We are not alone. In the year 2050 mankind’s never-ending quest for proof life exists in the universe is answered—in the form of massive spaceships that appear without warning above the capitals of all major nations. The name of their planet is Tah’Nar—and it is dying. The United States sets up a lottery system, and each young man between the ages of twenty-three and twenty-eight is assigned a number. Once a year, for the next five years, numbers will be drawn and a new set of one thousand males will be collected. The media coined the expression ‘The Harvest’ for when the Tah’Narian’s collect these young men.

He was supposed to be safe.

Captain Keyno Landium Shou is a Tah’Narian starship captain who has been granted the right to take a mate, any mate, he wants during the last harvest on Earth. Dale was seventeen when the aliens first appeared. His parents assumed he’d be safe since the final collection would be done before he turned twenty-three. He didn’t fall within the guidelines established, so they took for granted he had nothing to fear.

They were wrong.

Excerpt from The Harvest: Taken

I was seventeen when the aliens first appeared, so my parents assumed I was safe. The final collection would occur before I turned twenty-three. I didn’t fall within the guidelines the aliens had established, so I thought I had nothing to fear.

I was wrong.

Exactly one week before my twenty-third birthday, an extraction team showed up to collect me. My parents were distraught, and I fought them, but nothing stopped them from taking me. Somebody somewhere had made a terrible mistake. But no one would listen to me.

“I’m not supposed to be collected!” Men in SWAT gear dragged me to a waiting van. One of the aliens stood off to the side, watching. I dug my feet into the ground, trying to halt the parade of their progress. Two human soldiers were beside me, trying to secure my arms behind my back, but I kept twisting and jerking, frantic to break their hold on me. “Listen to me! I’m only twenty-two years old.”

“Son of a bitch, stop jumping around, you little fag,” the man to the right of me hissed as he grabbed at my wrist and twisted.

“Fuck!” I yelled as pain radiated up my arm. I managed to get my other arm free long enough to get in a good solid shot at the asshole who was currently trying to twist my hand off. I busted his nose. Anger boiled in his eyes as he whipped his arm back to strike me.

Before the blow could land, the Tah’Narian with the extraction team jerked the man away from me by the front of his shirt. Another human took his team member’s place immediately, but my focus was on the alien, not the other man holding my arm.

The alien lifted the human completely off the ground and shook him like a rag doll, snapping his head back and forth. The Tah’Narian’s low growls sent shivers up my spine as he spoke to the team member. And his strength was astounding. The man the alien lifted wasn’t a small guy, by any means, and he lifted him with one hand. Then he tossed the guy to the ground, pointed at me and babbled something I couldn’t understand.

“I… I… okay. I won’t touch him again.” The team member stumbled back to the van, never looking back at me.

Good God, the extraction team and that alien could somehow understand each other.  Momentarily distracted, I didn’t have time to react when another team member handcuffed both my arms tightly behind me. Someone on each side held me tightly, determined to march me to that waiting van.

“Let go of me, dammit!”

“Stop fighting, kid. You can’t win against five of us.” The new guard fastened a second set of cuffs higher on my forearms. “Plus there’s that alien, too. You just saw his strength. The more you fight, the harder this is going to be.”

I slumped in their arms, the fight draining out of me. “What did it say?”

“Basically, that you’ve been chosen by one of them,” one of the guys from the team leaned down and whispered to me. “I’m sorry, kid. Never heard of something like this happening. No more talking, or they’ll gag you next.”

Horrified, I hung in their arms as they dragged me to a waiting van. I desperately wanted to ask him what he meant about being chosen, but after his warning, I was afraid to say anything. What the hell was going on, and why were the rules being changed all of a sudden? These aliens weren’t supposed to be able to pick and choose. That defeated the whole purpose of having a lottery system.

Adapting is a word Dale Michaels has become familiar with. As he settles into his new life with the Tah’Narian starship captain Keyno, Dale has adapted to life with an alien, space travel, and having his body mutated so he can carry a young. He’s closed the chapter on his old life.

But life is never that simple.

Even though Dale loves Keyno, he still struggles with the way the Tah’Narians harvest young males as mates. Dale finds himself hijacked by his own body, courtesy of his extra dose of Tah’Narian DNA. Laken Fihk has no idea his destiny waits for him on the Unity, a Tah’Narian starship. But all it takes is one look at the incapacitated male, and Laken knows that’s his fated mate. The species is considered sadistic, cruel, and without mercy—bloodthirsty monsters who kill without regard.

Torin, member of the Blishue House of Dorntok, has found his mate and nothing will stop him from claiming Laken. So what if he has Tah’Narians doubting his honor, Ne Reynians wanting to kill him, and a battle brewing that could jeopardize all he holds dear? Excerpt

Bitter wind violated my exposed flesh, sending a deep chill
to the very core of my bones. Mother had warned me that London was cold, but I thought
she meant cold like Melbourne in winter, not winter in Antarctica. If it wasn’t for the fact
that my jumpers were all packed down at the very bottom, I would have stopped and added
an extra layer of protection. But I was cold and feeling far too lazy to reorder my bag, so I
went without. Yes, I was an idiot.

