Passion. Impulse. One reckless night that changes everything.

Blurb

Seth has never been known for playing it safe. Restless, thrill-seeking, and a little too comfortable making bad decisions, he dives headfirst into the wilder edges of nightlife—no strings, no feelings, no regrets.

Then he gets an invitation to the infamous Headbangers’ Ball.

Hidden away at a remote farmhouse and hosted by a mysterious local eccentric, the party is the stuff of whispered rumors and dangerous curiosity. Seth goes looking for excitement.

He doesn’t expect to find Caleb.

Caleb is intense, unpredictable, and completely different from the fleeting men Seth usually lets into his bed—and out of his life by morning. Their connection is instant, explosive, and far more real than Seth is ready for.

For the first time, this isn’t just about heat.

It’s about vulnerability.
It’s about risk.
It’s about love.

And Seth has a talent for ruining good things before they have the chance to grow.

When fear, pride, and impulsive choices threaten to destroy what they’re building, Seth must decide: keep running like he always has… or fight for the one man who could actually be forever.

Headbangers’ Ball is Book One in the Tansy Hollow Gay Romance Series — a steamy, emotional MM romance featuring a rebellious hero, an intense first meeting, small-town secrets, and a hard-won happily ever after.

Meet level-headed Caleb and impulsive Seth by getting your copy of Headbangers’ Ball today!

Excerpt

The pizza guy watched as he filled in the tip amount. When Seth handed the slip back to him, he smiled broadly.

“Thanks, man. You just made my night!”

“No problem,” Seth replied. “You brought the food, so I think it was you who made my night.”

The pizza boy looked Seth up and down. “Wish you’d make my night some other way then.” He flashed his big smile, his “come hither” face, and turned away.

As the pizza guy eyed him, Seth suddenly remembered he wasn’t wearing anything except Caleb’s shorts. After all the shit he’d done earlier, being ogled one more time by a stranger didn’t really matter to him. The guy was totally not his type anyway.

Seth closed the door and picked up the pizzas. The small table next to the door was a thoughtful idea, very convenient for deliveries. Seemed like Caleb ordered a lot of food delivery, if his speed dial was any indication.

He brought the pizzas back to Caleb’s man cave, where he plopped down in his spot on the couch. Immediately, he opened a box and grabbed a hot slice. He took a double bite. He hadn’t realized how ravenous he was.

Caleb wasn’t in the room when Seth returned with the pizza. Seth hadn’t noticed his absence until he heard the bottles clinking from across the hall. Caleb appeared in the doorway before Seth could chew up his first bite.

“Mmm, that smells good!”

Seth couldn’t answer. Mouth full.

Caleb set a frosty bottle on the table next to the pizza box. He had another one for himself.

Seth swallowed, grabbed the beer, and swigged down a big gulp.

“Grab a slice,” he said.

“Don’t mind if I do!”

“Try not to get drunk again,” Seth warned. “Nothing good comes from that.” There was a cold seriousness in his voice. The unspoken issue—the elephant in the room—was made vividly clear. Caleb was glad when Seth didn’t mention the specifics.

Caleb sat on the couch next to Seth, lifted the box lid and took a slice for himself. He bit into it. Made an approving gruff “yummy” sound to signal his approval of both the quality of the pie and Seth’s choice of toppings.

They sat on the couch side by side, enjoying the pizza and beer. Caleb got up once to switch the music when Gravehuffer finished. They didn’t say much of anything for a while. They were just two men filling their bellies.

A sub drawn deeper into submission on his Master’s leash—through public use, private service, and every desire in between.

Blurb

It all begins at the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco and then dives into House Slave Fag’s growing submission — from public displays to intimate encounters at a bar, a pool party, and even scenes of service under his Master’s sports team. Intimate, raw, and reverent, it’s not just about what happened — it’s about everything he hoped would happen next in real life. Includes 12 chapters (approx. 125 pages).

Excerpt

When I first began writing about kink, it was with this story. It was back during the COVID-19 pandemic, when I was horny as hell, but couldn’t have physical contact with anyone, while I was sheltering at home with a part of my family.

