Getting involved with a
mafia don was a horrible idea. Falling in love with one was worse.

Blurb

Detective Micah Hart wasn’t sure when his fairly safe,
predictable life became something more closely resembling a dumpster fire.

But if he had to pinpoint an exact moment, he would say it
was the first time he went undercover as a prostitute in an attempt to bait the notorious
serial killer that was stalking New York City’s streets – the media-dubbed Hooker

Hunter.

It’s when Damon Romano plows into his life, with his fierce
protective energy, and those thick thighs, and the bluest pair of eyes Micah has ever seen.

If only he wasn’t also a temperamental mafioso in charge of
running one of the city’s largest criminal empires.

Damon fixates on Micah, obsessing over feeding him and
making sure he always has a coat. He spoils him rotten with gifts and insists on taking Micah
on as his personal escort – a “boyfriend” to get his nagging sisters off his back.

It’s weirdly sweet, and Micah doesn’t know how he’s
become a soft spot in the ruthless man’s otherwise hardened exterior, but it would be a lie
to say he didn’t want even more: a

real
relationship with Damon.

There was just one teensy, tiny problem with that.

Despite what Damon thinks, Micah isn’t actually a prostitute.
He’s a cop for the NYPD.

Pretty Policeman is an M/M billionaire mafia romance, sprinkled liberally with rom-
com elements, served with a side helping of sugar daddy kink and mistaken identity trope.

Excerpt

“Quit staring.”

“I’m not.”

“Oh, you are, honey, and I don’t blame you. Those
shoulders go on for dayzzz.”

“I feel like you said that with a ‘z’. Possibly multiple of
them.”

“Oh, I did, sweet pea. And that ass. I have one word for it:
yum.”

“You literally sound like you’re drooling. Are you sure you’re
not the one who’s been staring, Tessa?”

“Of course, I have been!” She didn’t sound the least bit
ashamed about it either. “Look at that gorgeous specimen of a man. If he’s not the offspring
of some Greek god’s bastard, I will chop off my right tit.”

He wrinkled his nose. “Gross.”

Even as he pretended to gag over his partner’s declaration,
however, Micah found his gaze – and attention – drifting back to the man they were
discussing: the supposed descendent of a Greek god.

He was tall, at least a couple of inches past six feet, and the
suit jacket he was wearing clung to the expanse of his impressively broad shoulders. Said
shoulders tapered off to form a trim waist, under which matching pinstripe pants gripped
onto thick thighs – which Micah hadn’t known he had a thing for until now.

Seriously, even from a distance, Micah knew those things
had to be ripped. The man’s entire body looked rock-solid. Micah couldn’t quite make out
any facial features, but if there was any justice in the world, the man must have had the
epitome of a butter-face.

Still, Micah could probably look past it, considering, as
Tessa had so eloquently put it: “that ass”.

“Micah,” Tessa hissed into his earpiece. (Speak of the devil.)
“I said to quit. You’re not even trying to hide your ogling now.”

“You also said to look,” he couldn’t help but point out, but
he obediently dropped his gaze to the ground, anyway. He was wearing a pair of shabby red
Converse. There were holes on the top of the right one where his toes threatened to peek
out, and the left had a loose outsole that liked to flap when he walked.

Not exactly his usual style, but it wasn’t like Micah had
picked them out himself. In fact, he hadn’t picked out any part of his current ensemble.

“I meant metaphorically. You’re in the middle of an
undercover operation. You can’t let yourself be distracted by every hottie that walks by; you
need to keep your wits about you.”

Okay, first of all, that wasn’t just any hottie. Secondly-

“You’re my handler,” he pointed out. “You need to keep
your wits about you.”

“Oh, you don’t worry about my wits, honey. I’m not the one
that’s thirsting after some babelicious stranger, completely ignoring the potential john
coming in at three o’clock.”

Micah tensed, subtly peeking in the direction she’d
indicated.

Tessa was right.

A man dressed in a cheap suit was quickly approaching, the
graying hair near his temples and the deep-set wrinkles of his brow indicating he was
probably in his late forties or early fifties. His uneven gait and the stumble in his step meant
he was probably drunk.

Micah tried not to grimace as the man got closer and he
spotted the wedding band on his finger. The guy didn’t really fit the profile they’d come up
with for their perp – he was too old and looked to be married to boot.

Most likely, he was just another asshole going through a
midlife crisis – not the serial killer going around killing male prostitutes they were searching
for.

Micah voiced his thoughts aloud, muttering lowly into the
mic hidden in his shirt – if the obscene, canary yellow crop top he was wearing could even
be considered a shirt. “I doubt he’s our guy, Tess. Too sloppy.”