As per the map’s instructions, I turned right onto Gillingham
Street. It was becoming really

hard to focus on the map because the streets were barely
lit. I cursed myself inwardly that I didn’t just buy a portable phone charger, but I would be
sure to rectify my error first thing tomorrow. My goodness, this would be a lot smoother if I
was using my phone’s Google Maps. Anyway, what was done was done.

For a Saturday, there was very little nightlife, which I
thought was odd considering what I knew about Londoners and drinking, although I have to
say my knowledge on the subject was like ninety-five percent based on Geordie Shore
reruns. But still, there was not a soul on the street.

I could feel my anxiety grow; it wasn’t helped by the fact
that some random man told me someone was trying to kill me—though he wasn’t some
random man, was he? He knew my name. I felt a shiver run up my arms; I didn’t think I
could feel any colder. Maybe I should have stayed and heard him out before running
away…again, if I had, maybe he had a portable phone charger.

Looking back down at the map, I estimated I had maybe
another six-minute walk ahead, although I wished I had just paid for the stupid cab fare, but
I really couldn’t justify the cost for, what, maybe four hundred metres. I walked further
every day on my morning run.

The light flickered in the lamppost above. How strange. It
flickered again, but this time, it didn’t light back up. I was plunged into darkness as the rest
of the streetlights also extinguished.

THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP

My anxiety started to peak, and my instincts told me to get
out of there fast. All of a sudden, I felt eyes on me. Shit shit shit. My pace quickened into a
slight jog, my bag swinging heavy behind me.

Why did it feel like the approaching darkness was watching
me? I looked up to the sky where once a moon sat giving light to the sky, but now it was
gone, shrouded by darkness. I started to shake uncontrollably; I couldn’t tell if it was from
the cold or my anxiety. Both seemed to be at war for dominance over my body and mind.

A sound emerged through the darkness, muttered voices. I
started to run, every fibre of my body telling me to do so. My flight response was fully
active, I flew down the street, but the voices seemed to be gaining on me. They were now
close enough to hear what it was they were chanting. “Consumptura est lux tenebris.” They
repeated it over and over.

I crossed the street in mere seconds, but was stopped from
going further by a gate of iron. I turned to go around, but to the left of me, I found that the
men were closing in on me. Looking to the right, they were doing the same yet only metres
away.

Fuck fuck fuck, my only option was to jump the fence. It
wasn’t very tall, so I knew I could make short work of it. I put my hands on the spikes and
pushed down, lifting my body. I swung my legs up and jumped down. The hem of my shirt
got caught on a spike, lifting my shirt up, trapping my arms. “FUUUUCK!” I yelled, trying to
fumble myself free. I was shaking so violently, I could barely unhook it, the process taking
minutes rather than seconds.

It came loose just as the men closed in. It was then that I
realised my duffle bag’s strap must have also gotten caught on the spike as it lay broken just
on the other side of the fence, but I could clearly see the men’s robes of red now. I hadn’t
the time to retrieve it. I’d have to let it go and hope I found it later after I had made it to a
police officer.

Even the darkness seemed to draw dimmer. How was that
possible? Turning, I started to run, pushing past plants and shrubs, pulling my shirt back
down as I ran.

Their chant suddenly changed, I could now hear their voices
ringing in my head as if they were whispering right into my ears. “Arbores et plantae saxa
animari, prohibere eum.” Their chant had changed. It felt as if the trees were drawing
closer, which couldn’t be so.

Something grabbed my foot. I let out a scream as I fell to
the ground hard. What was that? I looked around, but all I could see was grass. I must have
tripped over a root or something, though I couldn’t see one. Getting back on my feet, my
left ankle felt swollen, and as I put pressure on it, I let out a loud scream. I hoped against
hope that it was just twisted and not broken. I tried to run, but the pain was just too great.

CRASH. The gate lifted from the ground and flew into a
tree. The robed men continued to follow me. FUCK.

“HELP! Someone, anyone, help me!” I shouted.

One of the men raised his hand at me, and my voice
faltered. I tried to let out a scream, but my voice was gone. What in the name of Ursula the
sea witch was this? All I could do was try limping away.

Roots lifted from the ground before my very eyes, spraying
moss into the air, leaving the earth a maze of traps, clearly designed to stop my escape.
What was I to do? I tried to hop over them, the pain forcing tears to fall from my eyes. But
the pain didn’t stop me. I continued to push myself, for my life clearly depended on it.

“Corrumpam vineam eius,” shouted one of the robed men.
Instantly, vines fell from the trees and launched themselves at me. I ducked and missed the
first one, but the rest found their target, instantly forcing me to the ground, wrapping
around me like dangerous pythons.

