Commonwealth championships, and spent over a decade at the top. Persistent injuries brought Ethan’s career to an abrupt halt in his mid-thirties. Now he has to start over again. Trying to get his foot in the door of athletics commentary and presenting isn’t easy.

Ethan and Alex have history. Eight years ago, at the height of Ethan’s success, Alex was chosen to ghost write his autobiography. An experience they would both rather forget. Ethan hated what Alex wrote about him; a fact he’s made very public. When Ethan attends the launch of Alex’s latest book, they meet again for the first time in years and something becomes apparent to both of them – they have each improved with age. Now in their thirties, they are older and more mature.

Can they put the past behind them and their ambitions for the future to take a chance on each other now?

Excerpt

Alex held back a moment, observing. Ethan was taller than he remembered, and with the increased bulk across his shoulders, he had a very statuesque physique. His clothes looked well made, and he wore them well. Something stirred within Alex, an excitement that caused his whole body to tingle and concentrate in his groin. Ethan Bower roused him in a way he would never have thought possible.

Alex knew that attraction would die in seconds if Ethan was the same bullish prick he used to know.

Only one way to find out.

“Hello, Ethan,” he said, stepping up beside him. “It’s been a long time.”

As Ethan turned to look at him, there was uncertainty on his face just for a second before his mouth spread into a wide grin. There were short dimples which cut into his cheeks when he smiled—Alex had forgotten about those—and he had a day’s worth of stubble on his chin, which suited him a lot. Any more would give away his natural ginger colouring, which the careful highlights in his hair tried to disguise.

“Alex,” he said, shoving out his hand. “Congratulations. I had no idea you were involved in the book until I arrived.”

He pumped Alex’s hand harder than necessary. Over-compensating? Nervous? Ethan had never struck him as a man who suffered from social anxiety, but the way he grabbed his drink off the bar and knocked off a third of it in one go suggested that maybe he was.

Or he’s pissed off to see me and too polite to say so.

“You’re looking good. I was sorry to hear about all the injuries. I thought you’d be good for one more round of medals.”

Ethan shrugged. “They come to all of us. You can’t push your body so hard for all those years and not expect consequences. It would be nice to have added another Olympics to the tally, but it is what is. I can’t do anything about it now.”

Alex’s gaze was drawn to Ethan’s stunning green eyes. Shit. How could he have forgotten about those? They were mesmerizing. There had definitely been a change in his face since they’d seen each other last. There were deep lines around his eyes and the corners of his mouth and there could even be a touch of grey in the hair around his ears. Alex realised he had known Ethan when he was still a boy. The person who stood in front of him now was all man.

“It’s nice to run into you after all this time,” Alex said. “I had no idea who was coming tonight.”

Those green eyes looked deep into his. “Are you kidding? I won’t miss it. This is going to the biggest sports book of the year. Everyone is interested in Fernando’s story. Not just here, but worldwide. You’re onto a real winner with this one.”

Alex shrugged. “It’s his story, not mine. I just helped to put it on the page for him.”

“Did Fernando seek you out personally? I kind of think he must have. None of those straight dude football writers could tell it with the authenticity of another gay man.”

“He did. For that very reason, I think. He felt more comfortable talking to a gay writer. The publishers were torn. They wanted either a much bigger name or an anonymous ghost writer who would do what they were told and wouldn’t ask for credit.”

Ethan gave a soft laugh. “You mean like my book?”

“Those were different times.”

“I guess so. And we were different people. I know I was.”

Could this be true? Was Ethan admitting he’d been an arsehole in his younger days? “Everyone is different in their twenties. I don’t think we really grow up until we’re around thirty. Look at Fernando. He was twenty-nine when he finally came out, despite knowing he was gay all of his life.”

Ethan nodded and took another sip of his drink. “Everything turns out all right in the end, I suppose.”

To embrace the future and
find love, both men must face the darkness of their pasts.

Blurb

A man torn between what his soul wants and what he
believes is expected of him, Scheredin D’Vaire is still fiercely loyal to his family. Scheredin is
one of the few remaining warlocks and spends his days aiding his cousins in running the
D’Vaire sanctuary. In his free time, Scheredin loves gaming. With the tap of a few keys,
Scheredin can lose himself in another world.

