Never Have I Ev… Wait, what was the question again?

What happens when an ill-advised party game makes it
obvious I’ve still got my V-card?

Embarrassment. A lot of embarrassment.

Especially when the sexy, older guy at the party who
witnessed the whole thing turns out to be someone I have to see every week. Not to
mention my best friend’s cousin.

He’s not only straight, but way out of my league.

It’s going to be so awkward for both of us.

Or awesome…if his protective nature and flirty attempts to
teach me how to date lead to the kind of tutoring that lives in my fantasies. But how likely is
that to happen? I’m not known as the sweet, naive one among my friends for
nothing.

I’m probably imagining those looks he throws my way.
Probably projecting my own want onto his expression.

But…what if I’m not?

Never Have I Evan features an inexperienced, shy tech
geek, an assistant football coach who oozes confidence, a town full of quirky, nosy residents,
and sexual awakening and discovery themes!

Excerpt

“Linc was moving fast. His hands were all over you.”

I flushed, remembering the uncomfortable feeling of Linc pressing close. I’d ordered myself
to relax, to try to enjoy the attention.

“Isn’t finding a guy who actually wants to be close to me the point?” I said before I could
properly filter my thoughts. The words came out strangely accusatory.

Dawson didn’t flinch from my words though. He grew even more intense. “No. The idea was
for you to flirt a little and get comfortable with seeing yourself as someone worthy of
attention.”

“Okay…”

“You are, Ev. You deserve someone who will appreciate everything about you,
from your intelligence to your sweet blushes. Not just your…”

“What?”

His voice came out in a whisper. “Your amazing ass.”

My face heated as I laughed. “What?”

Dawson took a second to gather his thoughts. “I kind of pushed you into this, when you
think about it. I didn’t mean to, but… All that teasing about learning to flirt, and me playing
wingman. Maybe…”

“Maybe what?”

He spoke slowly, the words seemingly pulled from somewhere deep inside. “Maybe I was
too invested in your sex life.”

My heart skipped. Was he saying what I thought he was saying?

“Why would you be?”

“I don’t know.” He hesitated, then added, “Say the word and we can leave this idea behind.
You don’t need to lose your virginity. Who cares as long as you’re happy? If or
when you want sex, it’ll happen.”

“But I do want sex!”

I clapped my hand over my mouth, realizing my voice had risen.

Dawson raised an eyebrow. “With Linc?”

I dropped my hand, sighing. “Not really.”

He nodded. “What about with me?”

My breath caught. I stared at him, unable to speak, my brain stuck on his words, sure I’d
misheard him. “Sorry?”

“Do you want to have sex with me?”

I licked my lips, suddenly nervous. “Why would you ask me that? You’re not…into men.”

“Not normally,” he said. “But the thing is, I can’t stop thinking about what happened the
other night.”

“Your body reacted to stimulus, that’s all. It was embarrassing and awkward, but—”

“It wasn’t just that. I mean, thanks for giving me an easy out, but no. I keep thinking about
you, specifically. You and me, and…all the things I could show you.”

Heat washed through me. For once, it wasn’t embarrassment, but something headier. Did
Dawson want me?

“I must be dreaming,” I murmured.

“I don’t want there to be any confusion,” he said. “I’ve never been into guys before, and I
don’t know why this is different. My last relationship ended horribly, and I’m not sure I can
ever date again, can ever have someone trust and rely on me that way. But, uh, we
could…explore things. Together.”

“Sex things?” I said, needing to clarify.

Despite the tense tone of the conversation up to this point, Dawson suddenly smiled at me.
There was a predatory gleam in his eye. “Yeah, Ev. Sex things.”

I expelled a big breath, my head spinning. It was a lot to process. I’d been so certain Dawson
was entirely out of reach—especially after Bonergate. But instead of freaking over his
reaction and trying to stay away from me, he wanted to pull me closer. To explore his
sexuality with me.

It was probably a terrible idea, right? What if he ended up hating it? What if I fell in love
with him while it was just sexual release to him?

But as Dawson Woods, the most gorgeous man I’d ever seen in real life, offered himself to
me, I knew I’d never say no. Dawson checked all my boxes. Even if it was only physical, it
would be incredible to experience it with him. And unlike Linc, or any of those guys on apps,
I knew him. I trusted him.

“Okay,” I said, knowing I might never get a chance like this again. “Yeah.”

If there was emotional fallout, I’d deal with it later.

“Yeah?”