The roots curled up, pulling me to face the robed men,
forcing me to watch as they approached. The men were dressed in robes of red. I could just
make out a crucifix scar on one of the men’s outstretched arms. Wrapped around their
hands were what looked to be rosary beads, but something looked wrong. It seemed like
the beads dug into their hands, drawing out a dark fluid.

The wind changed, and the smell of metallic ooze hit my
sinuses, causing my nose to curl. That answered the question of what the fluid was: it was
blood. I struggled with everything left in my body, but it was no use, the vines just grew
tighter and tighter, almost to the point of breaking bone.

“Help me,” I prayed inwardly. “Someone, please.”

A man in the centre stepped forward chanting with the
others, “Accipere auferat divina virtute.” Something jabbed into me sharp like a needle,
causing unimaginable pain to flow through me. I screamed and screamed, but no sound
escaped me. Whatever it was it felt like it was crawling through my veins.

He continued forward towards me, chanting. Only a few
feet away, I could now clearly make out his face that was hidden by a hood. He looked to be
in his mid-fifties with a full white beard, long hooked nose, and beady black eyes. He
kneeled beside me and raised his outstretched hand over my face. I tried to close my eyes,
but they were forced open. The man squeezed his palm into the rosary beads, which I could
now see were made of jagged barbed wire that cut into his flesh. As the man squeezed,
blood fell like water droplets over my face. On impact with my flesh, it sizzled like acid; it
smelled like it too. I was truly dead. My only thought was on my
parents, hoping they would be able to get past my death. My vision started to
fade to black. This was the end of me. My eyes finally closed. I had no strength anymore.
Maybe death wouldn’t be so bad? And with that thought, it all went silent.

BANG!

The earth reverberated. There was loud running, yelling,
and what sounded like sandbags hitting a wall, but I couldn’t open my eyes to see. They felt
like they were welded shut.

“You must continue the chant!” shouted a voice that felt
like spiders crying in my ears.

The chanting started again. “Accipere auferat—” But was
cut off mid-sentence as what sounded like thunder struck the earth. I needed to run, move,
get up, break the bonds holding me. My brain told me this, but it was as if I was buried
alive.

Something dropped beside me. It radiated warmth. I
wanted to lean into it. I tried to but failed. I wanted it closer. “Please come closer,” I begged
the universe, and by some grace, it did. I felt a hand on my cheek; it was warm to the touch.
Who was this? What was this? Again, I tried to open my eyes but failed. I started to panic
again. This couldn’t be the end. My mind started to race. Mentally, I was thrashing back and
forth, wishing my body to do the same. This feeling of disconnection was the scariest thing I
had ever felt.

“By Zeus, Alex, gods fucking dammit, your lips are blue,”
growled a familiar voice. Was it the Adonis? It sounded like him, and for some unexplainable
reason, I hoped it was him. I could feel his hands on me. Everywhere he touched, I felt
warmth.

“Jin, we’re going to need a recovery charm,” he yelled at an
unknown person.

“Babes, I am fucking busy if you didn’t realise, you know,
holding off the Priests of Bellum Sacrum,” bit back an unknown, effeminate voice.

“Fuck it all to Hades, you couldn’t have just come with me
at the train station.” The Adonis’s voice turned gravelly. But I couldn’t follow him at the train
station because he was a stranger. I didn’t know him; therefore, I couldn’t trust him. But was
he here now to save me? So maybe that meant I could trust him?

“Fuck it, we’ll have to swap,” called the Adonis back to the
person he called Jin, I assumed.

No, don’t leave me! He can not leave me. Don’t take the
warmth away. I’m so very cold. As if he could hear me, he assured, “Don’t worry, Alex, I’ll be
back.” Then he was gone. The coldness set back in, his warmth only a haunting
memory.

Thunder struck the earth again; there were more screams
of pain and terror. The smell of metallic ooze grew almost too strong to possibly bear. A
thud beside me. Was it the Adonis? It couldn’t be because this person didn’t radiate warmth
like he had. Was he friend or foe?

“Queen, don’t even stress, okay, I’m here to help you, boo.”
It was that voice again; it was distinctly fem, but like fem male, not a fem female. I assumed
it was Jin, but I really wished I could open my eyes and stop all the guesswork.

“Álysoi kaí desmá nýn spázete.” I felt warmth all over my
body. Suddenly, I felt weightless like I was flying in the air. The darkness began to fade as a
white light came towards me. I tried to meet it halfway.

Light burst into my reality as my eyes flew open,
temporarily blinding me as my eyes readjusted. A man who couldn’t be any older than
myself stood over me, his hair fairy-floss pink, kept neat and short on the side with a front
fringe that covered the tops of his brows.

