A freak windstorm. A life-
changing accident. An unlikely helping hand.

Blurb

A freak windstorm. A life-changing accident. An unlikely
helping hand.

After years spent suffering under the weight of his father’s
expectations, Max Castillo-Grant is celebrating his shiny new law degree by drinking,
partying, and bed-hopping around Seattle. Max isn’t stupid—he knows the good times never
last—but if the world’s going to bring him low, he might as well enjoy the high.

Six years ago, a broken heart and a deep loss turned Ben
Greer bitter and reclusive. Formerly the life of the party, he quit his job, rejected his friends,
and hid from the world. Now, he spends his days alone, working on occasional custom
carpentry commissions, with only his dog, Judith, for company.

Two severe weather events conspire to leave Ben in need of
a full-time caretaker for his injuries, and Max in need of a respectable job. Despite a rocky
start, Ben is begrudgingly won over by Max’s good humor, and the two form a lasting
connection. But emotional wounds leave deep scars, and both Ben and Max are damaged.
Can they find a way to heal hurts that go far beyond the physical before it’s too late?

The second book in the Living Situations series,
Bedside Manners is a gay romance featuring an age gap, BDSM, and 4-6 terrible puns about
woodworking. If you like steamy situations, hurt/comfort, and grumpy mountain men, then
you’ll love Ella Fenn’s latest novel.

Pick up Bedside
Manners
and let Ben and Max sweep you off
your feet today!

Excerpt

Ben woke to the disconcerting sensation of a tongue
between his toes. He sat up, yanking his foot away, and faced down the wet-mouthed
perpetrator.

Judith sat back on her haunches and grinned, her tongue
lolling from her lips as she stared at him with brown eyes that radiated canine intelligence.
She was smart enough to know how to get Ben out of bed, at any rate.

“Menace,” Ben said, scowling as he scrubbed a hand
through his hair. “Delinquent. I oughta take you back to the pound.”

Judith gave an impatient yap, her shaggy tail thumping
against the hardwood. Ben glanced at the clock and yawned. “All right, all right. I’m coming.”

He rose, ignoring the way his knees popped and his neck
twinged—forty-five was forty-five—then dressed in his standard flannel and jeans then
navigated the maze of boxes that lay between him and the stairs. eBay purchases, mostly,
things he’d intended to refurbish and sell but never quite got around to dealing with.

Judith led the way downstairs to Ben’s well-stocked kitchen,
where he poured a bowl of kibble for her and got coffee brewing for himself before flipping
on the radio.

“We’ve got a windstorm advisory for Seattle. It’s gonna be a
nasty one out there, folks, so if you’re planning on hiking, maybe reconsider,”
the announcer said as she detailed the day’s weather. A quick
glance out the kitchen windows confirmed her words. The tall pines surrounding Ben’s
isolated property were bending under the wind’s assault.

“Guess we’re staying in the shop today,” he said, more to
himself than to Judith, who was still preoccupied with her food.

Not that staying in was a problem—Ben had been doing it
every day for the better part of five years. There was plenty of gas in the generator and food
in the fridge, so even if the wind blew the power down (which it had been known to do on
occasion), he and Jude could stay tucked up and safe for a good long while. Not forever,
but… well,
forever would be the dream, with unlimited supplies appearing as if by magic.

“Come on, little girl,” he said, patting her head. “You wanna
get to work?”

That got her tail wagging, and Ben grinned. He felt the
same way about the workshop, that welcoming cocoon of sawdust and wood awaiting them
across the drive. Originally, it had been a two-car garage with a mother-in-law suite
overhead, but he’d converted the space into his workshop when he bought the place,
putting up a carport between the buildings to link them. The shop was his sanctum
sanctorum, full of tools he’d inherited from his father and some shiny new toys he’d
purchased to make it perfect.

Judith bounded ahead, eager to get to her favorite
place—favorite bed, favorite toys, favorite box of treats—and Ben followed, cupping one
hand over the top of his mug, the scalding splashes barely registering against the worn
calluses he’d built up over the years. No more than half the coffee remained by the time he
made it to the workshop and opened the side door. Judith, true to form, was already curled
up in her bed, the doggy door Ben had installed years before having allowed her ease of
access.

“Shit,” he said, leaning against the heavy wooden door with
a laugh. “That’s some gale, huh, Dorothy?”