Kieran Tarinthfenix is a phoenix shifter whose tribe likes to
forget that elf blood also runs through their veins. A driven man, Kieran takes his hobby of
gaming and learns to craft titles of his own. He hands his income to his chieftain despite
Kieran’s lack of respect for a man who forces his people to take part in an ancient but cruel
ceremony every year.

Scheredin and Kieran meet online and quickly grow into
gaming buddies. For years, they are content with an online relationship and the anonymity it
provides. When Scheredin decides to meet Kieran in person, they discover they’re mates,
but there are secrets between them. To find lasting love, both men will have to throw away
the past and seize their destinies.

Excerpt

A product of elven blood, even though the Tarinthfenix
refused to admit it, Kieran had lacked any kind of sexuality until that moment. His breath
caught, knowing that inside the shop was his mate. Stepping into the bright space, Kieran
scanned the customers, and his silver gaze with hints of purple locked on a short man with
dark hair and a light goatee.

His expression was one of shock, and there was little else
to read in his heavily lashed green eyes. In his hand was a stunning lily of blue and black,
which brought a smile to Kieran’s face. Somehow, it made perfect sense that the man he’d
become instant friends with all those years ago was the other half of his soul.

Crossing the distance that separated them, Kieran’s grin
grew as he delightedly considered the handsome man still staring at him blankly. “Hi,
Scheredin.”

“Hi, Keladriel. I’m Brexton,” said the man at Scheredin’s
side, who resembled him a great deal.

“A pleasure to meet you, Brexton,” Kieran replied
immediately and flicked his attention back to Scheredin.

Brexton nudged Scheredin’s shoulder.

“Say hello,” he murmured to Scheredin, whose mouth
snapped shut.

“Hi, Keladriel,” Scheredin whispered.

“Crazy, right?” Kieran asked. “Makes me kind of mad. We
should’ve planned this a long time ago.”

“What does that mean?” demanded a broad-shouldered
man with navy eyes and soft brown curls.

“Keladriel is my mate, Brogan,” Scheredin told the tall
guy.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” yelled a man around
Scheredin’s height as his hands rose to grab fistfuls of his blond ringlets, catching the
attention of several customers.

“You can calm down,” Brogan growled. “I already know
you’re going to give me shit for the rest of eternity.”

“Hi, I’m Dra’Kaedan,” the blond said, shouldering his way
between Scheredin and Brexton to wave. “I was so excited I nearly forgot and tried to shake
your hand.”

Kieran was seconds away from refuting Dra’Kaedan’s
assumption that he was an elf, despite his ears and attire, when the name hit him. “Like,
Grand Warlock Dra’Kaedan D’Vaire?”

Although he wasn’t allowed to explore the outside world, it
fascinated Kieran, and he’d often read about the famous people within the Council. As far as
Kieran could tell from the online newspapers, there were few families as reputable and
powerful as the D’Vaires, so it made sense that people would name their kids after the royal
family.

“He is Grand Warlock Dra’Kaedan D’Vaire,” Scheredin
remarked. “We’re all D’Vaires. The tall guy behind him is his mate, Grand Duke Brogan
D’Vairedraconis. At the table next to you pretending not to listen are Coven Lord Bridger
D’Vaire and Coven Lord Hadley D’Vaire. They’re here to protect me in case you turned out to
be a homicidal maniac planning to butcher me in a coffee shop or whatever other nefarious
idea Brogan had for what might happen today.”

“Why does everyone always make me sound crazy?”
Brogan demanded.

“Please, you do that all by yourself, Mate,” Dra’Kaedan
muttered.

“Do you follow all elven traditions even though you aren’t a
part of the Council?” Brexton asked, cocking his head.

Kieran wasn’t fond of lies, but there was no hesitation in
his soul over his matebond. Although they had plenty to learn about each other, Kieran
knew Scheredin’s character and was wildly attracted to him. He was ready to explore his
new sexuality with the attractive man studying him, and Kieran understood that their belief
that he was an elf named Keladriel could help speed up the process of binding them
together for eternity.

Not only would Kieran not have to wait to be with
Scheredin, but he could also finally walk away from the Tarinthfenix without guilt. Fate
wanted Kieran to be with Scheredin, and he was fully on board with her plan. In fact, in
Kieran’s eyes, she couldn’t possibly have done better. Kieran’s gift was his closest friend and
a real, honest-to-Fate warlock to boot.