“Is he awake yet?” yelled the Adonis from somewhere just
out of my field of view. “Yes, fuck, give me a second, Miss Bossy Tiger,” snapped the pink-
haired man. He turned and spoke to me, trying for a soothing voice, but came off very
condescending.

“Hi, Alex, my name is Jin. I’m going to need you to stand up.
Can you do that for me, dolls?” But wasn’t I tied to the ground by vines?

“Jin, get him the fuck up now. We need to move!” said the
Adonis, running back into view. “I’m trying,” he responded.

“Then try harder.”

Before I could process what was happening, one of the
robed figures instantly appeared

behind the Adonis, bloodied dagger outstretched ready to
strike, going for the killing blow. “NOOOOOOOO!” I screamed, sending out a blast of energy
that felt like it came from my

very soul. I couldn’t let the Adonis die.

Gusts of power forced the robed man into the air, flying
back with a loud crunching sound

into a tree. The dagger burst into smoke. It took me a
moment to realise what it was I had done. My body retracted inwardly, instantly forming a
ball. What had I just done? I started to rock

back and forth, tears falling from my eyes.

THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP

I was a freak, and I may have just killed someone. I needed
my mother to tell me it would be okay, but she wasn’t there, so I didn’t know what to do. I
needed to know I didn’t just kill someone. “Shhhh, calm down, it will all be okay,” said Jin
softly.

But it wasn’t going to be okay; nothing was. It would never
be okay again. “Right, fuck this. Get the fuck up now, idiot, before you get us all killed,”
growled the Adonis.

I just looked at him, like was he kidding? Like really, was he
kidding? The rudeness. I was

going through something. Instantly, my anxiety and grief
turned to anger like a light switch. I was standing up, pointing my finger at him. “Who the
hell do you think you are? Do not EVER talk to me like that again, do you understand?”

The corners of his mouth turned up slightly; the barest
whisper of a smile ghosted his face. “That got you up, now didn’t it?”

own demons.

Williams. However, Adam’s dangerous obsession with revenge threatens to not only put the
entire operation in jeopardy, but his relationship with Eric too.

Excerpt from Broken World

Adam moved as soon as the L.S.A agents did. He slammed into
Elle and knocked her to the ground. As the gunfire started, Adam kept her covered with his
own body. Beneath him her screams were barely audible over the shooting. It was not just
coming from the White Tower, but from the opposite direction where the barracks had been
located.

Then he felt a hand on his arm. Glancing up he was relieved to
see Eric leaning down over them. Adam reacted immediately. He got to his feet and dragging
Elle up with him, Adam pushed her into Eric’s arms.

“Go!” he snapped when he saw how Eric hesitated. “I’ll be
right behind you!”

Lifting Elle up off the ground, Eric started to run back towards
the bridge and Perses. The gunfire began to fade into the background as the L.S.A seemed to
now be concentrating on whoever it was who had started shooting at them.

They had passed the ruins of the Bell Tower when it happened.
Adam felt something crash into him, and he was thrown back into the masonry. Pain
exploded from his left shoulder and travelled all the way down his arm.

“Eric!” he tried to shout, but the pain had robbed his voice of
its strength and his boyfriend’s name came out as a choked whisper.

“I’m afraid he’s long gone,” Neil’s sneering figure appeared in
Adam’s line of vision. “It’s just you and me!”

Neil reached down and dragged Adam back to his feet by his
good arm. He looked battered and almost deranged. Neil’s nose was still bleeding and when
he spoke Adam could see blood staining his teeth red. His eyes were wild and one of his
pupils was enlarged. There was blood in his hair, matting the blond against his head. Still
despite all this, he seemed supercharged with his fury. All of it was directed at Adam.

“Dad’s going to be pretty pissed off about this mess!” Neil
snarled as he started to pull Adam back towards where Traitor’s Gate had once stood. “But
maybe if I bring him you, he will be more inclined to look passed all of this!”

Adam tried to dig his heels into the ground, to make it as
difficult for Neil as possible but his struggles barely seemed to make a difference.

“Eric!” he croaked into his radio. As soon as he spoke, Neil
lunged forwards and ripped it from his ear. Suddenly free, Adam drew back whilst his
uninjured hand went for his gun. Neil was on him before he could raise the weapon. He
struck Adam hard around the side of the head. Pain blossomed from the impact as he once
more fell to the ground. The cry that escaped Adam as he landed amused Neil. His snarl
twisted into a sadistic grin as he once more hauled Adam back to his feet. For a few seconds,
the pain forced Adam let himself be dragged through the former Traitor’s Gate site and
towards the river.

If he gets me back into south London, then it’s all
over…

Adam renewed his struggling. He could not move his left arm
and Neil still had hold of his right, so he quickly changed tactics. Using his momentum to
push himself closer to the other man, Adam brought his knee up between Neil’s legs with as
much force as he could muster. Neil yelled angrily, but he did not let Adam go as he doubled
over. His action jerked Adam off his feet, and he would have fallen had Neil not kept his hold
on his arm.