I call this my lead story, because it is the story that is most closely related to my real life. All of my stories convey my fantasies, but in this one I am simply sharing scenarios I imagined as taking things a few steps further with my real-life Master. Keep in mind that this entire story, which I continue to develop, is based on the premise that my Master has the liberty to enact anything that I dared depict in it.

I was quite nervous about going with my Master to Folsom Street Fair, the world famous kinky event, where they close off a street and practically anything goes. It’s one thing to walk around and see others display their kinks, but it’s something completely different to be entirely exposed and displaying my own kinks to the general public, even if it is in a sort of welcoming or appropriate environment. It is still on the street. People could take photographs of me (although it’s polite to seek permission) and I have a career to worry about. My Master is not unreasonable, and he told me I can wear the leather hood I recently ordered online. It’s thick and it will cover my head from all sides. People will only see my body, shoes and eyes through the holes in the hood, so they’re not likely to be able to identify me, he reassured. I was still worried about it, but I had to agree that he was right.

With that it was settled and I got ready for our outing. He gave me some time in the morning to douche and shower. Then the remote-controlled butt plug went into my butt hole. I locked the metal chastity cage on my dick and returned the spare key to him. I put on a jockstrap with the word slave written on the waistband. He chose for me the shortest gym shorts I had, and of course the “slave” waistband had to be visible on top. On my shoulders I was instructed to wear the harness he had me order online. My collar necklace would be visible under the harness. On top I was allowed to wear a sleeveless hoodie for the car ride, and in case it got colder later in the day. My butt hole vibrated briefly, as he checked it was working through the app on his phone. While it vibrated, it also lit up with changing colors that were visible through the thin garment of my gym shorts.

My Master was standing by the door, dressed in leather pants, a buttoned-down black shirt and a leather tie. “Come over here,” he motioned. “Put my tall leather boots on.”

I got down on my knees and put both of the heavy boots on his athletic legs. I could feel his developed calves as I zipped the boots up. I was starting to get up, but he stopped me.

“Stay there,” he instructed, as he patted my head. “I know you’re nervous about today. Don’t be. Just follow my lead and everything will be fine. I’ll be showing you off to a lot of people, so make me proud. You’ll have the protection of the hood, so don’t worry about being discreet. Now kiss my boots and let’s go,” he instructed.

I leaned forward to kiss his boots, one at a time, taking in the smell of the leather and then I said “thank you, Sir.”

He patted my head again and said “good boy!”. I was filled with pride and let out a purr. With that, I rose to my feet, head down. He gave me his bag to carry and the key to the car. We got out of the apartment and into the car, with me in the driver’s seat and him in the back, as usual. I switched on the radio on a station he liked, playing EDM; put the address he gave me into my phone’s google maps; and we drove off.

One simple act could change your life.

Blurb

One simple act could change your life.

Ian Groden and Taren Murdoch have a good life. Their marriage is solid, and their Dom/sub lifestyle makes for an amazing and extra spicy sex life. Meeting with another man, Kevin, on occasion adds another level of excitement to their marriage.

For Ian, the only thing better than one Dom is two!

Taren loves watching Ian being dominated by Kevin. Ian craves complete submission to Taren when they’re alone again.

Problems arise when Kevin decides he doesn’t want to remain the casual third man. He puts in motion a plan to drive a wedge through Taren and Ian’s relationship, forcing them to fight for each other and their marriage. Can they put their life back together and regain what could be lost?

Excerpt

Taren Murdoch was kind, soft-spoken, and incredibly capable, with broad shoulders and a quick smile. He’d stayed with Ian until his parents arrived, despite Ian’s protests that it wasn’t necessary. Not wanting to let on how frightened he’d been waiting in the cold and dark for help to arrive, Ian tried to brush off the experience. Taren would have none of it and stayed with Ian for the hours it took his parents to make their way to the hospital.

Taren made Ian feel safe. He was darn nice on the eyes, too. They’d started dating not long after and had been married for nearly eight years. Ian loved Taren, heart and soul. Never once did Ian doubt Taren felt the same way.