Some sense of preservation made me say, “But you’ve got to kiss me first. I’ve never been
properly kissed, and—”

I want to be sure you’re not turned off by it.

Dawson’s mouth came down on mine before I could finish my sentence.

After quitting his job, Billie Watts hits all the food festivals
he can as he drives across the country. When he finally reaches Stony Brook, Maine, he’s
excited to find he’s there just in time to try one of the lobster rolls he’s heard so much
about. The bright neon yellow food truck with a giant red lobster on top looks like the
perfect place to try it.

Lance Karl is as ready as he can be for the start of the
three-day Tall Ships Festival and hopes to sell enough lobster rolls out of his food truck to
make a good start towards owning a restaurant. The day begins cold and misty, and a text
from his nephew saying he can’t help him is not the perfect start he’d hoped for.

When a green-eyed stranger interrupts his frantic morning,
Lance doesn’t realize meeting Billie will not only change his day, but maybe even the rest of
his life. Two strangers, drawn together over their work ethic, and sealing the deal over
delicious lobster rolls. They could just be the perfect match.

A small-town MM vacation romance.

Excerpt

Not wanting to wait a moment longer, I took a big bite.

It was delicious. Sweet lobster in a light mayonnaise sauce with just a touch of lemon juice
and chives. But the bread, the bread made it, which was saying a lot for a lobster roll. I
wondered if he baked it himself or if he outsourced it, then gave myself a mental slap for
worrying about the business side rather than just enjoying how good the roll was.

I finished eating far too soon and hated I’d only ordered one. As I stood and debated getting
another, I noticed the long line that had formed while I’d been sitting. The guy inside was
rushing around, and from where I stood it didn’t look like he had any hope of filling all the
orders he was about to get.

My feet were in motion before my brain had a chance to catch up. “Need some help?” I
asked as I cracked open the door he’d entered at the side of the truck.

“Are you kidding? Because if you’re kidding, I’m probably gonna hurt you. But if you’re
serious, what are you doing standing there? Put an apron on”—he pointed at the door—
“the order book is right here.” He tossed the order pad and pen at me, as I tied on the apron
I found hung on the door. “Have you worked in a restaurant before?” he asked as he rushed
back to fill the orders he’d just taken.

“Yes, many times. What do you want me to do?”

“Take the orders, I’ll fill them.”

“Got it.” I walked out to the line and asked the people at the front if they’d ordered before I
worked my way toward the end, bragging about how good the food was as I went, and
taking a lot of orders I hoped he’d be able to fill. “You won’t be disappointed, believe me. I

drove all the way out here from California just to try a lobster roll, and I can honestly say it
was totally worth it,” I told whoever would listen as they waited patiently.

Excerpt

St. Augustine, Florida

Miguel storms across the sea of bodies, shoving his way to the bar. He barks his order,
choking back something sweet and citrus. Fists pound in the air as raucous party-goers sway
to the music.

Where’s Mateo? He was supposed to be here.

The bruise on his eye throbs, blood still trickling down his brow from where his foster father,
Felipe, had punched him earlier. He can’t even remember what he did to piss Felipe off. It
started with a few jeers here and there, scathing comments about being a freeloader, then it
ended with Felipe’s fist raining down on him.

Fucking bastard. Miguel knows he shouldn’t have left Valeria alone with him.

It’s all the same shit. Guilt rakes up and down his body, but he pays at the counter, not
bothering to flash his fake ID before he downs his drink.

Shit. No sign of Mateo. Oh, well. He can’t wait forever.

Miguel fights his way through the crowd, desperate to get home soon. It’s late. Valeria will
be worried. That’s enough motivation to keep him moving faster. He’s only about halfway
across the room when he finally loses his patience and shoves into the next person blocking
his path.

The man turns, a deadly glint in his eye as he checks who just pushed him. Miguel glares
back defiantly, the stranger looking barely old enough to be allowed in a club at all.

He’s handsome. Devastatingly so. Miguel’s heart jams in his throat as the man smiles, sleek
and cool. Deadly. A shiver runs down his spine and he banishes it with the hot flood of
disgust that washes through him. This is not the time or place. Valeria, his younger sister, is
waiting for him.

The man’s gaze morphs into something softer, steel melted down with fire. A smirk drags
across his face and he steps closer. His hair is wild auburn curls, his skin ochre like the setting
sun. The stranger’s eyes are a swirling mix of greens, blues, and browns, a smoky hazel. He’s
wearing a neon green sheer top, his pierced nipples flickering in the strobe lights, and his
black skin-tight jeans make his legs look endless.