“You’re going to fucking pay for that!” Neil screamed furiously
as he slammed Adam against the metal railings that cordoned off the Thames from the
Tower of London site. One hand still held Adam firmly in place whilst the other closed
around his throat.

Adam gasped. Pinned between Neil’s body and the railing, he
was unable to move more than a token struggle. He tried to pull his arm free, but with the
pressure on his neck increasing Adam was finding it impossible to breathe. Neil loomed over
him, and he was close enough that Adam could see the red lines streaking through the
whites of his eyes. He was not trying to kill Adam, just force him into unconsciousness. This
thought gave him little comfort. If he was taken back to the L.S.A headquarters, then he
would be dead by the end of the day.

Adam’s vision was starting to blur, and he had stopped fighting.
He could feel the cold press of the railing at his back and the metal shaking under their
combined weight.

“Neil…” Adam choked out with the last of his strength. “The
railing…”

Yet as he spoke, he felt it give way. Adam shot his arm out,
trying to reach for something – anything – to save him, but his hand closed around nothing
other than air. As he felt himself falling, Neil drew back and managed to catch his footing
right on the edge. The sight of him stumbling onto the firmer ground was the last thing
Adam saw as he hit the water. Immediately as the cold river enveloped him, Adam fought for
the surface. However, with only the use of one arm, he was unable to break his head above
the water. Feebly he tried to kick, but his already oxygen-starved lungs could not take
anymore. Adam barely had a moment to feel afraid before he blacked out.

Series: End of
the Line
, Book 1 in the award-winning Jake’s
Bar series, is a steamy, M/M romantic suspense featuring a rainbow-colored bar full of
quirky characters, and all the romance you can handle. It’s a place where you can always find
support (and a cold beer) when life spins out of control. So, download today, and get ready
to fall in love with Jake’s Bar.

Excerpt

A gay bar. Thank you, Jesus. A fucking gay bar. Loud and
proud. Con’s kind of place, but none of Murphy’s men would be caught dead in here. Con’s
body hurt all over, but they hadn’t found him. He’d given his pursuers the slip and was out of
the rain.

About an hour ago—close to two in the morning—Jake had
flipped the lights on and kicked everybody out. People barely dared to finish their drinks
when the big, bulky man with his booming voice told them to
go the fuck home. Con would be
surprised if any of them would come back. Damn, Jake was something else. Con had a thing
for guys who took charge and thinking of it sent sparks down his spine.

Jake had offered Con to call it a night as soon as the last
guest had left the place. Clearly, he hadn’t missed that Con was moving slower and slower as
the night progressed. And fuck, his ribs hurt something fierce. Still, he had declined Jake’s
offer to leave right away. The bar owner had raised an eyebrow, but much to his relief, Jake
had started to put the chairs up himself while Con got a broom. And every time he tried to
do anything but sweep, Jake had thundered at him to stay out of the way.

“Are you trying to dig a hole with that broom? I think that
corner is clean enough,” Jake said quietly from across the room, his tall frame propped
against the bar—arms crossed—watching. Jake’s calm focus sent chills over Con’s body as he
forced himself to relax with a few more long inhales and exhales. His overtired brain fired
some images of being at the receiving end of Jake’s laser sharp attention under different
circumstance—with a whole lot less distance between them, and fewer clothes. Jake was
hot in an angry, pissed-off way. Square. Solid. A force to be reckoned with.

Loud tapping of Jake’s fingers onto the bar brought Con
back from his wayward thoughts. For a moment, the impatient rhythm was the only sound,
then Jake let out a huff of air and said, “Listen, I’m not sure how to ask this, but—do you
have anywhere to go tonight?”

“Yes, of course, I—” Con’s answer had been a reflex, but he
actually had no idea how to end this sentence.

“You can stay here if you have nowhere safe to go.”

Nowhere safe. How did he know? Con’s heart skipped a beat and then started to race again in his
chest. His eyes shot over to the front door.
How
the fuck did he know?

“Hey, calm down.” Jake pushed himself up from the counter
and walked a few steps closer but then stopped again. “You have no defensive wounds. And,
well, you’re a big dude, so I wonder what happened to you tonight.”

Three against one. I never had a chance.

“It’s fine. You’re safe. Is it okay if I touch you?” Jake was
suddenly by his side, his voice soft. Gently, a hand came down on his shoulder. “It’s okay.
Why don’t you just stay on my couch tonight?”

The warmth of Jake’s hand seeped through his skin. Con
gritted his jaw to steel himself against the sudden need to lean in. Any other time, he’d have
given Jake crap for treating him like a wounded animal, but his beat-up body was starting to
give in on him. “That would be great,” he managed through clenched teeth.

Deception is new to Greyson
and Morgen, but they’ll soon learn it has surrounded them all along.