“You know it’s your choice. You’re in control of this situation. I’m happy either way. Kevin is…a nice distraction from reality. But I love you. I married you. No one, and I mean no one, comes before that.” Taren swept up both cards and tore them up. “It’s great to help you experience something I was able to, but Christ, Ian, if this is going to cause you so much anxiety, I’ll tell him never to contact us again.”

“It’s not making me anxious,” Ian retorted.

Taren laughed and cocked his head to one side. “Boy, please!”

As when he was on the phone, Taren uttering the word, boy, immediately sent Ian into sub role.

Ian’s gaze dropped to the floor, and he studied his toes. “I’ve laid out some choices for you, Sir.”

“Do you want dinner first?”

Ian shook his head. “No, Sir.”

If Taren wanted to eat first, Ian was obligated by their Dom/sub agreement to accommodate his wishes. For Taren, Ian’s needs always came first. Ian had such admiration and respect for Taren in part because he was an amazing protector. Taren always seemed to know exactly what to do for Ian in any circumstance.

“Did you prep, or should I do that?”

“I prepped, Sir, but if you want to inspect for yourself,” Ian offered.

Taren smiled softly. “No need. I was simply checking, boy. Go wait for me at the cross.”

Ian nodded. He wouldn’t speak unless asked a question. Hurrying to their bedroom, Ian stood on the low platform holding the cross. He hung his wrists over the ‘arms’ of the cross and leaned his forehead against the longer vertical piece.

A few minutes later he heard Taren enter the bedroom. Ian turned his head far enough to watch as Taren shed his work clothes and pulled on a pair of lightweight, black linen pants.

Taren sat on the bed and sorted through the toys and equipment Ian had laid out. Ian had to shift his weight and turn his head the other way when Taren moved to their storage area. Taren added a wooden paddle, wrist and ankle restraints, and plastic nipple clamps. All those items joined Ian’s picks on the bed. Taren cleared his throat, and Ian turned back to the cross, leaning his forehead against it and standing straighter.

The first thing Taren did was fit the hood over Ian’s head, sinking him into darkness. The hood was made of thick rubber with openings for his mouth and nostrils. Ian’s sight was completely blacked out, and his hearing was dampened, everything but the loudest noises were muffled. He’d have little or no warning for Taren’s actions.

Taren pulled gently on the rubber, making sure it was positioned properly. He used two fingers under the hood to make sure Ian’s skin wasn’t pinched or his hair pulled. The purpose of the hood was sensory deprivation, not discomfort or pain.

Ian shuddered and gasped when the nipple clamps were snapped into place. Next, Taren crisscrossed the leather straps of Ian’s harness across his chest and back and buckled it securely. The wide, leather wrist and ankle cuffs were positioned and tightened into place.

The only way Ian knew Taren had moved away was the loss of heat from his body against Ian’s back. He felt Taren return, then jumped when Taren used his hands over Ian’s to have him curl his fingers around the cross and hold on. The vibration against Ian’s back when Taren chuckled added to his overall mood of expectation. Taren ran one hand over Ian’s back before reaching around to put pressure on his belly, getting him to take a step back and extend his arms. He gripped Ian’s hips and pulled back, positioning him, so Ian’s legs were slightly spread, and his ass jutted out.

Ian took a few deep breaths, bracing himself for what he knew was coming next.

A freak windstorm. A life-changing accident. An unlikely
helping hand.

After years spent suffering under the weight of his father’s
expectations, Max Castillo-Grant is celebrating his shiny new law degree by drinking,
partying, and bed-hopping around Seattle. Max isn’t stupid—he knows the good times never
last—but if the world’s going to bring him low, he might as well enjoy the high.

Six years ago, a broken heart and a deep loss turned Ben
Greer bitter and reclusive. Formerly the life of the party, he quit his job, rejected his friends,
and hid from the world. Now, he spends his days alone, working on occasional custom
carpentry commissions, with only his dog, Judith, for company.

Two severe weather events conspire to leave Ben in need of
a full-time caretaker for his injuries, and Max in need of a respectable job. Despite a rocky
start, Ben is begrudgingly won over by Max’s good humor, and the two form a lasting
connection. But emotional wounds leave deep scars, and both Ben and Max are damaged.
Can they find a way to heal hurts that go far beyond the physical before it’s too late?