Judith didn’t get the joke. Humor was wasted on canines.
Harrumphing, Ben went to his desk, set his coffee between two precarious-looking piles of
papers, and picked up the leatherbound sketchbook he’d need to continue work on his latest
commission of six dining chairs.

Notebook tucked into his back pocket, he went to his wood
rack, selected a sheet of oak, and eased it out. He whistled along with the wind as he
brought the wood to the table saw that dominated the corner nearest the rack. An ancient
relic, the saw had been his father’s, carefully packed and shipped from Montana after the
old man had died a few years prior.

Ben flipped the switch that powered the table then got to
it, carefully cutting the slab of oak down to size. It was rote work, peaceful in its way, and he
lost himself in the rhythm, heedless of the screaming wind outside… until there came a bang
on the roof so loud it made him jump. That was a mistake, since he’d been damn close to the
blade. The torque of the motor kept chewing through the wood, and when it got to Ben’s
forearm, the saw chewed through that too.

Can being Beau’s
housemate and plaything, transform into forever love?

Blurb

A one-night stand with my housemate wasn’t the best idea,
but that doesn’t stop me from wanting seconds.

Beau is unexpectedly everything I want. He respects me
and accepts me the way I am. He takes charge but relinquishes control to me when I feel the
need.

Nothing’s ever simple. He might be the Mister Right I didn’t
know I was looking for, but he has family issues and we’ve agreed to keep our fling secret
from our housemates.

Will he ever want me to be more than his secret
plaything?

Plaything is an
mm D/s romance. It includes sexy role-play, cross-dressing, spanking, breath play, and a
small amount of hurt/comfort. It’s the second book in the
My Kinky Housemate Series and, while it can be enjoyed as a standalone, you’ll find out more about the
housemates in book one,
Sugar Bunny.

Excerpt

Joey peers at Beau. “I’m not sure Fraser would like you if you were boring.”

Beau grins. “Well, maybe I’m not that boring, then.”

“Do you get on with your twin?”

“Enough to live with him,” I say.

“Yes,” Beau replies. “We’re very close.”

“It must be nice to have a brother or sister,” Joey says wistfully. “It’s just Mum and me.” He
rubs his arms.

“You’ve got Fraser,” Beau points out.

Joey grins at me. “Yeah, I do. He’s amazing.”

My cheeks heat up.

“I know I can rely on Fraser. I can tell him anything. I wish he were my real big brother
sometimes.”

“I’m the next best thing,” I say, ruffling his hair. “And I’m not going anywhere, okay? You will
always be able to count on me.”

Joey hugs me. “Thank you.” The words are muffled as he’s talking into my chest. “Can Fraser
count on you?” he asks Beau.

“Yes.”

Joey purses his lips. “Can I talk to you?” he asks, staring at Beau. “Alone.”

Beau looks at me.

I hold my hands up. “It’s okay with me. I’ll be over here.” I point towards the octopus tank.
I’ll be out of earshot, but I’ll be able to keep my eyes on them both.

It’s not that I don’t trust Beau, but Joey is my responsibility. I stroll away and then turn and
watch them, arms folded. They’re having a serious conversation. Beau is doing lots of
nodding, and Joey is pointing at him in a way that might have been menacing if he wasn’t
such a cute kid. Then Beau puts his hand on his heart and says something with a solemn
expression on his face. That done, Joey waves me back over.

“What was all that about?” I ask.

“Our secret,” Joey says.

Beau puts his arm around my waist and whispers in my ear, “I’ll tell you later.”

I give him a knowing look. I’m pretty sure my little brother just gave my boyfriend the ‘dad’
talk.

Losing himself to the
shadows is not possible, but who can help him learn to live again?

Blurb

Despite being third in line to the throne, George doesn’t
believe he will ever be king, and he is content with that knowledge. He prefers to live his life
in the shadow of his brothers because he can hide his extra-curricular activities there. When

his life is torn apart by grief, he loses himself in those shadows until he focuses on what
matters to him. Love.

More media attention is the last thing Timothy wants. He
left his hometown to get away from it, but his new position makes that almost impossible.
Balancing the requirements of his teaching role, the needs of his new patient, and the
feelings that should never have grown, he struggles to see the right course of action until
the choice is taken away from him.

Stepping back inside the place where Eddie had been
abused by the one person who should’ve taken care of him has been harder than he
expected. Finding someone who is patient enough to help him through his anxieties about a
BDSM relationship is easier. Unfortunately, royal duties threaten to pull them apart before
they’ve even started.