Blurb

Greyson Variusdraconis is a newly shifted dragon searching
for purpose. Growing up in the Consilium Veneficus, his tutors taught him not to trust Fate.
Raised by his elder brother who serves their king directly, Greyson still lives under his
sibling’s roof. King Varius recently signed a treaty, so Greyson’s job is guarding wizards.
Greyson finds it boring, and he worries his brother will never accept his desire to avoid a

political arranged marriage.

As a child, Morgen Bassett struggled to find his footing. Two
centuries later, the wizard works in a tiny library, lacks family, and has a rented room barely
large enough for its furniture. Although Morgen’s early education included mentions of
matebonds, the split between the Council of Sorcery and Shifters and the Consilium changed
everything. With no promise of his other half or anything else, Morgen is doing little more
than surviving.

On an otherwise normal trip to the supermarket, Greyson
and Morgen meet, and neither man is prepared for the force of their connection. Not long
after the sparks fly between them, Greyson accepts a mission to infiltrate the Draconis High
Court of D’Vaire. The pair will have to find a way to stay together. Should they be successful
in gaining entry, they’ll also need to learn how to unearth all the D’Vaire secrets. However,
Greyson and Morgen will soon find that nothing about their lives is what it seems.

Excerpt

When Morgen lifted to his toes and tilted his chin up for a kiss,
Greyson’s mouth landed on the wizard’s, and he tugged him into his arms for a hug.
Everything in Greyson settled for a minute, then his worry over the conversation they
needed to have filled his senses again.

“Sorry I’m late.”

“Was there traffic?” Morgen asked, stepping away from
Greyson and leading him to his room.

“No, my brother wanted to talk to me.”

“Is everything okay?”

“I hope so,” Greyson said. “Sit on the bed with me.”

Once Morgen was settled on the bed next to Greyson, he
gently pushed some of his bangs out of the wizard’s unique eyes. There was concern in
them, and Greyson wanted to alleviate it, so he got straight to the point.

“I’m being sent on assignment in a few weeks. King Varius and
my brother are going to help me get into the sanctuary at D’Vaire. We need to figure out
how to recruit dragons. Either we discover D’Vaire is not what it seems, or I study the
Council to find the weak points so we can advertise that the Council is inferior to the
Consilium. They want me to stay until I gain everyone’s trust, so they expect I’ll be gone for
many months or longer.”

Morgen’s gaze hit his lap, and he exhaled heavily. Instead of
putting his hand into Greyson’s as he usually did, Morgen clasped them together and put
them between his legs.

“You’re leaving?”

“In a couple of weeks, yes,” Greyson said. “It has me thinking
about us. We don’t know everything about each other after a week, but we’re both
determined to learn more. We’re united in following what our souls and Fate are telling us.
I’d hoped someday to ask you to move to Court Varius. Today at lunch, I was looking around
online and found that there’s a library within biking distance from my brother’s house. I
thought it could possibly be a good place for you to work if you wanted.”

“I biked to work prior to finding this room.”

The words were soft, and Morgen still wouldn’t look at
him.

“Come to D’Vaire with me. We could work on our relationship
while I handle my assignment. We’ll potentially be there for a long time. I bet we’ll be ready
to seal our bond before we learn the things King Varius wants to know. When we return to
Court Varius, we could be bonded mates. My brother wouldn’t be able to say shite about
political marriages or anything else. We’d be together, and he’d have to accept it.”

Morgen’s head lifted, and he stared at Greyson for several
seconds, then he bit his bottom lip. “You want me to go with you?”

“Didn’t I just ask you to? Of course I do. Think about it. Our
only job would be research. That’s something we both love, and we’d be together the whole
time. We’d get to learn everything about each other, and these feelings we’re building would
grow.”

“How could I go?”

“We’ll figure it out. I promise. There’s no question that I’ll leave
here without you. I can’t say no to my king, but I think I can be pretty convincing. You do
seem to like me.”

With a small smile, Morgen reached over and slipped his hand
into Greyson’s. “There’s nothing keeping me bound to my job or this room. I don’t like the
idea of springing us on your brother when we get back, though.”

“We’ll tell him before we make the trip home. No worries.
We’ll figure out the best way to tackle the entire situation as a team. What do you say? Do
you want to handle this secret mission with me?”

“As long as you promise I get to take a trip to the Spectra
Library.”

“I’m not leaving the Council without seeing it either,” Greyson
assured him. “What do you say we get some takeaway and start our research?”

“A kiss could sway me.”

Greyson grinned. His fingers danced over Morgen’s jaw, his
lovely lips, then Greyson settled his mouth on the wizard’s. Morgen touched his tongue to
Greyson’s, and all thoughts of subterfuge, D’Vaire, and giant libraries flowed out of his
brain.