The second book in the Living Situations series,
Bedside Manners is a gay romance featuring an age gap, BDSM, and 4-6 terrible puns about
woodworking. If you like steamy situations, hurt/comfort, and grumpy mountain men, then
you’ll love Ella Fenn’s latest novel.

Excerpt

Ben woke to the disconcerting sensation of a tongue
between his toes. He sat up, yanking his foot away, and faced down the wet-mouthed
perpetrator.

Judith sat back on her haunches and grinned, her tongue
lolling from her lips as she stared at him with brown eyes that radiated canine intelligence.
She was smart enough to know how to get Ben out of bed, at any rate.

“Menace,” Ben said, scowling as he scrubbed a hand
through his hair. “Delinquent. I oughta take you back to the pound.”

Judith gave an impatient yap, her shaggy tail thumping
against the hardwood. Ben glanced at the clock and yawned. “All right, all right. I’m coming.”

He rose, ignoring the way his knees popped and his neck
twinged—forty-five was forty-five—then dressed in his standard flannel and jeans then
navigated the maze of boxes that lay between him and the stairs. eBay purchases, mostly,
things he’d intended to refurbish and sell but never quite got around to dealing with.

Judith led the way downstairs to Ben’s well-stocked kitchen,
where he poured a bowl of kibble for her and got coffee brewing for himself before flipping
on the radio.

“We’ve got a windstorm advisory for Seattle. It’s gonna be a
nasty one out there, folks, so if you’re planning on hiking, maybe reconsider,”
the announcer said as she detailed the day’s weather. A quick
glance out the kitchen windows confirmed her words. The tall pines surrounding Ben’s
isolated property were bending under the wind’s assault.

“Guess we’re staying in the shop today,” he said, more to
himself than to Judith, who was still preoccupied with her food.

Not that staying in was a problem—Ben had been doing it
every day for the better part of five years. There was plenty of gas in the generator and food
in the fridge, so even if the wind blew the power down (which it had been known to do on
occasion), he and Jude could stay tucked up and safe for a good long while. Not forever,
but… well,
forever would be the dream, with unlimited supplies appearing as if by magic.

“Come on, little girl,” he said, patting her head. “You wanna
get to work?”

That got her tail wagging, and Ben grinned. He felt the
same way about the workshop, that welcoming cocoon of sawdust and wood awaiting them
across the drive. Originally, it had been a two-car garage with a mother-in-law suite
overhead, but he’d converted the space into his workshop when he bought the place,
putting up a carport between the buildings to link them. The shop was his sanctum
sanctorum, full of tools he’d inherited from his father and some shiny new toys he’d
purchased to make it perfect.

Judith bounded ahead, eager to get to her favorite
place—favorite bed, favorite toys, favorite box of treats—and Ben followed, cupping one
hand over the top of his mug, the scalding splashes barely registering against the worn
calluses he’d built up over the years. No more than half the coffee remained by the time he
made it to the workshop and opened the side door. Judith, true to form, was already curled
up in her bed, the doggy door Ben had installed years before having allowed her ease of
access.

“Shit,” he said, leaning against the heavy wooden door with
a laugh. “That’s some gale, huh, Dorothy?”

Judith didn’t get the joke. Humor was wasted on canines.
Harrumphing, Ben went to his desk, set his coffee between two precarious-looking piles of
papers, and picked up the leatherbound sketchbook he’d need to continue work on his latest
commission of six dining chairs.

Notebook tucked into his back pocket, he went to his wood
rack, selected a sheet of oak, and eased it out. He whistled along with the wind as he
brought the wood to the table saw that dominated the corner nearest the rack. An ancient
relic, the saw had been his father’s, carefully packed and shipped from Montana after the
old man had died a few years prior.

Ben flipped the switch that powered the table then got to
it, carefully cutting the slab of oak down to size. It was rote work, peaceful in its way, and he
lost himself in the rhythm, heedless of the screaming wind outside… until there came a bang
on the roof so loud it made him jump. That was a mistake, since he’d been damn close to the
blade. The torque of the motor kept chewing through the wood, and when it got to Ben’s
forearm, the saw chewed through that too.