As the three lives intertwine in the unlikeliest of situations,
who will throw themselves into the deep end, and who will back away, scared of the
repercussions?

This is an MMM book containing BDSM scenes and
D/s dynamics in all forms. It also has lots of loving, friendships, family drama and, of course,
a triple HEA.

Excerpt

“Eddie!”

He searched the room for the voice but couldn’t see
anyone until Master George stepped through the parted crowd.

Eddie lowered his head. “Master George.” Eddie’s heart
raced, and he couldn’t contain his smile.

“Clarice didn’t hear from you. Does that mean you’ve
decided not to go ahead with what we talked about?”

Was he supposed to have called her? “Oh, um, I still want
to go ahead with it. I forgot to call her and tell her. I was excited about coming tonight and
didn’t think about calling ahead.”

“Shh. Eddie, breathe. It’s fine.” Master George slipped an
arm around Eddie’s shoulders. “I wanted to go through a contract with you, that’s all. Can
we do that now?”

Eddie didn’t want to read a contract. He wanted Master
George. “Can we do it later?” he asked, eyes still lowered.

Master George was quiet, then a finger curved under his
chin, lifting his head. When he met the vibrant blue eyes, he relaxed.

“Better. Yes, we can do it later, but we must do it if you
want to go ahead.”

“I do, Sir. Definitely.”

Master George smiled. “What would you like to do
tonight?”

Eddie licked his lips. “I’m not really sure.”

“Do you trust me?”

“Implicitly,” Eddie said in a firm voice.

Master George nodded once. “Come on.”

Eddie went with Master George to one of the private
rooms but hesitated at the threshold, even though Master George still had his arm around
him.

“What’s wrong?” Master George stepped in front of him
and cupped his jaw, bringing their gazes together. “Talk to me.”

“This is the room…Master Douglas found me in.” Eddie’s
heart pounded. He knew he’d have to face the room eventually because it was ridiculous to
think a space could have this much of a hold over him.

“Let’s try another room.”

“No! Sir. No.” He stared into Master George’s eyes. “Will
you help me?”

“With anything and everything I can. What do you
need?”

“I want to do it here. I need something good to wash away
the bad memories of this room.”

“Are you sure, Eddie? There is no weakness in not being
ready.”

“I’m sure.” He nodded to emphasise his answer.

Master George stared at him for a long minute, then
nodded in return. He slid his hands into Eddie’s and gripped them hard. “I’m here.” He
stepped backwards, tugging Eddie into the room with him.

Every step had Eddie’s palms sweating and his heart
jumping, but when they finally stopped in the centre of the room, Eddie sighed. He glanced
around, never letting go of Master George’s hands.

About the Author

I am Elouise East but feel free
to call me Elli. I write sweet and steamy connections in gay romance. I also touch on taboo
stories under the name Elouise R East.

Books that tell the stories
where friendship and family are the focal point – be it blood family or chosen – is very
important to me. That’s why I include a variety of personalities, talents, ages, situations and
abilities as I believe a story or a character needs. I want my characters to be real, to be
relatable, to be free to have whatever views they tell me they have. And trust me, most of
the time, I do not have
any say in the matter!

My characters come to life on
the page for me as well as my readers. Their stories unfold in front of me, and I have very
little input into how they want to be shown. Just like real life, the lives of my characters
change with every choice, every interaction and every conversation. And I wouldn’t have it
any other way.

I write books that are
emotionally realistic, even if liberties are taken with other aspects of my stories. I don’t
know any other way to write. It comes from deep inside.

Who am I? A single parent to
two children who make life worth living. An avid reader who still devours every book she can
get her hands on. A student of learning about any subject that takes her fancy. An author of
books she would read herself. And a romantic at heart who loves anything cheesy.

Excerpt from A is for Aftercare

“You’re struggling to write?” he asks.

He picks up a glass of water and drinks from it. Captivated, I admire the way his full lips
curve around the rim.

“Aye.”

“It’s the book that’s due in a month?”

“Aye.” I groan. “I’ll manage it.”

“How much have you written?”

I shrug. “Not enough. I’m just not feeling the words. I’m sick of Orion. I’d put a bullet
through his head if my publisher let me.” I have no clue why I’m telling him any of this.

“If it helps, I really like Orion.”