If there was anything that fascinated Kieran more than the
Council, it was magic, and Scheredin likely had plenty. While building the foundation of the
most important relationship of his life with dishonesty wasn’t the smartest choice, Kieran
would explain who he truly was and give Scheredin his real, non-elf name as soon as they
were mated. It was perhaps not the best way to speed up the timeline, but Kieran could find
no patience, and his beast was egging him on.

Instead of answering Brexton’s question with a complete
falsehood, Kieran went with his gut. “I’d like to have a mating ceremony as soon as possible
if you’re okay with that, Scheredin.”

“I will honor your customs, Keladriel. It’s not like we’re total
strangers.”

It rankled both man and phoenix to have his other half call
him by the wrong name, even though it was the one he went by in the game, but Kieran set
the outrage aside and smiled again. “Thank you.”

Ollie are enjoying peaceful days and continuing to build on their relationship. Meanwhile,
Milly—Bryn’s sister—and her wife, Grace, have always wanted children, and as planned,
Milly starts trying to conceive with Ollie’s help. Bryn never thought he’d become a parent or

doing his best to open his heart to the fruitful gifts that life can bestow.

Then circumstances take a turn, and Bryn is left holding the
reins of an exhausted and stressed-out family. With Moritz working non-stop at a local law
firm, Ollie’s panic disorder rearing its ugly head, and the addition of a little bundled-up
blessing who had a rough start coming into the world, suddenly everyone is relying on Bryn
to lead. Yet Bryn’s intense self-doubt leaves him feeling like he isn’t anywhere near good
enough—or strong enough—to be all that his two men and their fragile baby need.

Excerpt from First Kiss

“Hello?”

Josh rushed into the hallway and ploughed into Charlie.

“Umph!” Charlie dropped his bag with a thump, then slid
his arms around Josh’s waist, one reaching up to rub his back. “Hi, J,” he whispered.

Josh didn’t say anything. Charlie hadn’t realised exactly
how much he had missed him until he’d come back through the door. The same for Josh if
how tight he was holding him was anything to go by. Josh squeezed him tighter. A throat
cleared but they ignored it. Josh burrowed his face into Charlie’s neck. “I love you,” he
whispered so quietly, Charlie wasn’t sure if he’d heard right.

Charlie’s body started shaking. Josh pulled back a little to
look at him, and Charlie realised he was crying. Josh cupped his cheeks, wiping the tears
with his fingers. “Is that okay?”

Charlie nodded as more tears fell.

“Why have you made my boy cry?” Josh got pushed aside
as their mum took his place, pulling Charlie into a hug. “Are you okay, sweetheart? What did
he say to upset you?” His mum looked at Josh, eyes narrowed. “You better have a good
explanation, young man.”

Josh straightened, looked her in the eye and said, “I told
him I loved him.”

There was a beat of silence then his mum burst into tears,
hugging them both tight, mumbling words he couldn’t understand. He was hoping they

were happy tears too. But he wasn’t sure.

His mum pulled away after a minute and pulled them into
the living room. She pushed them both down onto the sofa and she sat on the coffee table
facing them. She looked at Josh. “You love him?”

Josh nodded. “With everything I am.” He wrapped his arm
around Charlie’s shoulder.

His mum looked at Charlie. “What about you?”

Charlie nodded. “I love him.” Then he turned to Josh, “I
love you.” A lone tear dripped down his cheek, which Josh wiped away.

His mum clasped her hands to her mouth and laughed.
“I’m so happy for you both.” She looked at them tenderly for a moment, then her face
became serious. “You’re going to have many problems, my beautiful boys. There will be
people out there,” she pointed out the window, “who will try to bring you down with their
hate. You must stay strong. Believe in each other.

About the Author

I am Elouise East but feel free
to call me Elli. I write sweet and steamy connections in gay romance. I also touch on taboo
stories under the name Elouise R East.

Books that tell the stories
where friendship and family are the focal point – be it blood family or chosen – is very
important to me. That’s why I include a variety of personalities, talents, ages, situations and
abilities as I believe a story needs, or a character needs. I want my characters to be real, to
be relatable, to be free to have whatever views they tell me they have. And trust me, most
of the time, I do not have
any say in the matter!