“Probably not,” the woman agreed, “but you never know.
You of all people should know that looks can be deceiving. Let him pick you up. If nothing
else, you’ll be able to arrest him for solicitation.”

Resigning himself to do as she suggested, Micah let himself
sink into the brick wall he was lounging against near the mouth of an alley. He winced as the
brick scratched against his exposed lower back where his shirt didn’t quite cover the skin,
but he forced himself to school his expression as the man moved closer.

Honestly, he hadn’t expected to be picked up within the
first fifteen minutes of his shift.

“How much?”

Apparently, Mr. Midlife Crisis wasn’t one for small talk.
Which was unfortunate because Micah needed him to actually say the words. “How much
for what?” he asked.

“Don’t be coy, you little tart.” Micah fought the urge to
wrinkle his nose when the man took another step forward and the stench of alcohol hit him
straight in the face.

He wasn’t intimidated – or, at least, that was what he told
himself when arms braced themselves on either side of his head, effectively trapping Micah
against the brick wall. Sure, he didn’t have his Glock, but Tessa was watching out for him.
Not to mention the fact that he was well-versed in hand-to-hand if worse came to worst.

“$100,” Micah said, knowing he was highballing the man
even before his bloodshot eyes widened in disbelief.

“$100?” he repeated, scoffing. “For a loose hole like yours?
I’ll give you $50 if you can even make me bust my nut.”

This. douchebag.

Micah had planned on just wrangling the man’s hands
behind his back and arresting him as soon as he’d said enough to incriminate himself, but
now he was pissed.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I thought you were asking after my mouth,”
he retorted. “If you want a piece of the filet mignon, the going rate’s 300 bucks.”

He heard Tessa sigh into his earpiece, and judging by the
dull thud that followed, could perfectly picture her banging her head against the steering
wheel of the undercover van she was parked in across the street.

“300 bucks?” Mr. Midlife Crisis sneered. “Who do you think
you are? Sluts like you are hardly worth the time it takes for you to get me off.”

“You’re the one who approached me, buddy,” Micah
reminded him. “Must be worth something.”

Admittedly, he wasn’t expecting for the guy to take him by
the hair, backpedal him into the alley, and smash his head against the wall. The hit wasn’t
hard enough to make his ears ring, but Micah’s eyes watered involuntarily when the man’s
grip on his hair tightened, and he leaned his face into his personal space. “How about this,
you little bitch? Since your ass is apparently off limits, why don’t you get on your knees so I
can show you how you ought to be treating your customers with that smart mouth?
Consider it a free lesson. If you manage to bring me to finish, I’ll even think about leaving a
tip.”

Alright, play time was over.

This guy was more than just your typical drunkard looking
to pick up a hooker – he clearly didn’t give a rat’s ass whether Micah was willing to blow him
or not, he was going to make him. The fact that there were real people out there working
the streets and being treated this way – probably pretty regularly – made anger burn hot in
Micah’s gut. He was about to elbow the asshole in the throat and force him to his knees so
he could slap the zip ties he had hidden on his person for just this reason around his wrists
when Mr. Midlife Crisis was abruptly pulled off of him-

“Get your fucking hands off him!”

-and punched in the face by the man he and Tessa had
been ogling but five minutes earlier.

Micah watched, taken aback, as the Greek god lookalike
pulled back his fist and pummeled the man again. And again. His assaulter fell back onto his
ass after the third hit. He scrambled backward awkwardly, attempting to shield his bloody
face from more attacks while simultaneously doing the crab walk.

Micah may have laughed if he weren’t so stunned.

Cho “Brick” Brixton enjoys cooking, working in his yard, and
binge-watching television while living as an out and proud gay man in the heart of
downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. His parents had the perfect romance, having fallen in
love at first sight when they met in Korea, and Brick longs to find a love like that for his own.

Whipping up meals for one isn’t much fun, and the constant boredom is a drag.

Not to mention it’s miserably lonely.

All of that changes when a giant mysterious hunk named
Jules Price moves in next door. Jules has arrived on business of the not-so-legal sort, namely
to retrieve something that was stolen from his criminal family. When he’s not busy being a
vicious gangster, Jules is set on getting close to Brick and exploring his first ever attraction to
another man. Although Brick has been yearning for the excitement of meeting that special
someone, he soon realizes he may have bitten off more than he can swallow.