I snort. “I’m paying you to be my PA, not kiss my arse.” Not that I have any reason to
disbelieve his love of my character. On the other hand, I wouldn’t be averse to his lips being
pressed against that part of my body—or anywhere else for that matter. I stuff some of the
avocado toast into my mouth. It tastes a bit too good.

“I’m not.” The blush across his cheeks deepens to scarlet. “I’m being honest. I know he’s a
bit surly, but he’s got a kind heart, really.”

I huff. “He’s a crotchety arsehole.”

Archie laughs. The sound reverberates through my body, almost making me want to laugh
along with him. Part of the reason I hate Orion is that he’s too much like me.

“But I’m stuck with him for this book and another one. At least.”

“At least?”

“My contract runs out after that, but knowing my publisher, I’m sure they’ll try to sweet talk
me into signing up to write another three books about the grumpy fucker.”

Archie smothers another laugh behind his hand.

“What?” I demand.

“You don’t strike me as the kind of man who does anything he doesn’t want to.”

I narrow my eyes. What else does he think he’s figured out about me?

“I’m not, but this is different.”

Archie tilts his head. “How?”

I open and close my mouth a couple of times, which probably makes me look like a fish
drowning in air. “My publisher calls the shots,” I say eventually. Self-publishing under a pen
name gives me the creative freedom I crave. Not that I’m going to mention that to my sexy
PA.

“Surely they’ll understand if you tell them you’ve run out of steam? Especially if you pitch
them a fantastic new idea.”

I shake my head.

“I’ve read all your books, sir. You’ve written so many amazing characters. I’m
sure you could come up with a concept that would blow Orion King out of the water.”

I stare at the food on my plate.

“If you could write anything, what would it be?”

Aside from hot, passionate, if unrealistic stories of men falling in love? “I don’t know.”

“You should think about it,” Archie says as if it’s as easy as calling lightning from the sky. “But
right now, you need to find a way to fall back in love with Orion enough to finish this book
and write another.”

“I know,” I grumble.

“Is there anything I can do to help the words flow?” Archie asks.

I jerk my head back. “What?”

That’s not even remotely part of his job description. Then again, it’s only halfway through
his first day, and he’s already made more of a positive impact on me than any of his
predecessors.

“Can I help?”

Be Lee Lawson’s muse. Lie naked on my bed while I write about how glorious you
are.

Blurb

After the Luchesi mafia family betrays him, assassin Mickey Tamerlane joins with gangster Boss Cold to seek revenge. But as they maneuver to take out their enemies and claim control over the city’s underworld, Mickey finds himself distracted by the newest member of Cold’s crew.

Cocky and handsome, Roger Lorre pushes Mickey’s buttons until Mickey pushes back hard.

Hard enough to hurt.

But no matter how well-used and sore he leaves Roger, once isn’t going to be enough for either of them.

Not even close.

Publisher’s Note: Strapped for Cash is a prequel to Cold Hard Cash and Hard Earned Cash. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Excerpt

“Don Luchesi is dead.”

“How?” Mickey blurted out.

“Murdered in his very own home,” Cold replied. “I have been waiting years for the old man to kill himself with a heart attack, but someone else decided to speed his demise along. Though I am grateful, this means that certain plans are going to be put into action much sooner than I expected.”

“The city,” Crybaby said, her eyes wide. “We’re takin’ it. We’re gonna do it.”

“Yes,” Cold confirmed. “With your help, my dear Gentlemen, the city is finally going to be ours.”

“Fuck yeah,” Jules cheered.

“Who killed the Don?” Duncan asked quietly.

“I do not know.” Cold seemed a little annoyed at that fact. “But that will actually end up working to our advantage.”

“How?”

“Because if I don’t know, it means the Luchesis don’t know.” Cold leaned forward, his usually calm face lit up with excitement. “The most likely suspects are his three sons, Cristian, Luigi, and Matteo. The Don had yet to name an heir, and there will most certainly be a struggle for power.”

“The ring,” Mickey recalled. “He didn’t pass on that stupid ring.”

“Precisely,” Cold said. “Matteo was favored to take his father’s place, but his brothers are hungry for it, too. This also works to our advantage.”

“What do we do?” Crybaby asked eagerly. “Kill ‘em?”

“I appreciate the enthusiasm, but no,” Cold drawled. “They’re about to do their own killing, and we’re going to help them right along.” He looked to Mickey. “Do you remember when you were so kind as to discover Tony Luchesi’s nasty theft?”