An ex-Army prince must
protect the man he loves from his treasonous family

Blurb

Life couldn’t get any more twisted and convoluted if it tried.
Christian hates his parents as much as they hate him, but he never expected them to throw
him in a cell when he blurted out he was bisexual. Their public image is important to them
because it hides the transgressions they’ve subjected many people to over the years. People
Christian mourn every day because he couldn’t save them. Reading is an escape, and one
place gives him the solitude he needs to shore his defences – and the view isn’t too bad
either.

Oscar is living his dream. The owner of a beautiful cafe
slash bookshop slash library, he is never happier than when he is working, which is all the
time. When Prince Christian becomes a regular, Oscar tries to stop his attraction to him, but
the man is like a god. A haunted god, but nonetheless. His scrutiny of the man means he
notices when Christian nears breaking point, but he has no idea what to do about it.
Christian offers to find him a Daddy, but Oscar hesitates. Does Christian really want to help
or is he feeling sorry for him?

When their attraction persuades Christian to take the role
of Oscar’s Daddy for himself, can he keep Oscar safe when he goes up against the people
who wish to harm those they love?

This is an MM book containing BDSM scenes and D/s
dynamics in all forms. It also has lots of loving, friendships, family drama and, of course, a
HEA.

Excerpt

“Would you like some company?” he asked.

Christian smiled. “Sure. Have a seat.”

“I don’t have to if you want some peace. I didn’t realise Hilary
had…”

“Sit down, little one,” Christian murmured.

Oscar slid into the seat opposite him, pulling his cup and cake
towards him. He was quiet for a moment before he peered at Christian again. “Does it
hurt?”

Christian chuckled. “A little. Eating is tiresome because it makes
my jaw ache, but I can manage.”

“Are your ribs the same?” Raising his eyebrows, Christian tilted
his head. “I saw you wince a couple of times.”

“Yes. My ribs are decorated like a rainbow at present.”

Oscar gasped. “Should you be resting?”

“If I didn’t get out of there, I would’ve gone mad. I’ve been
‘resting’ for days already.” He focused on his coffee, taking a sip.

Oscar bit his lip to stop from asking what happened. Instead,
he used his fork to cut a piece of his cake and slide it into his mouth. The chocolate cake was
delicious, and the reason he always had his supplier make an extra cake so he could take one
home. He counted it as part of his wages. It didn’t help that he had a sweet tooth,
something his Daddy would need to help him with when he had one who stayed longer than
a night.

“What are you thinking about?” Christian asked.

Oscar opened the eyes he hadn’t realised he’d closed and
studied him. Then he stared at his cake, pushing crumbs from one side to the other. He
huffed a laugh. “I was thinking that I needed my Da…” He glanced over his shoulder. “I
needed my Daddy to make sure I didn’t eat too many sweet things. I have something of a
problem.”

Christian laughed. “Working in a cafe is probably not the best
idea.”

“Don’t I know it. I’m sure my trousers are getting tighter by the
day.”

“You look fine to me. I bet being on your feet all day balances
the sweet addiction. I bet it’s not as bad as Henry and George, anyway.”

“Why?”

Christian put his mug down and curled his hands around it.
“Henry loves fudge. Any flavour, any shape. Just fudge. If he had his way, he’d eat it every
day. As for George, his addiction to love heart sweets easily pays a factory worker’s annual
salary.”

Oscar chuckled. “I don’t feel so alone now.”

“You’d fit right in, don’t you worry.”

Oscar’s heart jumped with Christian’s words, though he knew
the prince didn’t mean anything by them. There was no way he would fit in with royalty.

“I will be speaking tomorrow to a couple of people who might
be interested in your…situation,” Christian said. “I will hopefully have more news for you
tomorrow.”

Oscar swallowed hard, ignoring the pang in his stomach when
he thought about someone else being with him. He couldn’t have a prince. “Thank you.” He
drank his coffee, shoving down the feelings his traitorous body was bringing to the
surface.

“What’s wrong?”

Oscar glanced up. “What?”

“You seem sad. Has something happened?”

“No, nothing. I’m okay.”

Christian narrowed his eyes on him, and Oscar fidgeted in his
seat, wanting to make himself smaller. Not because Christian was intimidating, but because
Oscar’s brain was already associating Christian with being a Daddy and someone he didn’t
want to upset. He wanted to be good for him, even though they didn’t have that type of
relationship.

“Oscar?”

He lifted his gaze to where his name had been called, and
Hilary waved for him. He stood. “I have to get back to work. I’m glad you’re okay.” Oscar
stepped away but turned back when Christian said his name softly.

“I’ll find someone. I promise.”

the page for me as well as my readers. Their stories unfold in front of me, and I have very
little input into how they want to be shown. Just like real life, the lives of my characters
change with every choice, every interaction and every conversation. And I wouldn’t have it
any other way.

I write books that are
emotionally realistic, even if liberties are taken with other aspects of my stories. I don’t
know any other way to write. It comes from deep inside.