As their romance heats up, so too does the danger, and
Brick finds himself in the middle of a bloodbath in the making if Jules can’t get back what he
came here for. Luckily for Brick, Jules is the kind of man who will stop at nothing to keep him
safe, and he doesn’t care who gets in his way—or how high the body count gets.

CASH is part of the Ruthless
Daddies multi-author collab
and a complete standalone. Expect to find a criminal Daddy,
a tough boy, high steam, and some dark mafia themes. Want more deliciously morally gray

Excerpt

“Never met a guy that got me hard before.” Jules glanced
over Brick appraisingly. “Well, except you.”

Brick couldn’t have heard that correctly. “Excuse
me?”

“I’ve met some of the most fuckin’ fearless motherfuckers
on the planet. Nothing makes these guys flinch, not a fuckin’ thing.” Jules paused to sip his
drink, his dark eyes fixed on Brick’s. “And you…”

Brick’s face was instantly on fire from the intensity of Jules’s
gaze, and he was hyperaware of how very close they were right now. He couldn’t stop
glancing down at Jules’s mouth, fixated on a wet spot of liquor that he desperately wanted
to taste.

“You’re just some fuckin’ translator. You’re just a regular
guy, but you didn’t hesitate a fuckin’ second to point that gun at those assholes. I saw you
fightin’ them before I got in there. You were gonna mess those fuckers up if they hadn’t
pulled on you.” Jules grinned. “It was fuckin’ hot.”

“Yeah?” Brick leaned in, gravitating as closely as he dared to
Jules. “And how many other guys have you tried to sell this shit to, huh? Oh, I’ve never ever
been with any dudes before, but you are so way hot, please suck my dick.”

“Hey. I didn’t say nothin’ about suckin’ me.” Jules’s tongue
flicked over his lips. “But if you wanna, I ain’t gonna stop you.”

“Who said I wanted to?” Brick fired back.

“Oh, baby boy.” Jules’s smile grew wicked. “You definitely
wanna.”

“You sure about that?” Brick couldn’t believe this was
happening now.

Flirting with Jules was somehow even more insane than
having a gun pulled on him earlier tonight, especially since Jules was so eagerly flirting right
back. The energy in the room was charged, hot, and Brick knew he was in deep trouble
because the only thing on his mind was kissing this sexy gangster.

“Very sure.” Jules’s hand slid up Brick’s thigh to rest on his
hip. “I know a pair of fuck-me eyes when I see ’em. You wanna suck Daddy’s dick,
huh?”

“I think you’re just really into this Daddy thing,” Brick
argued, seeking out Jules’s chest and rubbing over his thick pec. “You want some sweet little
thing to roll over and call you Daddy while he blows you, huh?”

“Can that sweet little thing be you? ’Cause I’m startin’ to
get into it.”

“I don’t know, Daddy,” Brick teased. “I still think this
isn’t the first time you’ve pulled this.”

“It is.” Jules touched Brick’s cheek. “Ain’t ever had any guy
get to my dick like this. You’re… pretty fuckin’ special.”

“And you’re not having any kind of weird identity crisis
wanting a guy to blow you?”

“I’m very well adjusted.”

“Uh-huh.”

“It don’t matter. Like I told you before, when I want
something, I go for it.” Jules’s lips hovered over Brick’s, and his breath was hot and smelled
of spicy liquor as he whispered, “And right fuckin’ now, I want you.”

Brick’s brain imploded. He could not think clearly when
Jules said shit like that, and touching Jules’s thick muscled chest was every bit as delicious as
Brick had imagined. Moving fast wasn’t new to Brick—hell, once upon a time he’d been
known to have some fun in the men’s room at the club when he couldn’t wait to get home.

But this was crazy, right?

Wanting to sleep with his attractive neighbor who was a
dangerous gangster, had saved Brick’s life, and also apparently just decided that he wanted
to sleep with Brick despite never having been with a man before?

Definitely crazy.

Like, all the planets in the solar system had aligned in full
batshit formation just for tonight to ensure optimal levels of crazy.

“What if I say no?” Brick challenged.

“Mmm.” Jules hummed thoughtfully. “Then I get to be real
disappointed for a lil’ bit while I think up some way to change your mind.”

“You think it’s gonna be that easy?”

“Trust me. Daddy Jules is very, very convincing.”

“Right.” Brick scoffed, his pulse rising to an eardrum-
shattering level. He could deny it all he wanted to, but they both already knew what was
about to happen. “Sure you are.”

Jules smiled, slid his fingers into Brick’s hair, and pulled him
in for a deep kiss.