“Can you back the fuck off?” Miguel tries to say but his voice gets lost in the heavy,
pounding bass. He huffs out a breath and turns to continue elbowing his way through the
crowd. He barely manages a step, when a hand encircles his wrist, the strength in that grip
forcing him to stop.

He whips his head around to look back at the man who is impeding his escape. The fiery
look is still there, as Miguel glowers at him. The man just grins lazily, tugging on his wrist
until he trips forward.

The move causes Miguel to press up against the man, both of his hands splaying across his
chest and his face nearly buried in the crook of the man’s neck. What the fuck? He tries to
wrench himself back, to regain some distance from the man, when the other bends slightly
to brush his lips against the shell of Miguel’s ear.

“Leaving so soon?” His voice is hot and wet against his earlobe. Miguel shivers and he feels
the other man smile. “Dance with me.”

Fuck no. The way their bodies move is not what Miguel would call dancing. It’s too slow to
match the beat of the song. The stranger slots one of his thighs between Miguel’s legs and
presses forward, rolling his hips indecently. Miguel sucks in a sharp breath. With half a mind
to punch the man in the throat, he leans back slightly only to find his movement being

followed as a pair of lips attach themselves to his throat.

Excerpt

We lean back against the counter and talk about random things for a while. It’s nice. I have
some friends but no one I hang out with regularly. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, this
could be just a one time thing, but I like the vibe Kit has, I’m hoping he likes mine too.

“You said you’re from the area?” I ask after a lapse in conversation.

Kit nods, “Yeah, my family all still live close. My siblings helped me move in today.”

“How many siblings do you have?”

He smiles a little, “Two sisters and two brothers. I’m the baby of the family and they all treat
me that way. Never mind that I’m a grown ass man.”

“I think siblings are supposed to do that. I’m one of two. I have an older brother, we’re close
since neither of us talk to our parents anymore. What about you?”

“I’m pretty close to all my siblings. It’s just my dad. Mom passed away when I was eight.”

“Wow. Five kids for one person, did he ever remarry?”

“No. He dated someone for a long time, but they broke up about five years ago. He’s gone
on dates since but says he’s too old for anything serious.”

I scoff. “I don’t think love cares how old you are.”

Kit smiles at me and I ignore the way my heart trips over itself. “That’s what my sisters say,
but I think he’s content. He has us and his grandkids. He’s enjoying his life.”

“Can’t say I blame him. I’d probably be the same.”

Kit looks at me, his dark brown eyes assessing, “Yeah? Believe in love for everyone but
yourself?”

“Ehh,” I make a seesaw motion with my hand. “Yes and no. Would I like to have that one
person I spend the rest of my life with, knowing that they’re it for me? Yes, I
think most people want that. Do I think it’ll happen?” I shrug, “It’s complicated.”

“Trust me,” Kit sighs, “I know all about complications.”

Is it me or are we closer than before? My arm brushes his and I try not to react
like a fucking teenager with their first crush. It’s ridiculous really, the things I feel for this
man that I’ve known an hour.

“Tell me about the neighborhood?” He asks, breaking into my thoughts. “You said the
neighbor on your other side hates you?”

I sigh and ignore how fucking close his mouth suddenly is to mine. We’re almost
the same height, it would be nothing to lean forward and kiss him.

“Uh yeah, she’s a total bitch. I mean, maybe. I think it’s just me. She’s older, in her fifties I’d
say. I try to be nice and do things like mow her yard and take her garbage cans out, things
like that. She glares at me and never shows any appreciation. I can’t tell if she
really hates me or if she is just a really sour person, you know?

“When I first moved in I made cookies, brownies, and muffins for her, the previous owners
of this house, and the people across the street from me. She’s the only one who refused to
take anything from me. Which, I get, it was kinda weird to have this stranger show up with a
bunch of baked goods, but you’d have thought I offered up straight poison the way she
acted.”

“She doesn’t know what she’s missing. More for me.” Kit smiles and I can’t help but smile as
well.

“You’ll have to come into the bakery some time, I’ll give you a discount.”

Kit pouts, “Oh so I only get free stuff at home.”

“Yep. Gotta make that money.”

He huffs out a laugh, “I’d happily pay for anything made by you.”

It’s not my imagination this time. He definitely leaned forward.

“You flatter me,” I hope that didn’t come out as breathless as I think. “What if
the only thing I can make are cookies?”