Can being Beau’s
housemate and plaything, transform into forever love?

Blurb

A one-night stand with my housemate wasn’t the best idea,

Beau is unexpectedly everything I want. He respects me
and accepts me the way I am. He takes charge but relinquishes control to me when I feel the
need.

Nothing’s ever simple. He might be the Mister Right I didn’t

from our housemates.

Will he ever want me to be more than his secret
plaything?

Plaything is an
mm D/s romance. It includes sexy role-play, cross-dressing, spanking, breath play, and a
small amount of hurt/comfort. It’s the second book in the

Trigger warning: mentions of drug addiction.

Excerpt

Joey peers at Beau. “I’m not sure Fraser would like you if you were boring.”

Beau grins. “Well, maybe I’m not that boring, then.”

“Do you get on with your twin?”

“Enough to live with him,” I say.

“Yes,” Beau replies. “We’re very close.”

“It must be nice to have a brother or sister,” Joey says wistfully. “It’s just Mum and me.” He
rubs his arms.

“You’ve got Fraser,” Beau points out.

Joey grins at me. “Yeah, I do. He’s amazing.”

My cheeks heat up.

“I know I can rely on Fraser. I can tell him anything. I wish he were my real big brother
sometimes.”

“I’m the next best thing,” I say, ruffling his hair. “And I’m not going anywhere, okay? You will
always be able to count on me.”

Joey hugs me. “Thank you.” The words are muffled as he’s talking into my chest. “Can Fraser
count on you?” he asks Beau.

“Yes.”

Joey purses his lips. “Can I talk to you?” he asks, staring at Beau. “Alone.”

Beau looks at me.

I hold my hands up. “It’s okay with me. I’ll be over here.” I point towards the octopus tank.
I’ll be out of earshot, but I’ll be able to keep my eyes on them both.

It’s not that I don’t trust Beau, but Joey is my responsibility. I stroll away and then turn and
watch them, arms folded. They’re having a serious conversation. Beau is doing lots of
nodding, and Joey is pointing at him in a way that might have been menacing if he wasn’t
such a cute kid. Then Beau puts his hand on his heart and says something with a solemn
expression on his face. That done, Joey waves me back over.

“What was all that about?” I ask.

“Our secret,” Joey says.

Beau puts his arm around my waist and whispers in my ear, “I’ll tell you later.”

I give him a knowing look. I’m pretty sure my little brother just gave my boyfriend the ‘dad’
talk.

Losing himself to the
shadows is not possible, but who can help him learn to live again?

Blurb

Despite being third in line to the throne, George doesn’t
believe he will ever be king, and he is content with that knowledge. He prefers to live his life
in the shadow of his brothers because he can hide his extra-curricular activities there. When

his life is torn apart by grief, he loses himself in those shadows until he focuses on what
matters to him. Love.

More media attention is the last thing Timothy wants. He
left his hometown to get away from it, but his new position makes that almost impossible.
Balancing the requirements of his teaching role, the needs of his new patient, and the
feelings that should never have grown, he struggles to see the right course of action until
the choice is taken away from him.

Stepping back inside the place where Eddie had been
abused by the one person who should’ve taken care of him has been harder than he
expected. Finding someone who is patient enough to help him through his anxieties about a
BDSM relationship is easier. Unfortunately, royal duties threaten to pull them apart before
they’ve even started.

As the three lives intertwine in the unlikeliest of situations,
who will throw themselves into the deep end, and who will back away, scared of the
repercussions?

This is an MMM book containing BDSM scenes and
D/s dynamics in all forms. It also has lots of loving, friendships, family drama and, of course,
a triple HEA.

Excerpt

“Eddie!”

He searched the room for the voice but couldn’t see
anyone until Master George stepped through the parted crowd.

Eddie lowered his head. “Master George.” Eddie’s heart
raced, and he couldn’t contain his smile.

“Clarice didn’t hear from you. Does that mean you’ve
decided not to go ahead with what we talked about?”

Was he supposed to have called her? “Oh, um, I still want
to go ahead with it. I forgot to call her and tell her. I was excited about coming tonight and
didn’t think about calling ahead.”