“Yeah,” Mickey replied. “What about it?”

“Well, it turns out he was stealing that money to help fund Cristian’s future claim to the throne.” Cold pursed his lips. “Such a shame.”

“The bar… it was Luigi’s, wasn’t it?”

“Yes,” Cold confirmed. “Piece by piece, we’re going to turn the three brothers against one another. The family will split apart. Everyone will try to pick a side, and the three darling siblings will each be attempting to make the best case for themselves while valiantly trying to murder the others.”

“Chaos,” Alistair said with a knowing nod. “It’s going to be total and complete chaos.”

“You knew this was going to happen,” Mickey accused. “You knew the Don hadn’t picked an heir and was going to die without one.”

“I knew he was arrogant enough to think he wasn’t going to die anytime soon and foolish enough not to listen to his doctors,” Cold said. “The chances of him dying prematurely without settling his affairs was very likely. I had planned to use his death to propel our takeover of the city. I did not expect, however, for him to be murdered.”

“I call that a fuckin’ bonus.” Jules laughed. “Them stupid ass brothers are gonna be at each other’s fuckin’ throats thinkin’ one of them killed Daddy.”

“So.” Jerry perked up. “What is our first move, Monsieur Cold? What would you have us do?”

“Everything we need is right here under this roof,” Cold replied, offering a coy smile.

“You know we’re in a gay bar, right?” Duncan asked in a loud whisper.

“Yes.” Cold looked irritated. “There is a young man who works here at night as a dancer. He goes by the name ‘Galavant.’ He also washes dishes over at Ragazzi’s.”

“How is a dishwasher gonna help?”

“That restaurant is the Luchesi’s big honey pot,” Jules replied, eyeing Duncan until he cowered. “Galavant is our fuckin’ way in. Payroll for all the drugs, brothels, and illegal type businesses gets banked there.”

“How much?” Mickey asked.

“Millions,” Cold replied, looking very pleased with himself. “The Luchesis are arrogant enough to believe no one would dare steal from them. That arrogance is going to be their undoing. First, we take their money. Next, we’re going to take their drugs. The bouncer here, Reggie? His mother is a maid at one of the hotels the Luchesis run as a brothel. They use the basement there to prepare their product before distribution.”

“So, we’re gonna take their drugs?” Pym perked up.

“No.”

Pym pouted and sank back down in his chair.

“We’re going to tip off the police to the location and allow them to have the glory of the biggest drug bust this city has ever seen. It’s a little gift to our friend Officer Carville for his very timely payments. He’ll look so fetching on the front page. Might even be chief one day. We’re also going to make sure the police’s anonymous source is identified as a member of the Luchesi family.”

“We take out the money, the drugs, okay, but what about the judges? All the politicians?” Crybaby frowned. “We don’t own any of them. We barely own any cops.”

“Never fear,” Cold soothed. “Once the blood starts filling the streets, they’ll come to us. They won’t have a choice. We’re going to be their safe harbor from the storm, you see. They won’t care who’s in charge as long as peace is established. And if not… well.” He smirked slyly. “I have other ways.”

“Okay.” Mickey grinned. “So, when do we start?”

“Soon. You, Jules, and our newest member will be going.” Cold waved to Alistair.

Alistair left his perch on the desk to open the door, gesturing for someone to come in.

Mickey turned to see who it was, and he couldn’t hide his shock.

That son of a bitch…

It was the crazy guy from the gas station.

“This is Roger Lorre,” Cold said. “He is a talented little thief and an expert safecracker. He will be accompanying you to Ragazzi’s. Say hello, Mr. Lorre.”

“Hello, boys,” Roger said, his eyes immediately focusing on Mickey. “Well, hi there. Long time, no see.”

Mickey gritted his teeth.

Cold glanced between them. “Am I to assume you’ve already met Mickey Tamerlane then?”

“Mickey, huh?” Roger grinned crookedly at him, whistling low. “Mm, and aren’t you just so fine.”

Excerpt

Pet fumbled his drink, creating a clink of glass against glass
and spilling pink droplets onto the table’s surface. He had encountered Décor Preservation
Services once before, at his first auction, when they evaluated his quality and determined
what price to charge his buyers.

“And what does DPS want with us?”

Desmodian sounded too calm, considering the tremor Pet
felt running through the hand on his head.