“I like cookies.” He whispers.

We’re so fucking close.

“Good.”

I don’t know who moves first. One second we’re a breath apart, the next, our lips are
touching in an impossibly soft kiss.

Neither of us move for a moment, and then Kit slowly moves his mouth over mine. I follow
his lead, keeping the kiss soft and slow.

A hand grabs my hip and I groan as our bodies come together. Kit takes that opportunity to
deepen the kiss. His tongue sweeps against my lip and I allow him in my mouth.

Gasping, I fight him for dominance. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt anything this good.
He lets me take control of the kiss and I push him against the counter. Our lower bodies are
flush and I can feel his arousal brushing against mine. Shivering, I press my lips harder to his.
Tangling one hand in his hair, I pull back enough to bite at his lip, making him moan.

“Shit,” he gasps before kissing me hard.

I press my hips into his and groan at the sensation. Kit’s hands grip my ass tightly and it feels
so fucking good. I almost beg him to fuck me, but that’d be reckless. Kissing him is enough
for now.

We pull apart for breath, both of us panting softly. “Just so you know,” I tell him, “I don’t go
around kissing all the neighbors.”

He laughs breathlessly, “That one neighbor might like you if you did.”

I snort and shake my head. “You’re prettier.”

I kiss him again, softer now. Our tongues meet and it’s perfect. Best kiss I’ve ever had. I
could spend hours just kissing this man. Crazy? Absolutely, but it’s not the craziest thing I’ve
done, not by a long shot.

As young men struggling to deal with their paranormal
abilities, Michael and Dane found relief when they found each other. Michael could hear the
dead. Dane could feel them. Together, they seemed the perfect pair. But chasing ghosts is a
demanding lifestyle, and despite their attraction to each other, their tumultuous
experiences drove them apart.

Eight years later, their paths cross again. They’ve been
pitted against each other in a competition to exorcise a ghost from a B&B. Now that
they’re changed men, Dane is determined to win Michael back. But Michael is distracted by
Jericho, a ghost with the face of an angel but with a core of cruelty. A ghost who knows their
deepest, darkest secrets.

Excerpt

His recent encounter with Dane swam across the surface of
his thoughts, disturbing the meniscus.
I’m
willing to forgive if you are
. Michael had been
too shocked by the statement to react to it except defensively, but he considered it now
more thoughtfully. Dane wanted them to try to work it out. Dane regretted their break-up.
Michael knew him too well to believe that forgiveness was the only motivation behind the
come-on. Dane wanted to prove to himself that he could pull from Michael what no one
else had been able to: his undivided attention.

Good for him, but Michael wasn’t sure what
he
wanted. Seeing Dane again, this new version of him, had turned his world on its ear. It was
tempting to dismiss the wild, uncontrollable man Dane had once been. With this change
and with his declaration, Dane demanded to be taken seriously as a romantic partner.

As soon as Michael allowed himself to consider the
possibility, he knew he was in trouble.

Slowly, he lay back on the bed and let his hands flop
naturally. One landed on the mattress beside his hip. The other fell on his upper thigh, near
his slowly filling cock. After a pause and an even briefer debate with himself, he lightly
cupped his palm over the growing mound in his jeans.

He hadn’t taken many lovers after Dane. His longest
relationship had been four months with a parapsychology student who’d begged to become
Michael’s assistant despite him not needing one. But the student, Charles, had been
relentless and Michael, flattered and lonely, had given in, allowing the younger man to
accompany him on a handful of cases. The inevitable had occurred. Just as with Dane and all
the others, Charles grew frustrated with what Michael couldn’t give him.

“I feel like I’m dating someone with mental problems,”
Charles had stated bluntly at the end. “You should look into medication.”

Embarrassed and humiliated, Michael had done so. But the
doctor confirmed what he already knew. ADHD wasn’t his problem. Ghosts were. They
refused to be silent.

“And that hasn’t changed even if Dane has,” he murmured
aloud to the empty room.

His clairaudience gift was stronger than ever and his
interest in paranormal investigation was as intense as it had ever been. He didn’t see how he
and Dane could work it out no matter how badly they wanted to. But for the sake of the
moment, for the sake of pretending at being
normal, he fantasized about them
managing it.

Intimacy between them had never been planned or even
anticipated. Michael carried the blame for that. Though he’d always found Dane attractive,
he’d usually been too preoccupied to act upon that attraction, leaving it up to Dane to
initiate anything.