“Shh. Eddie, breathe. It’s fine.” Master George slipped an
arm around Eddie’s shoulders. “I wanted to go through a contract with you, that’s all. Can
we do that now?”

Eddie didn’t want to read a contract. He wanted Master
George. “Can we do it later?” he asked, eyes still lowered.

Master George was quiet, then a finger curved under his
chin, lifting his head. When he met the vibrant blue eyes, he relaxed.

“Better. Yes, we can do it later, but we must do it if you
want to go ahead.”

“I do, Sir. Definitely.”

Master George smiled. “What would you like to do
tonight?”

Eddie licked his lips. “I’m not really sure.”

“Do you trust me?”

“Implicitly,” Eddie said in a firm voice.

Master George nodded once. “Come on.”

Eddie went with Master George to one of the private
rooms but hesitated at the threshold, even though Master George still had his arm around
him.

“What’s wrong?” Master George stepped in front of him
and cupped his jaw, bringing their gazes together. “Talk to me.”

“This is the room…Master Douglas found me in.” Eddie’s
heart pounded. He knew he’d have to face the room eventually because it was ridiculous to
think a space could have this much of a hold over him.

“Let’s try another room.”

“No! Sir. No.” He stared into Master George’s eyes. “Will
you help me?”

“With anything and everything I can. What do you
need?”

“I want to do it here. I need something good to wash away
the bad memories of this room.”

“Are you sure, Eddie? There is no weakness in not being
ready.”

“I’m sure.” He nodded to emphasise his answer.

Master George stared at him for a long minute, then
nodded in return. He slid his hands into Eddie’s and gripped them hard. “I’m here.” He
stepped backwards, tugging Eddie into the room with him.

Every step had Eddie’s palms sweating and his heart
jumping, but when they finally stopped in the centre of the room, Eddie sighed. He glanced
around, never letting go of Master George’s hands.

About the Author

I am Elouise East but feel free
to call me Elli. I write sweet and steamy connections in gay romance. I also touch on taboo
stories under the name Elouise R East.

Books that tell the stories
where friendship and family are the focal point – be it blood family or chosen – is very
important to me. That’s why I include a variety of personalities, talents, ages, situations and
abilities as I believe a story or a character needs. I want my characters to be real, to be
relatable, to be free to have whatever views they tell me they have. And trust me, most of
the time, I do not have
any say in the matter!

My characters come to life on
the page for me as well as my readers. Their stories unfold in front of me, and I have very
little input into how they want to be shown. Just like real life, the lives of my characters
change with every choice, every interaction and every conversation. And I wouldn’t have it
any other way.

I write books that are
emotionally realistic, even if liberties are taken with other aspects of my stories. I don’t
know any other way to write. It comes from deep inside.

Who am I? A single parent to
two children who make life worth living. An avid reader who still devours every book she can
get her hands on. A student of learning about any subject that takes her fancy. An author of
books she would read herself. And a romantic at heart who loves anything cheesy.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to end up working

adult party changes everything.
Will Hamish order
me to my knees or throw me out?

Hamish

The moment I first set eyes on Archie Morris, he becomes

command me to be theirs, how do I pick? Or can I make them see I’ve enough love for both
of them.

Gabe

Cal, my best friend and a photographer, introduces me to
Blake, a model. From there all bets are off as Blake’s attraction to both of us makes me see
Cal in a whole new light. But will Cal and I be able to step beyond friendship into love when
we both like being in charge?

more, but is a ready made family a step too far for Spence?

Spence

Working crazy shifts at the hospital, I don’t have much time

Excerpt from A is for Aftercare

“You’re struggling to write?” he asks.

He picks up a glass of water and drinks from it. Captivated, I admire the way his full lips
curve around the rim.

“Aye.”

“It’s the book that’s due in a month?”

“Aye.” I groan. “I’ll manage it.”

“How much have you written?”

I shrug. “Not enough. I’m just not feeling the words. I’m sick of Orion. I’d put a bullet
through his head if my publisher let me.” I have no clue why I’m telling him any of this.

“If it helps, I really like Orion.”