Alistair Star didn’t come to Noah Allan’s house looking for a
boy in need of a hard spanking from a man who knows how to give one. Noah was just
meant to be kept as collateral until his uncle could be tracked down. But when the
twenty-two-year-old trust fund brat gets mouthy, Alistair decides it’s long past time
someone took off his belt and put him very firmly in his place.

Noah may be used to buying whatever he wants
and doing as he pleases, but he wouldn’t call himself spoiled. Unfortunately for him, the
dangerous, infuriatingly handsome mob boss holding him prisoner disagrees, and Alistair
doesn’t just plan to teach Noah a shameful lesson that will leave him sore, sorry, and
desperately aroused. He’s going to give Noah exactly what he needs…

A daddy.

Publisher’s Note: A Quick Buck
includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please
don’t buy this book.

Excerpt

“You are an exceptionally rude young man.” Alistair rose
from the piano.

“Says the fuckin’ geezer who’s kidnapping me in my own
house!” Noah growled. “Wow. Fuckin’ dementia settin’ in, Gramps? Do you understand how
crazy you sound?”

“I do believe it’s time for that lesson in manners.” Alistair
slid his belt from his pants, folding it in half and lightly patting it against his palm.

Noah froze, staring stupidly at the belt. He was so stunned
by the clear implication that he laughed.

“I’m going to take you and put you over my knee,” Alistair
said sternly. “I’m going to spank you with this belt until I hear a very sincere apology
followed by absolute and total silence. While we’re staying here, I am going to expect you to
be a model guest. Obedient, quiet, and dare I even say grateful. Do you understand, dear
Noah?”

“You?” Noah laughed again. “You’re going to spank
me?”

“Unless you’d like to apologize right now?”

“Ha!” Noah stood up straight and tall, towering over Alistair
as he taunted, “I’d love to see you fuckin’ try it, old man.”

“Very well.”

In the space of a blink, Alistair grabbed Noah’s arm and
twisted it into his back, dragging him over his knee as he sat down on the bench. It
happened so quickly that Noah didn’t have enough time to register the pain until the belt
cracked over his ass for the first time.

“Oh, fuck!” Noah tried to kick away, but the pressure on his
arm in Alistair’s iron grip made a compelling argument to stay as he was. His ass felt like it
had been branded where the belt had struck, and he hissed angrily. Even through his jeans,
it hurt like hell. “Oh, wow, yeah, fuck you.”

“That didn’t sound like an apology, dear Noah,” Alistair
chided.

“How about you take that ‘dear Noah’ and shove it up
your—oh, fuck!” Noah cried out as the belt hit him again. “Fuck, fuck, fuck!”

“Mmm, that sort of language will simply not do.” The
buckle clinked as Alistair set the belt aside, and he reached around Noah’s hips to grab at
the front of his jeans. “A strong-willed boy such as yourself usually requires additional
motivation.”

“Hey! Stop!” Noah squirmed as Alistair undid the button
and opened up the fly of his jeans in one swift jerk. A rage like he’d never known filled him
when Alistair grabbed the seat of his jeans and pulled them down with his underwear, just
enough to expose his ass to the entire room. “Oh, fuck you!”

“Now.” Alistair had the belt again, and he lightly dragged it
over Noah’s bare cheeks. “Let’s try this again, shall we?”

Noah tried bucking away, but he couldn’t get out of
Alistair’s iron hold. He was furious from being stripped and humiliated like this, and he
refused to comply. “Go fuckin’ die in a fire. A really big fuckin’ fire.”

“You still have plenty of time to apologize.”

“Yeah? But you sure don’t. Bein’ all old and shit. Might
have a heart attack and drop dead right—agh, shit! Shit!” The pain from the belt against his

bare skin was new, burning white hot, and Noah couldn’t explain the overwhelming rush
coming over him.

Definitely didn’t have an explanation for his hard
dick.

There was no way to hide it from Alistair, considering it was
digging into his thigh, and Noah ducked his head, embarrassed and furious he couldn’t
escape. For some reason, being held down was only making him harder, and the vicious
cycle of shame and anger kept right on fueling his persistent erection.

“Why, Noah.” Alistair chuckled low. His voice dropped to a
sultry tone, whispering as if they were lovers as he said, “I’m not sure I should continue your
punishment under these circumstances. Would you like to apologize yet?”

“Eat… a dick,” Noah panted, refusing to acknowledge how
all the little hairs on the back of his neck suddenly stood up from the way Alistair
spoke.

“Mm, I take it that’s a ‘no’?”

“You’re… a fuckin… genius…”

“Well.” Alistair clicked his tongue, the leather creaking as
he raised the belt back up. “I can already see you’re going to be quite a handful.”