“Do you really not know?” Dane had asked the first time,
after he’d lost patience and pushed Michael against a door to kiss him deeply. “Why do you
look so surprised?”

“Because I—” Michael hadn’t known how to explain that
his world was multi-layered and he sometimes got caught up in the wrong one. That is, the
one without the living. He’d known even that early into their relationship that Dane
wouldn’t react well to such an admission. “I wasn’t sure how you felt about me.”

“I’ve been chasing you,” Dane had murmured against his
lips before swiping them with his tongue. “How could you have not known?”

Easily, but Michael said only, “I know now.”

novella that explore themes of love, acceptance, and true family.

Surprise Groom: Caleb Taylor is shocked to learn his family could lose Bliss Island
Resort — their home and livelihood — unless he makes use of a clause to marry the child of
investor Louis Chastain. Sofia Chastain is more like a sister than a love interest, and Caleb
isn’t ready to sign over his future. But Sofia has a brother, and Caleb has a plan

Surprise Groom is approximately 90,000
words.

Wrangling A Groom: Wyatt has wanted to
marry Diego since they made a childhood pact, but life got messy and Diego slipped away.
When his first love returns to the ranch for a funeral, Wyatt is determined to win him back
and fulfill the promise that has never left his heart.

Wrangling A Groom is approximately 85,000
words.

Nobody’s Groom: Colby likes everyone —
except the new cowboy on the crew who rubs him the wrong way. TJ is looking for a fresh
start, not a young country boy who provokes him at every turn. They’re both in for a rough
awakening.

Nobody’s Groom is a novella of approximately
38,000 words.

Faking A Groom: When Avery decides to
call his father’s bluff and produce a fiance, his first love, Rory, is the perfect man for the job.
But with a love that never fully faded, not everything is fake…

Faking A Groom is approximately 100,000
words.

All four titles have been published
individually as part of the Marital Bliss series.

Excerpt from Surprise Groom

“So, why did you track me down?” Julien asked before
taking another, larger swallow of coffee. “Must have been important to brave the gay
nightlife of Miami.”

Again, he was straight to the point. Caleb couldn’t
prevaricate in the face of his directness.

“I came to ask you to marry me.”

Julien spit his coffee across the chipped laminate tabletop.
Caleb grabbed a napkin to blot at the puddle while Julien gaped at him, brown droplets
slipping down his chin.

Finally, he swiped a hand over his mouth. “The fuck did you
just say?”

“Just for two years,” Caleb said. “Sorry, I know this is
sudden—”

Julien’s eyes were wide. “You think?”

“I have reasons. This isn’t some creepy stalker
thing.”

“Well, that’s a relief,” Julien said. “I thought you came all
the way to Miami because you were secretly in love with me.”

“No, I …” Caleb caught himself, realizing belatedly that
Julien was being sarcastic. “Okay, funny. Obviously, that’s not the case. It’s a long
story.”

“Probably a story you should have led with.”

Hard to argue with that. “Yeah, I guess your bluntness
rubbed off on me.”

Julien muttered something under his breath.

“What was that?” Caleb asked.

“Nothing.”

Julien shifted, his eyes darting away to study the decor.
There were several portraits of famous singers from the fifties and sixties hanging on the
wall. Caleb recognized Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Patsy Cline. He assumed the diner was named
for Holly’s song, Peggy Sue. There were also several autographed pictures of drag
queens.

Sally returned with two plates of pie and slid them onto the
table. They were perfectly triangular in shape, with a thick white foam overlaying the green
layer. Caleb’s saliva glands activated just from looking at the picture-perfect dessert.

“Anything else?” she asked.

Julien shook his head. “Nope.”

“We’re good, thanks,” Caleb added.

Julien fixed him with another of those challenging looks
once Sally had click-clacked her way back to the front counter. It made Caleb want to squirm
in his seat.

“So you want me to marry you,” he said.

“Yes. For two years.”

“You are aware I have a dick, right?”

“It was hard to miss,” he said.

Julien’s skimpy briefs had barely contained his swaying dick
while he danced at the club. But Caleb didn’t need that image in his head right now. Or ever,
really.

“This got weird.”

Caleb raised an eyebrow. “Just now?”

Julien laughed, a warm tenor that curled around Caleb. It
was a note or two deeper than his laugh had been when they went through their
knock-knock joke phase at age ten. But Caleb recognized it.

“Okay, it’s been weird for a while,” Julien admitted. “But I’ll
bite. Why would I marry you, and why would you want me to?”