Who am I? A single parent to
two children who make life worth living. An avid reader who still devours every book she can
get her hands on. A student of learning about any subject that takes her fancy. An author of
books she would read herself. And a romantic at heart who loves anything cheesy.

Blurb

Whether it’s overcoming a twelve-year separation and
trauma, figuring out a complex and confusing identity, or learning to see beyond the surface
to the heart of gold inside,
these three novels and two novellas by Marie Sinclair show how love survives and flourishes even in
the darkest of times.

For Ry and Cart (A Winter’s
Dance
and A Kind of Forever), saying I love you for the first time didn’t work out the way fairy tales told
them it would. Together in college, they are accidentally outed by a photograph taken at an
LGBTQ protest, and separated by Ry’s conservative family. Twelve years later, they’re
reunited, but Cart quickly realizes that Ry is no longer the carefree, sensual lover he knew
when they were younger. Something haunts and torments Ry, making him run from Cart
who has to decide if he’s willing to risk his damaged heart for another chance at
love.

When Jake and Micah met (Nothing
Like a Summer Romance
), there was an
instant connection. The month they spent together during summer break was full of first
times for Micah. First kiss. First love. First time doing drag. He’s pretty sure he wants Jake to
be his first for everything, but Jake’s not so sure he can do a relationship.
Nothing Like Forever charts the ins and outs and ups and downs of the twenty years it takes them to figure
out that Jake is aromantic and that happily ever after doesn’t have to look a certain way.

After an apartment fire leaves Diego homeless, Jake gives
him a place to stay. The only problem, Alex is already living there. In
Forever
After
, Alex and Diego navigate a bumpy road built
from bad first impressions, misunderstandings, and close proximity. When Alex’s 13-year old
comes out as trans and moves across the country to live with him, Alex sees a different side
to queer youth counselor Diego, and the two discover an attraction that burns hotter the
more they get to know each other.

Excerpt

It was four in the morning, and for the first time since Diego
had woken up, the enormity of what had happened washed over him. His home was gone.
Everything he owned except for the clothes on his back and what he had in his go-bag was
likely damaged by smoke and water, even if the fire hadn’t reached his apartment, so all that
was gone as well. He was a small dot in the vastness of San Francisco, and the panic he’d
pushed aside in favor of helping others began to surface.

Where to find an apartment he could afford was a question for
later; Diego’s immediate issue was a place to stay right now. His first thought, of course, was
his family. He was the youngest of five siblings, as well as the only boy, and had countless
uncles and aunts and cousins living in the Bay Area. Any one of them would put him up if he
asked. His parents would be happy to have him move back home. Actually, they’d be ecstatic
to have him under their roof, but his mother would be especially pleased to have him back
where she could express her concern over his love life and try to play matchmaker with
every gay man her friends knew.

Jake was an option, though not a great one. He had two places,
the bungalow on Great Highway and the Victorian he’d inherited from his father in the inner
Richmond. Once the renovation work had been completed back in November, Jake and his
boyfriend, Micah, had moved into the Richmond house, which meant the bungalow was
theoretically perfect. Diego was sure Jake would let him stay in the guest room as long as he
needed, but Diego wasn’t sure how long he couldstay because Alex was already
living there while he did some long overdue renovations on the place.

Diego winced as he remembered hitting on Alex at a friend’s
wedding last summer. The sight of Alex backing into a tray of champagne flutes and the
shatter of glass as they hit the group, not to mention the horrified and angry look on Alex’s
face, was not something Diego wanted to see again. So, no, Diego would not be asking Jake
for a place to stay.

With no other viable options coming to mind, he called Cart,
apologized for waking him, then asked if any of the apartments above the center were
open.

“The resident’s unit is being repainted, and Xave and Ess are
moving in there as soon as it’s ready.” Cart suppressed a yawn. “Sorry. If you can stand the
fumes, it’s got a bed.”

“I’ll open the windows. Thanks, man.” Diego shouldered his
backpack and began walking toward the Castro and the youth center.

“I’d offer our place, but Jen and Stephen are here with the
baby while theirs is being worked on. Try Jake in the morning. Between his two places, he’s
gotta have an extra room.”

“I’ll do that. Thanks,” Diego told him, but he’d figure something
else out. He wouldn’t share a house with someone who hated him if it were the last place on
Earth available to him.

About the Author

Marie Sinclair is a queer
writer living in San Francisco. Though she’s been a writer all her life, it wasn’t until she
stumbled upon MM romance that she knew she’d found a home for herself and all the
characters in her head.

Her focus is on contemporary
romance, usually on the steamy side. While HEAs are guaranteed, it will always take some
work for the couples to get there, and it might not look the way they expected at the
beginning. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Marie believes in rooting her stories in
the real world of queer culture and showing how love can survive even in challenging
times.