“You’ve got no fuckin’ idea, you stupid—ow,
fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck!”

This was going to be a very, very long day.

And he still hadn’t gotten that shower.

Fuck.

Venice, Amalfi – secrets and danger

Blurb

Looking for her wayward son in 1960s Italy, an English widow encounters revelations and begins a dangerous romance.

In Venice Lillian Rutherford meets the ex-gigolo who has shared the last four years of Andrew’s life; his disclosures force her to confront a side of her son that she never suspected – he is bisexual. Going on to Amalfi, she meets the charismatic Prince Massimo Monfalcone, whose gay playboy son is being held to ransom in Corsica with Andrew. Massimo distracts Lillian with his life story: his first wife was murdered in a Sicilian blood-feud; his second wife killed herself because of his infidelity. As they wait for news of their sons, a bond grows between Lillian and the Prince…

Excerpt

Massimo led her across to a wooden bench overlooking the steps down to the platform of rock and the barely whispering sea. ‘I love this house,’ he said as they sat down, ‘but the Amalfi coast doesn’t have much to offer the boys compared to Sardinia or some of the other jet-set hang-outs. Positano used to be chic but it’s become very touristy.’

‘At their age a touristy place ought to be what they’d want: discotheques and bars.’

‘Fausto’s happier in a crypt full of old ledgers, and Fabio prefers to be seen where it’s fashionable to be seen. If he was hanging about in low dives with working-class types and slumming tourists I’d be worried about his security. There’s safety in numbers with his rich society friends, but I do worry that he may acquire a taste for dangerous vices.’

Lillian took a deep breath that owed nothing to the steps. She said: ‘I hope Andrew won’t be a bad influence on him.’

Massimo stared deep into her eyes. He said: ‘On the contrary, he may be a better influence than some of the crowd he usually hangs around with. Your son has a certain amount of culture and sophistication. Perhaps some of that will rub off on Fabio.’

‘Have you met my son?’

He nodded. ‘At Fabio’s birthday party in Siena last April. I didn’t stay long, I didn’t want to spoil his fun with his young friends, but, yes, I met Andrew. He has a lot of charm and although he pretends to be shallow and cynical, I could see that he was a man of sensitivity and deep feelings underneath.’ He paused, still looking at her. ‘The sensitivity he gets from you, I’m quite sure. The shallowness is, I think, a thing of his own making. His looks come from his father’s side, I guess, but there’s something that connects you and him just as there is with me and Fabrizio although he’s the image of his mother. That something, that connection, is what has brought you to Italy. I would go to the ends of the earth for either of my sons.’

A driver tooted his impatience on the next headland. Lillian’s eyes were filmed with tears which she managed not to shed. ‘We’re keeping them waiting,’ she said, gesturing at the group of men at the car.

‘They are paid to wait,’ he said bluntly. ‘This is an important moment for you, for us.’ He took her right hand and held it between both of his. ‘Lillian, if you need to cry, you should cry. There can be no shame between us, the parents of two difficult sons.’

Freeing her hand, she took another deep breath. ‘My son is homosexual,’ she said, meeting his penetrating gaze.

‘I know this,’ he said.

‘He’s more than twice the age of your – Fabio.’ The boy’s name was finally fixed in her mind. ‘He may – corrupt him.’

Massimo smiled into her eyes. ‘My dear Lillian, it’s possible that my useless son will “corrupt” Andrew, who has given up the practice of interior design to go sailing with him. My son too seems to be homosexual. Of course at seventeen he may grow out of it, although I think not in his case. It’s a disappointment, but there are worse things he could be.’

‘I can’t think of many,’ said Lillian wretchedly.

He mocked her with a gentle laugh and patted her hands. ‘By the time I was seventeen I’d made love to every available girl in our village as well as some of their mothers and even some of their brothers.’ Lillian, with an effort, managed not to look shocked. ‘I was lucky,’ he continued. ‘Girls were supposed to be virgins until they married, but a surprising number of them were available for the grandson of Don Massimo Monfalcone. For many Sicilian boys to this day homosexual activity is one of the more respectable ways of acquiring a bit of experience before marriage.’

Lillian supposed he was hinting at some form of degeneracy that was thankfully beyond the reach of her imagination. ‘I shouldn’t be telling you this,’ he apologized. ‘I’m trying to make the point that boys do things they mostly grow out of. I did. Andrew apparently hasn’t. Maybe Fabio will, maybe he won’t, but whatever happens I don’t think your son will have much to do with it.’