Caleb sat back, rubbing a hand over his jaw. Now came the
tough part of selling Julien on his idea. “It would be like a business deal. A job, kind of. I have
a contract we would sign.”

“Okay, that’s … not any less weird,” Julien said.

It’s a tale as old as
time.

Blurb

I’ve crushed on my brother’s best friend since I sprouted
hairs on the unmentionables. Once upon a time, he was straight, until he wasn’t… and talk

about bad timing.

And when we’re finally at a place for me to make my move,
sexy rural firefighter Dan clams up and acts weird and I’m left with pants that are too tight
and my heart feeling bruised… but he’s a good friend and I’m grateful he’s in my life.

Because of course Dan is a good guy.

Though him being “good” and ridiculously easy on the eyes
and possibly the best man I know only makes me want him more.

When we’re thrust into a situation that brings both of us
close to danger, it’s hardly the time to be chasing first kisses or finally acting on my crush.
But Dan doesn’t seem to mind.

I just know that when the stakes are high and emotions are
running wild, sometimes you have to show your hand and go all in.

And that’s exactly what I plan to do.

Excerpt

The squeal of brakes had me exhaling. Any minute now,
he’d be stepping out of my brother’s Toyota. With just a few metres and steel between us, I
had no idea how to react, not with the nervous excitement thrumming in my veins.

The doors opened, and movement caught my attention.
Dan Madison followed after my brother, his eyes already on mine.

His hand tightened around the pack of beers he carried,
and pink coloured his cheeks.

But that was likely my imagination making a much bigger
deal about this reunion than it really was.

Funny, the things you noticed, though. He had new glasses.
They were thicker rimmed than any style I’d seen him wear before. He rocked the whole hot
geek vibe. Killed it, in fact.

Though there was nothing geeky about him in the
traditional sense. Not when he worked with his hands for a living as a carpenter, and I
doubted so much had changed that he wasn’t digitally challenged beyond a game on the
Xbox.

It took everything in me not to allow my gaze to eat him

up.

Two years—however brief on that one-week visit
home—of not working side by side with the man when I talked him into fitting me some
new doors.

Two years of not listening to his addictive laugh that made
me smile so big my face hurt.

And two years since once again, he’d left me disappointed
when he’d waved goodbye and headed back to the city—and his boyfriend—where he’d set
himself up with a new life away from the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Never once had I told him about how I felt, the right time
never seeming to arrive. If I’d known he was gay before he’d left town when he was twenty,
perhaps I would have been more obvious with my crushing. At eighteen, I’d been very
definitely out. But Dan’s sexuality came as a surprise. Craig had dropped that bombshell
when I was in my second year of uni.

And hadn’t that been a kick in the gut, swiftly followed by
elation. For the first time ever, I’d considered that just maybe I had a chance.

The chance never came, though.

There was no point when we lived a couple of hours apart.
Long-distance wasn’t something I thought I could handle, even when it was for my brother’s
best friend, the man who’d snagged a piece of my heart when my balls first dropped and my
dick had thickened watching Gerard Butler in
300.

There was also the fact he’d had a boyfriend.
Had been the exciting word of the day. Almost a year ago, they’d split.

The gravel under his feet grew louder, and his gaze
remained fixed to mine. Barely a metre apart, and he stopped, shifting the six-pack to his
side.

“Hey, Ross.” Pretty light-brown orbs peered back at me,
wide and just as mesmerising as I remembered. “Bloody hell, you’re a sight for sore
eyes.”

I grinned, uncertain of the words that might fall out of my
mouth.

I didn’t need to worry. In Dan’s next breath, he said, “Get
your arse over here already and give me a hug.”

I ignored my brother’s snort as he snagged the beer from
Dan and walked on past us.

A deep exhale escaped my lungs as I stepped forwards and
pulled him into my arms. I wrapped myself around him, holding him tight. The feel of his
large limbs, strong and firm, wrapped around my own frame made my heart sing.

“Good to see you too, mate. About time you made the
move back to civilisation.” My grin remained wide when I eased away, his snort making me
chuckle.

“Civilisation, huh?”

“Yep. You better believe it. You know, a Subway opened in
town, and Bunnings got an extension. Civilisation at its best.”

Dan’s laugh washed over me like a familiar hug, the
sensation warming me, much like the log fire already built in my sitting room did.

“Come on.” I gripped his arms, giving a happy squeeze.
“Let’s go and grab one of those beers.”