I snort. “I’m paying you to be my PA, not kiss my arse.” Not that I have any reason to
disbelieve his love of my character. On the other hand, I wouldn’t be averse to his lips being
pressed against that part of my body—or anywhere else for that matter. I stuff some of the
avocado toast into my mouth. It tastes a bit too good.

“I’m not.” The blush across his cheeks deepens to scarlet. “I’m being honest. I know he’s a
bit surly, but he’s got a kind heart, really.”

I huff. “He’s a crotchety arsehole.”

Archie laughs. The sound reverberates through my body, almost making me want to laugh
along with him. Part of the reason I hate Orion is that he’s too much like me.

“But I’m stuck with him for this book and another one. At least.”

“At least?”

“My contract runs out after that, but knowing my publisher, I’m sure they’ll try to sweet talk
me into signing up to write another three books about the grumpy fucker.”

Archie smothers another laugh behind his hand.

“What?” I demand.

“You don’t strike me as the kind of man who does anything he doesn’t want to.”

I narrow my eyes. What else does he think he’s figured out about me?

“I’m not, but this is different.”

Archie tilts his head. “How?”

I open and close my mouth a couple of times, which probably makes me look like a fish
drowning in air. “My publisher calls the shots,” I say eventually. Self-publishing under a pen
name gives me the creative freedom I crave. Not that I’m going to mention that to my sexy
PA.

“Surely they’ll understand if you tell them you’ve run out of steam? Especially if you pitch
them a fantastic new idea.”

I shake my head.

“I’ve read all your books, sir. You’ve written so many amazing characters. I’m
sure you could come up with a concept that would blow Orion King out of the water.”

I stare at the food on my plate.

“If you could write anything, what would it be?”

Aside from hot, passionate, if unrealistic stories of men falling in love? “I don’t know.”

“You should think about it,” Archie says as if it’s as easy as calling lightning from the sky. “But
right now, you need to find a way to fall back in love with Orion enough to finish this book
and write another.”

“I know,” I grumble.

“Is there anything I can do to help the words flow?” Archie asks.

I jerk my head back. “What?”

That’s not even remotely part of his job description. Then again, it’s only halfway through
his first day, and he’s already made more of a positive impact on me than any of his
predecessors.

“Can I help?”

Be Lee Lawson’s muse. Lie naked on my bed while I write about how glorious you
are.

Blurb

After the Luchesi mafia family betrays him, assassin Mickey Tamerlane joins with gangster Boss Cold to seek revenge. But as they maneuver to take out their enemies and claim control over the city’s underworld, Mickey finds himself distracted by the newest member of Cold’s crew.

Cocky and handsome, Roger Lorre pushes Mickey’s buttons until Mickey pushes back hard.

Hard enough to hurt.

But no matter how well-used and sore he leaves Roger, once isn’t going to be enough for either of them.

Not even close.

Publisher’s Note: Strapped for Cash is a prequel to Cold Hard Cash and Hard Earned Cash. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Excerpt

“Don Luchesi is dead.”

“How?” Mickey blurted out.

“Murdered in his very own home,” Cold replied. “I have been waiting years for the old man to kill himself with a heart attack, but someone else decided to speed his demise along. Though I am grateful, this means that certain plans are going to be put into action much sooner than I expected.”

“The city,” Crybaby said, her eyes wide. “We’re takin’ it. We’re gonna do it.”

“Yes,” Cold confirmed. “With your help, my dear Gentlemen, the city is finally going to be ours.”

“Fuck yeah,” Jules cheered.

“Who killed the Don?” Duncan asked quietly.

“I do not know.” Cold seemed a little annoyed at that fact. “But that will actually end up working to our advantage.”

“How?”

“Because if I don’t know, it means the Luchesis don’t know.” Cold leaned forward, his usually calm face lit up with excitement. “The most likely suspects are his three sons, Cristian, Luigi, and Matteo. The Don had yet to name an heir, and there will most certainly be a struggle for power.”

“The ring,” Mickey recalled. “He didn’t pass on that stupid ring.”

“Precisely,” Cold said. “Matteo was favored to take his father’s place, but his brothers are hungry for it, too. This also works to our advantage.”

“What do we do?” Crybaby asked eagerly. “Kill ‘em?”