‘Between you and Carlo I seem to be getting a whole new sexual education at the age of fifty,’ she said.

He laughed again. ‘Is that how old you are? One would never think so.’

If Nao’s father had kept the drug key in his office desk, what horrors would Nao find once he stepped foot into his father’s home? Nao would rather keep them buried for as long as possible.

Kurosawa knotted the gauze wraps with a tight jerk of his wrist. “The least you could do is not fuck a new recruit at headquarters. It makes it uncomfortable for everyone.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Last night with Hisona.”

“Hisona?” Nao blinked.

“You don’t even know his name? The whole house could hear you screw him all night.”

Hisona was much too forceful of a name and didn’t match Aki’s personality at all. So of course he’d forget it. Apparently Aki could act enough to keep the whole household convinced. With only four days left before jail time, Nao was bound to need Aki’s acting skills again.

Nao grinned. “Aki really knew how to take it. Those recruits are so eager to please.”

“If you want to fuck one, take them to a hotel.”

Nao tried not to laugh at Kurosawa’s reddening face. If it was out of embarrassment or anger, Nao didn’t know, but either way he enjoyed it.

“Taking the time to go to a hotel would’ve killed the mood.” Nao trailed a hand down his own neck to his collarbone. “Have you ever been with a man, Kurosawa? They know exactly what to do during a blowjob.”

Kurosawa puffed out his cheeks. “Couldn’t you go back to the brothel?”

“I thought you’d enjoy me staying in for once. Besides, you’re not in a position to talk to me this way.”

Kurosawa gritted his teeth. “What I’m doing is for the good of the Matsukawa as a whole.”

“You should respect me more as the godfather of this syndicate.”

“Someone has to tell you what everyone is thinking.”

“Good thing they’re not speaking it because I’d punch them in the face. With you, I’m satisfied seeing you get demoted to cutting up dead bodies and burning the Matsukawa furnace once you’re replaced.”

“I’ll be more than happy to do any task that benefits the family.”

Nao laughed and grabbed his phone. He frowned; there were still no new messages from Kohta, which didn’t put him any closer to finding the dealer.

“Fujimoto called last night about a disturbance in his ward.” Nao grinned. “I was in the middle of getting a blowjob, so I told him to handle it. I want to make sure Fujimoto wasn’t an idiot.”

It was no collection of branches, but a human body
slumped against the tree roots.

“Are you all right?” Nao yelled over the cracking
thunder.

No answer came.

Nao dropped his umbrella and crossed the footbridge in a
single stride. The rain trickled down his back, plastering his hair to his neck. As he groped for
a cherry-tree branch to steady himself on the embankment, his clog sank into the mud,
which slathered between his toes. He pulled one foot up, but the shoe stuck, and he tipped
forward. The cold river stung his face, and he spat out the water that had flooded his
mouth.

Nao crawled to the body and came face-to-face with the
unconscious young man. He had to be a few years younger than Nao. Lightning flashed,
exposing the man’s bushy eyebrows and sloping nose. An eye was swollen shut, and blood
dripped from his open mouth. Nao grabbed the arm of the man, who hissed in pain. Blood
poured out from underneath his cut sleeve. Nao swallowed. He hadn’t seen such flowing
blood since that night. The cut was sliced clean and couldn’t have been from the stranger’s
fall in the canal.

Nao pulled at the sleeve and held it against the wound.

“Can you get up?”

Nao received no reply, but he waited, hoping the minute or
two of pressure would close the cut. The warm fluid flowed out between Nao’s fingers.

“Your arm’s in rough shape. I’ll take you to a hospital.”

“No. No hospital,” the injured man said, and then he
muttered something in Korean, but the Korean sounded like the cawing of crows to
Nao.

“Someone there should be able to speak Korean. You need
to get your arm looked at. Come on!”

Nao reached for the man’s uninjured arm, but the stranger
pushed him away with such force Nao fell back into the mud. He curled his fingers into a fist,
and mud oozed out. No matter how much the stranger struggled, Nao wouldn’t leave
him.

The rain drowned out the man’s continued mumbling. He
was probably telling Nao why he couldn’t go to the hospital. Expired visa or lack of
insurance, Nao didn’t need to know.

With an uneven step toward the stranger, Nao realized his
right shoe had stayed in the muck. His bare foot slid through the sludge, and he grimaced.
Lightning flashed, and the stranger’s mouth no longer moved. Nao’s eyes widened. He
couldn’t let another person die in front of him.

“Wake up.”

No reply or movement from the stranger.