Vige scoffed. “Really? A trio of dirty ship-dwellers running
around with one of their precious décor, and you don’t think they’re going to
intervene?”

“We’ve done nothing wrong.” Xavis ruffled his feathers
again, filling what little space remained in their alcove. “Pet was transferred to us legally.
Anyone can check the license.”

In a different situation, Pet would have stroked the feathers
back down, but he was too scared to do more than stare dumbly from person to
person.

About the Author

D’Arcy Arden grew up in
Akron, Ohio, where she attended creative art schools and was surrounded by beautiful
country landscape. This combination cultivated an interest in literature, art, and the natural
world around her. In college, she earned a Masters Degree in Fiction Writing, which
primarily taught her that there is no one way to tell a good story. So, she turned around and
went back for a degree in Animation as well. This love for both visual and written stories has
given her a preference for stories that are memorable, easy to picture, and, most
importantly, fun.

That was her main goal when
she started writing The Fourth State of Matter—to provide readers with a fun story featuring
the three S’s. Science, sex, and spaceships. It is her first published novel, but only the
beginning of a great adventure.

A bad boy mechanic and a kinky accountant: can an indecent
proposal lead to love?

Blurb

Though Forrest Patton looks like a tweedy, uptight
accountant, he’s anything but. Underneath the fussy bow ties and love of color-coded
spreadsheets lies a man searching for someone to peel back the layers and fulfill his
shameful fantasies. Eavesdropping at the diner in town leads him to wonder if the local
mechanic might just be the man for the job.

Jarod Keener likes it rough, and he makes no secret of that.
But he never expects to be approached with an offer to trade accounting advice for some
dirty, risky fun. Always up for a challenge, Jarod dives in head first but Forrest doesn’t trust
anyone to give him the humiliation he needs once feelings start to get in the way.

When a secret about Jarod’s family upends everything,
Forrest will have to decide if he’s willing to give Jarod a chance to show him that he can have
love
and the kink he longs for.

Warning: Embracing His Shame includes: mild humiliation
play, small-town gossip, and two men falling in love despite their best efforts.

Excerpt

“I have a proposal for you.” Forrest squared his shoulders
and fought the urge to fuss with his bow tie. He’d figured he might as well show up in Full
Forrest Mode so Jarod would know what he was getting into. Forrest had tried to pretend he
was someone he wasn’t in the past and that had never worked out well. He was never going
to be anything but a tall, skinny cycling nut who dressed like somebody’s grandpa. He just
had to hope that would do it for Jarod.

“A proposal, huh?” Jarod smirked.

Forrest had heard plenty of rumors about Jarod since he’d
arrived in town. That he was a hell of a mechanic. That he was an unrepentant man-whore.
That he was a kinky deviant. It was the last two Forrest was really, really banking on.

“Yes.” Forrest cleared his throat, the scent of grease, oil,
and metal teasing at his nostrils again. “I’ve outlined a plan.” He stepped closer and thrust
out his hand, papers trembling a little.

Jarrod blinked down at the slightly rustling sheets. “Why
don’t ya’ spell it out for me. I don’t go much for reading.”

“Pretty sure the dog-eared Isaac Azimov book I saw you
reading at The Good Yolk the other morning says otherwise,” Forrest blurted out. He’d
spotted it on the table as he’d left last weekend. All part of the reconnaissance work he’d
done.

“Seems like you’ve been payin’ real close attention to me,”
Jarod said, raising a single eyebrow. He took a step closer and the scents of the garage were
replaced with something rich and deep. Animalistic, with hints of tobacco and cinnamon,
and something warm and sweet that lingered in Forrest’s nostrils. “Funny. I don’t know who
you are.”

“Forrest Patton.” He squared his shoulders. “I’m an
accountant in town.”

“Huh. Yeah, your name does ring a few bells. Can’t say as
I’ve ever seen you before though.” Jarod’s gaze flicked up and down his body. This morning,
Forrest wore dark green trousers, a gray cardigan, a white and gray check button down shirt,
and a bow tie he’d had to re-tie three times before it would lay flat. He tried not to squirm
as he imagined Jarod staring at him like that while he was naked.

“Well, I’ve got work to do now,” Jarod said as he turned
away and ambled toward the car, picking up a wrench of some sort along the way. At least
Forrest was pretty sure it was a wrench. “I’ll work. You talk. You can read the damn
paperwork aloud if you want.”

Damn it, that ruined Forrest’s whole approach of not
talking about things.