“I appreciate the enthusiasm, but no,” Cold drawled. “They’re about to do their own killing, and we’re going to help them right along.” He looked to Mickey. “Do you remember when you were so kind as to discover Tony Luchesi’s nasty theft?”

“Yeah,” Mickey replied. “What about it?”

“Well, it turns out he was stealing that money to help fund Cristian’s future claim to the throne.” Cold pursed his lips. “Such a shame.”

“The bar… it was Luigi’s, wasn’t it?”

“Yes,” Cold confirmed. “Piece by piece, we’re going to turn the three brothers against one another. The family will split apart. Everyone will try to pick a side, and the three darling siblings will each be attempting to make the best case for themselves while valiantly trying to murder the others.”

“Chaos,” Alistair said with a knowing nod. “It’s going to be total and complete chaos.”

“You knew this was going to happen,” Mickey accused. “You knew the Don hadn’t picked an heir and was going to die without one.”

“I knew he was arrogant enough to think he wasn’t going to die anytime soon and foolish enough not to listen to his doctors,” Cold said. “The chances of him dying prematurely without settling his affairs was very likely. I had planned to use his death to propel our takeover of the city. I did not expect, however, for him to be murdered.”

“I call that a fuckin’ bonus.” Jules laughed. “Them stupid ass brothers are gonna be at each other’s fuckin’ throats thinkin’ one of them killed Daddy.”

“So.” Jerry perked up. “What is our first move, Monsieur Cold? What would you have us do?”

“Everything we need is right here under this roof,” Cold replied, offering a coy smile.

“You know we’re in a gay bar, right?” Duncan asked in a loud whisper.

“Yes.” Cold looked irritated. “There is a young man who works here at night as a dancer. He goes by the name ‘Galavant.’ He also washes dishes over at Ragazzi’s.”

“How is a dishwasher gonna help?”

“That restaurant is the Luchesi’s big honey pot,” Jules replied, eyeing Duncan until he cowered. “Galavant is our fuckin’ way in. Payroll for all the drugs, brothels, and illegal type businesses gets banked there.”

“How much?” Mickey asked.

“Millions,” Cold replied, looking very pleased with himself. “The Luchesis are arrogant enough to believe no one would dare steal from them. That arrogance is going to be their undoing. First, we take their money. Next, we’re going to take their drugs. The bouncer here, Reggie? His mother is a maid at one of the hotels the Luchesis run as a brothel. They use the basement there to prepare their product before distribution.”

“So, we’re gonna take their drugs?” Pym perked up.

“No.”

Pym pouted and sank back down in his chair.

“We’re going to tip off the police to the location and allow them to have the glory of the biggest drug bust this city has ever seen. It’s a little gift to our friend Officer Carville for his very timely payments. He’ll look so fetching on the front page. Might even be chief one day. We’re also going to make sure the police’s anonymous source is identified as a member of the Luchesi family.”

“We take out the money, the drugs, okay, but what about the judges? All the politicians?” Crybaby frowned. “We don’t own any of them. We barely own any cops.”

“Never fear,” Cold soothed. “Once the blood starts filling the streets, they’ll come to us. They won’t have a choice. We’re going to be their safe harbor from the storm, you see. They won’t care who’s in charge as long as peace is established. And if not… well.” He smirked slyly. “I have other ways.”

“Okay.” Mickey grinned. “So, when do we start?”

“Soon. You, Jules, and our newest member will be going.” Cold waved to Alistair.

Alistair left his perch on the desk to open the door, gesturing for someone to come in.

Mickey turned to see who it was, and he couldn’t hide his shock.

That son of a bitch…

It was the crazy guy from the gas station.

“This is Roger Lorre,” Cold said. “He is a talented little thief and an expert safecracker. He will be accompanying you to Ragazzi’s. Say hello, Mr. Lorre.”

“Hello, boys,” Roger said, his eyes immediately focusing on Mickey. “Well, hi there. Long time, no see.”

Mickey gritted his teeth.

Cold glanced between them. “Am I to assume you’ve already met Mickey Tamerlane then?”

“Mickey, huh?” Roger grinned crookedly at him, whistling low. “Mm, and aren’t you just so fine.”