My characters come to life on
the page for me as well as my readers. Their stories unfold in front of me, and I have very
little input into how they want to be shown. Just like real life, the lives of my characters
change with every choice, every interaction and every conversation. And I wouldn’t have it
any other way.

I write books that are
emotionally realistic, even if liberties are taken with other aspects of my stories. I don’t
know any other way to write. It comes from deep inside.

Who am I? A single parent to
two children who make life worth living. An avid reader who still devours every book she can
get her hands on. A student of learning about any subject that takes her fancy. An author of
books she would read herself. And a romantic at heart who loves anything cheesy.

Mac’s three goals: keep
Tony safe, catch the killer, don’t come out.

Blurb

Tony Hart’s a dedicated teacher, though he’s not much
older than his high-school students. Between his profession, a few good friends, and plenty
of books, he’s content with his quiet life. Then the murdered body of another teacher falls
into the elevator at his feet, and Tony’s life becomes all too exciting.

Jared MacLean is a homicide detective, widowed
father to a young daughter, and deeply in the closet. But from the moment he meets Tony’s
blue eyes in that high school hallway, Mac can’t help wanting this man in his life. Mac’s not
out ― can’t afford to be out ― but Tony makes him want the impossible.

Mac isn’t the only one with their eyes on Tony,
though. As the murderer tries to cover their tracks, Mac has to work fast or lose Tony,
permanently.

(This is a rerelease of the 2011 original with
light editing.)

Excerpt

Tony said after a pause. “You’re not the only person trapped in the closet. All those guys in
the military, stuck with don’task, don’t tell; other guys with macho jobs or religious families.
Lots of guys are doing it.”

“But you don’t want to,” Mac acknowledged.

“It wouldn’t be my first choice, no. I’ve put a lot of effort and pain into being out so I
wouldn’t have to hide. But I do want you, and I know that comes on your terms.”

“They’re not my terms,” Mac protested.

“Whatever. It comes with being secret and hiding whatever we have together. The question
is whether that’s better than not having anything together.”

Mac wanted to shout that of course it was, but he bit his tongue.

Tony looked at him hard. “The other question you have to ask yourself is whether
you want to take the risk. No matter how careful we are, you may get caught. A
wrong look, a note in your pocket, someone tracking down your cell in an emergency; there

are lots of ways this could come out in the open. It’s not a problem for me. But is that a risk
that you want to take?”

Mac opened his mouth to say yes, and hesitated. How have I come this far this
fast?
He’d been willing to cut away anything in his life that risked his daughter Anna
or the job. And sex had never been that important. But this wasn’t about sex; it was about
Tony. And Tony had somehow become too important to cut away. It might hurt less to
give up breathing.

“There’s never been anyone I could go to, to just be myself. I’ve never had a lover, or even a
fuck-buddy. I thought I could live without that, but now… I don’t want to. Even with Mai, I
wasn’t… I couldn’t relax completely. With you, I’m just me.”

“Yeah.” Tony smiled at him. “That’s part of being gay, you know. It’s not just who you want in
bed. It’s who your emotional relationships are with the other twenty-three hours of the day,
whose arms you want around you when life hands you shit.”

About the Author

I get asked about my name a
lot. It’s not something exotic, though. “Kaje” is pronounced just like “cage” – it’s an old
nickname, and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I’ve been writing far longer than I care to
admit (*whispers – forty-five years*), although mostly for my own entertainment. I write
M/M romance, often with added mystery, fantasy, historical, SciFi, paranormal… I also have
Young Adult short stories (some released under the pen name Kira Harp.)

After decades of writing just
for fun, my husband convinced me I really should submit something, somewhere. My first
professionally published book, Life Lessons, came out in May 2011. I now have a good-sized
backlist in ebooks and print, both free and professionally published, including Amazon
bestseller
The Rebuilding Year and Rainbow Award Best Mystery-Thriller Tracefinder: Contact.

An alliance forged through
marriage. The cost? One Man’s dream.

Blurb

An alliance forged through marriage. The cost? One Man’s dream.

Tristan dreams of the day he’ll succeed his father as the
next Warlord of Markaytia. Elves—creatures famous for their darker passions and
tantalizing culture—approach the Markaytian king with an offer he can’t refuse: an alliance
with the Elves for the one Tristan Kanes.