Jarod bent over the engine again, focused and intent as he
reached in with the tool. His hands were already a little grimy from the work he’d been
doing this morning. Shit, that was sexy too.

Forrest cleared his throat and plunged forward, trying to
regroup. “I want to do the books for your business in exchange for various kinky sexual
favors.”

Jarod straightened abruptly, his head smacking the hood of
the car with a painful-sounding thud. A moment later the metallic clatter of the wrench
hitting the concrete echoed around them.

Jarod swore as he backed up, rubbing his head. He
squinted at Forrest “
What?”

“I know you’re a Dom or Top of some sort.” Forrest lifted
his chin. “And I want you to dominate me.”

Jarod let out a noise of disbelief. “You do, do you?”

“Yes, I do.”

Unlikely of a pair as they were, Forrest was dead serious
about this. Most Doms took one look at him and assumed he was only the sweet, innocent
accountant the world saw him as. They refused to see that underneath the sweater vests
and the bow ties and the tweed was someone who longed to be treated with more than kid
gloves. Forrest was tired of polite. Tired of being treated like he was made of spun glass. He
wanted to feel shame crawling hot over his skin and revel in it. And he was convinced Jarod
was the man to do it.

“You think you have what it takes to keep up with a guy like
me?” Jarod asked. There was a dangerous glitter in his eyes that made Forrest’s breath go
shallow.

“I’m not a virgin in any sense. I’ve had sex with plenty of
men. I’m not particularly submissive but I love being forced to do something. I’ve never
found anyone who can handle what I want. I think some of the things I’ve fantasized about
would make even
you think twice,” he said defiantly.

“Alright, I’ll admit, you have me curious.” Jarod stepped up
into his space, clearly trying to intimidate him. Forrest squared his shoulders, refusing to
back down. “Tell me what you want. What makes your motor rev?”

“Humiliation,” Forrest said. His heart thumped in his chest
as he said the words aloud. “Degradation. The dirtier the better. I want you to

use
me.”

“Well, well, well,” Jarod drawled as a slow smile spread
over his face. “Who’d have thought Pendleton Bay’s accountant was such a filthy
fuck?”

Even those relatively tame words sent heat spiraling
through Forrest. His knees went weak, his palms got sweaty, and his cock twitched in
anticipation of what was to come. Oh yes, this was exactly what he’d been looking for.

“You ready to find out just how deep that filth goes?”
Forrest asked, lifting his chin.

Jarod chuckled and grabbed his hair, sending stinging pain
through Forrest’s body that settled low in his groin, throbbing in time with his heartbeat.

“Oh, I’m ready. But I think you may have bitten off more
than you can chew, boy,” Jarod said and the warning in his voice sent another thrill through
Forrest’s body.

Forrest titled his head defiantly. “Try me.”

Blurb

Thomas Hill is a lonely embalmer who’s in some big trouble – his ex-boyfriend has been forcing him to illegally sell dangerous chemicals with no signs of stopping, and Tom doesn’t know what to do. His situation gets even more complicated when Cypress Holmes, a smoking hot local florist, walks in on Tom making a deal. Cypress agrees to keep quiet, but his silence comes at a price.

He wants Tom to do exactly as he says and to give him complete and total control over his body at all times. Tom now has no choice but to obey Cypress’s every command to stay out of jail. But when Cypress starts spanking him and tying him up, he realizes he doesn’t mind the rough treatment at all. With or without the threat of blackmail hanging over his head, he likes what Cypress does to him… and he doesn’t want it to stop.

Author’s Note: This book includes intense sexual scenes, rough spankings, and depictions of death and embalming as they relate to the funeral industry. If this material offends or may upset you, please don’t read this book.

Excerpt

Tom was an embalmer, and he’d been working at Crosby-Ayers Funeral Home in Mayfield, North Carolina, for over ten years. He’d done his apprenticeship there after graduating mortuary school and had stayed on once he’d gotten his license. The funeral home was busy enough to support him working solely as an embalmer, and he didn’t have to meet with families like Aaron, who was a funeral director.

Aaron had the right look for it. He was handsome, olive skinned with curly black hair and a confident smile. He could offer sympathy with ease and wore a suit well.

Tom… not so much.

He felt like a silly kid playing dress-up when he wore a suit, and they were always too tight no matter how much he tried to lose the stubborn weight he carried around his stomach and thighs. He was only wearing one today because he thought he was going to have to help out on a funeral.