Nao clenched his teeth. He grabbed the injured arm,
pressing his thumb into the cut. The man hissed in pain and then spat out more Korean. Nao
backed away. He had deepened the injury, but the cruelty woke the guy up, so it was worth
it.

“Let’s go.”

“No hospitals.”

“We need to get out of the rain before we both get
sick.”

Nao tugged the good arm over his shoulder. The man
moaned as Nao hoisted him up. The stranger was considerably taller, built larger in all
aspects, and he weighed down on Nao’s shoulder. Yet the drive to do something right for
once carried him on.

After the Luchesi mafia family betrays him, assassin Mickey Tamerlane joins with gangster Boss Cold to seek revenge. But as they maneuver to take out their enemies and claim control over the city’s underworld, Mickey finds himself distracted by the newest member of Cold’s crew.

Cocky and handsome, Roger Lorre pushes Mickey’s buttons until Mickey pushes back hard.

Hard enough to hurt.

But no matter how well-used and sore he leaves Roger, once isn’t going to be enough for either of them.

Not even close.

Publisher’s Note: Strapped for Cash is a prequel to Cold Hard Cash and Hard Earned Cash. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

“Don Luchesi is dead.”

“How?” Mickey blurted out.

“Murdered in his very own home,” Cold replied. “I have been waiting years for the old man to kill himself with a heart attack, but someone else decided to speed his demise along. Though I am grateful, this means that certain plans are going to be put into action much sooner than I expected.”

“The city,” Crybaby said, her eyes wide. “We’re takin’ it. We’re gonna do it.”

“Yes,” Cold confirmed. “With your help, my dear Gentlemen, the city is finally going to be ours.”

“Fuck yeah,” Jules cheered.

“Who killed the Don?” Duncan asked quietly.

“I do not know.” Cold seemed a little annoyed at that fact. “But that will actually end up working to our advantage.”

“How?”

“Because if I don’t know, it means the Luchesis don’t know.” Cold leaned forward, his usually calm face lit up with excitement. “The most likely suspects are his three sons, Cristian, Luigi, and Matteo. The Don had yet to name an heir, and there will most certainly be a struggle for power.”

“The ring,” Mickey recalled. “He didn’t pass on that stupid ring.”

“Precisely,” Cold said. “Matteo was favored to take his father’s place, but his brothers are hungry for it, too. This also works to our advantage.”

“What do we do?” Crybaby asked eagerly. “Kill ‘em?”

“I appreciate the enthusiasm, but no,” Cold drawled. “They’re about to do their own killing, and we’re going to help them right along.” He looked to Mickey. “Do you remember when you were so kind as to discover Tony Luchesi’s nasty theft?”

“Yeah,” Mickey replied. “What about it?”

“Well, it turns out he was stealing that money to help fund Cristian’s future claim to the throne.” Cold pursed his lips. “Such a shame.”

“The bar… it was Luigi’s, wasn’t it?”

“Yes,” Cold confirmed. “Piece by piece, we’re going to turn the three brothers against one another. The family will split apart. Everyone will try to pick a side, and the three darling siblings will each be attempting to make the best case for themselves while valiantly trying to murder the others.”

“Chaos,” Alistair said with a knowing nod. “It’s going to be total and complete chaos.”

“You knew this was going to happen,” Mickey accused. “You knew the Don hadn’t picked an heir and was going to die without one.”

“I knew he was arrogant enough to think he wasn’t going to die anytime soon and foolish enough not to listen to his doctors,” Cold said. “The chances of him dying prematurely without settling his affairs was very likely. I had planned to use his death to propel our takeover of the city. I did not expect, however, for him to be murdered.”

“I call that a fuckin’ bonus.” Jules laughed. “Them stupid ass brothers are gonna be at each other’s fuckin’ throats thinkin’ one of them killed Daddy.”

“So.” Jerry perked up. “What is our first move, Monsieur Cold? What would you have us do?”

“Everything we need is right here under this roof,” Cold replied, offering a coy smile.

“You know we’re in a gay bar, right?” Duncan asked in a loud whisper.

“Yes.” Cold looked irritated. “There is a young man who works here at night as a dancer. He goes by the name ‘Galavant.’ He also washes dishes over at Ragazzi’s.”

“How is a dishwasher gonna help?”

“That restaurant is the Luchesi’s big honey pot,” Jules replied, eyeing Duncan until he cowered. “Galavant is our fuckin’ way in. Payroll for all the drugs, brothels, and illegal type businesses gets banked there.”

“How much?” Mickey asked.