Tristan is forced to give up his dream.

He’s not thrilled, but Tristan is a man of duty above all else.
What choice does he have? He cannot refuse the king or Markaytia. He begrudgingly comes
to terms with the arranged marriage. Is he a tad sour about it? Yes, but he’ll get over it.

Probably.

Maybe it won’t be so bad. Elves have cool weapons,
maybe he’ll get one?

Corrik bans him from cool weapons.

Corrik’s seen Tristan’s gruesome death on the point of a
sword in a prophetic vision. He bans Tristan from picking up a sword ever again. Tristan
wants to accept the marriage with grace to make his people proud, but he resents Corrik for
his remorseless attitude over his life’s work.

Facing the Ice Prince and himself.

Tristan’s conflict follows him on the journey to the
mysterious Elven land of Mortouge. He hates Corrik for taking him from the life he loved,
boy does he, but his new Elven husband is an enigma and he’s captivated. He sets Tristan’s
blood on fire and freezes it at the same time. Corrik unravels Tristan’s true nature and
despite his best efforts, Tristan falls for his ice prince.

But Corrik won’t bend.

Corrik wants to be obeyed. He’s demanding and
possessive. He’s overbearingly protective.

Can these two find a suitable compromise? Or will Tristan’s
resentment and Corrik’s arrogance ruin forever their chance at love?

Tristan by Mock (S. Legend) is a gay romance fantasy featuring enemies-to-lovers vibes, an age
gap, arranged marriage, first times, and a happy ending (um, eventually). This is the first
action-adventure romance in the Tristan Trilogy. Mock may have written it down, but truly
it’s told by your lovable host, Tristan Kanes. He’s funny, sarcastic and while it may not seem
it at times, he’s the real person in charge of this story.

Excerpt

I remember the day I was called to the Great Hall alone, which set o all kinds of warning
bells. Lucca and I were attached at the hip then and were usually called to the Hall together.
In hindsight, I think it was because my uncle, King Amarail Kanes, knew Lucca would react
poorly when he heard the news.

I walked into the hall with my stomach already churning and when I saw that my father and
uncle were not alone, it plummeted like it had been shoved in ice-cold water.

That was when I saw him for the rst time.

The power of his features came from what wasn’t there, rather than from what was. The
man was devoid of imper‐ fections; not one thing about his face or his body hinted to a
deciency. There was no weakness in his impenetrable demeanor—the man was used to
winning and getting what he wanted. His cold purple eyes knew no warmth or sunshine and
sat as sentinels atop the high bridge of his patrician nose, complementing the supercilious
manner that surrounded him. Without a smile on his face, he looked cruel and stony. At the
same time, there was no darkness in him, whatsoever. Gold hair owed long over silver robes
that were open to reveal porcelain white skin; unmarred, and solid. The breezy, pretty robes
did nothing to diminish the restrained force of his chest and abdomen muscles—he seemed
to dominate the eeminate attire, as if he’d already defeated it. Not a body built for eldwork,
but for blood—war.

My cock stirred for him and made it impossible to deny that I was attracted to this ice

mountain of a man—I blushed. This was not the place I wanted to have an erec‐ tion. I
shifted my eyes away from the prince, down to my boots, placing my hands over my crotch.

“King Vilsarion, Prince Corrik. This is Tristan, my son,” Father introduced me.

“Welcome,” I said, giving a deep bow to each using the Markaytian etiquette Papa taught
me, then I took my place beside Papa.

“Tristan,” my uncle said. “We are honored to announce that we have reached an alliance
with Mortouge.”

I smiled my best smile. Absolutely, bloody fantastic! The Elves didn’t align themselves with
just anyone and knowing what I knew of the recent unrest in the Northeastern Plains, since
we helped them a while back, I knew it was best to have as many strong alliances as
possible, if the Kanes were to maintain our hold of Dragon’s Rock. For the rst time in
millennia, we had to take extra measures to protect Markaytia’s crown city.

“That is excellent, Sire.” I turned to the Elven king. “I’ve been named as successor to my
father at my coming-of- age ceremony, and as future Warlord, I will look forward to dealings
with your Warlord. We Markaytians could learn from your teachings. I’ve read much about
your weapons—I know you forge the best ones,” I gushed.