They hadn’t needed him after all, which was fine by Tom. He didn’t do well with the living, and he’d been told more than once that he came off as creepy.

He was quite pale with chin length mousy brown hair, and his big blue eyes gave him an owlish appearance. He thought it made him look startled or afraid, not quite right for instilling confidence in a family that he was going to help them through their difficult time.

It also didn’t help that he was painfully shy.

Fortunately for Tom, his embalming talents usually kept him in the preparation room and away from families. His specialty was restorative art, repairing those who had suffered traumatic deaths so that their families could see them again.

The woman he had just finished was a Mrs. Jan Winslow, who had died on a Friday, and her body was not found until Monday. During that time, her beloved Pomeranian, Mister Doodles, had eaten the entire right half of her face.

“Walk me through it,” Aaron asked eagerly. “Like, tell me how you do it?”

“Well, you can’t do anything really until after you’ve embalmed them.” Tom stood up and stretched, peeling off his gloves and dropping them into the biohazard trash. “Makeup and the wax we use doesn’t stick that great to unembalmed skin. Slides right off if you’re not careful.

“The next step is cauterizing all of that exposed tissue. Embalming helps dry it out some, but you really wanna make sure it doesn’t leak so we use other chemicals, cauterants like Dryene, to help. Once the skin is good and dry, then we start filling.”

“What do you fill it with? I mean, I saw her before. There was a lot… missing.”

“You can use a bunch of different things depending on how big the wound is,” Tom replied, pulling open the prep room door and ushering Aaron out into the hallway.

It was often full of freshly delivered caskets, stretchers, and bags from the linen service, and today was no different. Tom had to carefully navigate around two caskets and a stack of towels, trying to lead Aaron back out to the offices to continue their conversation.

“Old school embalmers would use newspaper or cotton,” Tom went on, grabbing his suit jacket off the rack by the office door. “These days, they actually make compounds called ‘wound filler’ to well, fill wounds. And then—” He paused when he heard a loud slam, glancing back over his shoulder to see what it was.

At the other end of the hall were three doors. The one on the right led into the walk-in cooler, the one directly opposite the office door was an exit that led into the side parking lot, and the one on the left connected the hallway to the garage. The coaches and limos were stored there, and there was a special door in the corner for flower deliveries.

All of the doors for employees required a code to enter except for that one, and it stayed unlocked during business hours for flower deliveries. Someone could get inside the garage to drop off arrangements, but they wouldn’t be able to get into the hallway.

The hallway door to the garage had been left propped open, probably from a casket being delivered earlier, and the sound Tom had heard was the flower delivery door slamming inside the garage. As his heart began to pound in anticipation, he forgot all about Aaron.

HFG might be here.

Hot Flower Guy.

“Hey, where are you going?” Aaron protested.

“Just go to the office!” Tom called back, already halfway back down the hall. “I’ll meet you in there!”

“Okay,” Aaron replied reluctantly. “Then you’ll finish telling me about wound filler stuff?”

“Scout’s honor!” Tom slowed down as he approached the open door, putting his jacket on and trying not to appear too eager as he stepped inside the garage. He broke into a huge smile when he saw it was HFG in all of his bulging glory.

HFG was black, tall, and broad with thick shoulders and an even thicker beard framing his dark brown face, and Tom had daydreamed about running his hands all over his body. They had barely even spoken more than a few words, but Tom had a definite crush.

The funeral home hours didn’t give Tom much freedom and being on call almost every night killed any chance of an active social life. After a nasty breakup followed by a disappointing string of one night stands through dating apps, he’d committed to staying single until the funeral home hired more help.

In the meantime, he’d grown quite fond of HFG’s deliveries. He didn’t even know his name, but he’d been trying to find out for weeks. HFG was always in and out too quickly to ever strike up a conversation, and Tom wanted a name to go with that gorgeous face.

It didn’t matter that HFG was painfully out of his league—unless he happened to be into pasty white brunettes who had never grown out of their baby fat with big chins and an awkward little gap between their front teeth.

Tom had been cruelly teased about his smile since he was a little kid, no doubt the root of his introverted nature, but he was too excited about seeing HFG to care for once. As he stepped into the garage, however, his joy instantly faded.

HFG was there, but he was arguing with the assistant manager of the funeral home, Gerald Ayers.

Gerald was a prick.

No, he was the absolute king of pricks.