“Millions,” Cold replied, looking very pleased with himself. “The Luchesis are arrogant enough to believe no one would dare steal from them. That arrogance is going to be their undoing. First, we take their money. Next, we’re going to take their drugs. The bouncer here, Reggie? His mother is a maid at one of the hotels the Luchesis run as a brothel. They use the basement there to prepare their product before distribution.”

“So, we’re gonna take their drugs?” Pym perked up.

“No.”

Pym pouted and sank back down in his chair.

“We’re going to tip off the police to the location and allow them to have the glory of the biggest drug bust this city has ever seen. It’s a little gift to our friend Officer Carville for his very timely payments. He’ll look so fetching on the front page. Might even be chief one day. We’re also going to make sure the police’s anonymous source is identified as a member of the Luchesi family.”

“We take out the money, the drugs, okay, but what about the judges? All the politicians?” Crybaby frowned. “We don’t own any of them. We barely own any cops.”

“Never fear,” Cold soothed. “Once the blood starts filling the streets, they’ll come to us. They won’t have a choice. We’re going to be their safe harbor from the storm, you see. They won’t care who’s in charge as long as peace is established. And if not… well.” He smirked slyly. “I have other ways.”

“Okay.” Mickey grinned. “So, when do we start?”

“Soon. You, Jules, and our newest member will be going.” Cold waved to Alistair.

Alistair left his perch on the desk to open the door, gesturing for someone to come in.

Mickey turned to see who it was, and he couldn’t hide his shock.

That son of a bitch…

It was the crazy guy from the gas station.

“This is Roger Lorre,” Cold said. “He is a talented little thief and an expert safecracker. He will be accompanying you to Ragazzi’s. Say hello, Mr. Lorre.”

“Hello, boys,” Roger said, his eyes immediately focusing on Mickey. “Well, hi there. Long time, no see.”

Mickey gritted his teeth.

Cold glanced between them. “Am I to assume you’ve already met Mickey Tamerlane then?”

“Mickey, huh?” Roger grinned crookedly at him, whistling low. “Mm, and aren’t you just so fine.”

Excerpt

(Emilio POV)

“What do you mean you lost them?” I snarl at the soldier in front of me. Ignacio’s steady presence is behind me, most likely he’s here trying to calm my murderous rage. Fuck, it’s a good thing I don’t have a weapon on me, or this sniveling coward would already be on the ground staining the beautiful floor with his blood. Probably why I’m not allowed weapons in the house.

“They just…disappeared,” the soldier whispers, cowering and trying to shuffle backward. That’s not going to happen.

“Well, this looks cozy. Where’s Il Padrone?” Antonio walks into the library, coming up to me and bumping his shoulder against mine. I blink, distracted, letting the fury ebb away.

“He’s visiting with his uncle in his office,” I murmur, splitting my attention between Antonio and the soldier in front of me.

“Well, that’s not fun. It’s been too long since we’ve had fun.”

I raise my eyebrows when Antonio moves in front of me and cups my face in his hands. He leans in and covers my mouth with his, running his fingers up to my hair. My breath hitches as his full lips mold to mine, and I can’t resist wrapping my arms around him. We’ve never kissed before, but all the teasing we’ve done since the day we made our truce in his room comes rushing back when he groans. I take advantage and push my tongue into his mouth, coaxing more of those delicious sounds from him. My hands can’t decide where to touch him, all I know is I’m burning for his touch. He pulls back for air, and I lean forward, nipping at his neck, enjoying the way he shudders against me. I’m so distracted I don’t hear the footsteps heading toward us. The moment a hand clamps down on my shoulder, I jump. Fuck. This can’t be good.

I’m roughly yanked around and meet the eyes that I always seem to lose myself in, every, single, time. Even now, when their vivid blue has darkened in rage, I can’t help but think they’re the only thing that tethers me in this life. He brings me comfort no matter what I see reflected back at me. My breath hitches, and I relax immediately, not fighting the way he pulls me to him. The kiss he gives me is nothing short of pure domination and I give myself over to it. He grabs my throat in his hand and squeezes. I bring my arms up and clutch his biceps, encouraging him to take everything he wants from me. It’s over all too soon when he releases me and his lips leave mine. The violent blue has calmed, it’s softened, and I can’t help the feeling of awe that sweeps through me. That’s mine. Only I bring that out.His forehead rests against mine and only our heavy breathing can be heard for a few beats of time.

“Padrone.” I know what he hears in my voice. We don’t put words to it, but neither of us can ignore that it’s there.

“Thank fuck. I thought for a moment he was going to kill the only lead we had on Sebastian and Christopher,” Antonio states.