I wage for peace, but war is inevitable and the prospect of ghting alongside an Elf was
exciting. All I knew of Elves at the time was of their weapons and great wars. I had little
interest in their other qualities. The Elves are a beautiful, mysterious race, but I didn’t see
much use getting involved in their politics or anything else about them since they were also
a private race who didn’t often allow outsiders into their grand kingdom.

I didn’t expect the Elven king to frown at my words. The smile on his face lit up the room
before, and especially standing next to his grouchy-looking son, the contrast was far
reaching. I turned to look at Papa, confused, and he took a sharp breath, ready to cry. Father
stepped between us; his dark eyes pinned me in place.

Uncle continued. “The alliance will be sealed with a marriage, Tristan. You to Prince Corrik.”

The displeasure must have been plain on my face, though I tried for the life of me to hide it.

About the Author

Some of you know her as
Mock, others as S. Legend, or Miss S. She welcomes all names but will often go by Mock, a
name given to her by her readers.

Mock is an ambitious
creative, weaving the most precious aspects of her soul into stories. She is an architect,
building fascinating worlds, designed from inquiry, rooted in worldly wonderings. It’s an
intuitive process where she is the scribe, the translator, the conduit.

It helped that storytelling was
the language spoken at home. One simply didn’t say, “We have an ant infestation. ” In
Mock’s family it was, “I was on my way to the living room, when a peculiar ant crossed my
path. I looked to my right, a suspicious line of them marched toward the pantry. In that
moment I knew; my kitchen was under siege.” The natural flow of conversation always took
this form.

And so.

When Mock wrote her first
novel, she didn’t plan it chapter by chapter, there was no outline, no “plotting” to speak of.
But she didn’t “pants” it either, she didn’t make it up as she went along. She knew how the
story felt, where it curved in places and hollowed in others; she knew the destination it
rushed toward. Instead of orchestrating, she let the world inspire her, and held space for
the words to come, trusting the characters knew what they were doing. All she had to do
was tell a story, as she always had done; like breathing.

This is her peace, her healing
and solace: Gifts better shared.

Mock’s works are the comfort
you seek when you need to come home. Her unique writing style will take you, wayfaring
reader, to unexpected destinations.

She always says, “I’m not in
the business of making up stories, I couldn’t if I tried. I’m lucky enough to get picked to
share someone else’s story when I ask a question to the universe. Someone answers; I write
it down.”

winter.

dead by the rogue vampire, and suddenly Ben’s mission changes course. In the freezing
wilderness of Alaska, he uncovers more truths and the mate he’d always longed for… and

MM Paranormal Romance.

Excerpt

Letting my senses guide me, I came upon a small grouping of cabins that surrounded a lake,
just like the sign promised. It was so far removed from where I’d turned off the main road
that I couldn’t believe there could be a human out here. But there was.

I was slammed from behind and tumbled toward the ground but managed to land on my
feet before spinning to face whatever had attacked me.

Before me crouched a vampire who appeared to have been feeding to the point of being
blood crazed. He had no control over his instincts at this point and was consumed with the
need to feed, and by the way he bared his teeth at me, he didn’t know any better than to try
to feed on me. His face was partially hidden from view by the hood of his jacket,
and what looked like a stocking hat pulled down low.

“Stand down, vampire, or I will end you.” I readied for his attack that I knew would come. He
was far past caring about consequences and believe me, there would be consequences.

He snarled and attacked; grabbing my hair and running up the trunk of a tree, he ripped my
head back. Twisting around, I tore myself from his grip and stood on his back as I pressed
him into the snow.

“Get off me or you will die.” He fought, even though he knew he would not win. The
madness that overtook him left him unreasonable to a point he would not be saved, and I
grunted as he heaved me off him and against a tree.

He was up in a flash charging at me again. “Must feed,” he screamed, his hands curled into

claws as he charged. I spun as he reached me and pulled the knife from my waistband.
Though it only left him off balance for a split-second, it was enough to give me the
advantage. When he attacked again, I spun the knife and plunged it into his heart. It wasn’t
enough to destroy him, but it would injure him.

He screamed in pain before running off into the woods. Fuck, why did it always have to be
so hard?
