Life as a concubine to the devious Viceroy Abasi isn’t so
bad. Temaj has food, shelter, and every inch of his skin is draped in emeralds. What’s
freedom worth when weighed against the luxury of the palace?

Solon’s dutiful life earned him the rank of army general to
the pharaoh. But when he’s sent on a diplomatic mission to an emerald mine rather than
into battle, he senses the end of his career and a lonely retirement.

Temaj is gifted to Solon for his stay, but the last person
Solon wants in his bed is a slave sent to spy on him—even if he is a gorgeous, silver-tongued
vixen of a man.

Trouble brews when emeralds go missing. With only a
clever concubine and the viceroy’s harem on his side, can Solon solve the mystery and
escape with his life, or are he and Temaj destined to haunt the walls of the palace
forever?

***

Over the Emerald Valley is a gay paranormal romance
full of snarky banter, dangerous secrets, steamy stolen moments and only one bed. It’s a
stand alone novel within the Immortal Jewels series and can be read first or last with no
spoilers, no cliffhangers, and always a happily ever after!

Excerpt

“Ah, fear not.” Abasi raised a bejeweled finger with
a flourish and beckoned forth a new group. “I’m told you prefer men, and I’m nothing if not
accommodating.”

Solon preferred willing partners, not slaves, but he wouldn’t risk
insulting Abasi with his morals.

There was no easy way to get out of this. He’d have
to select one of them.

As the newest line of elegant, supple bodies drew
close, Solon caught the gaze of a tall man who moved with the feline grace of a street cat.
His honey-colored hair hung in long, loose waves over his shoulders, and his pursed lips said
he knew what a gem he was.

That light hair marked him as foreign among all the
black silken tresses of the other concubines. Northern. From distant lands. How did he end
up in an Egyptian harem so far south?

Solon stared. The man wore no paint, no kohl, and
no gaudy decorations, just a simple green linen shift belted at the waist. His beauty needed
no enhancement.

Rather than cast his gaze demurely at the floor, as
the others had done, the blond met Solon’s stare…and winked.

A real smile at such a display of gumption replaced
the fake one on Solon’s lips.

Abasi stood, and a servant bustled to move his
chair out of the way. “Come, have a look. Shall I introduce them?”

Solon followed his host to the line of concubines.
There were fewer men than women, but still quite the selection. Six men and nine women in
total.

“That won’t be necessary.” Solon would prefer to
retire alone for the night, but if he had to pick… “I’ve made my choice.”

Abasi knocked him on the back so hard Solon
nearly stumbled. “I like a man who knows what he wants. Which will it be?”

The blond, without hesitation, stepped forward.
Bold. He peered at Solon through half-lidded eyes, gaze intense, as if daring him to suggest
anyone but himself.

“Him.” Solon gestured to the brazen slave, who
only then deigned to lower his gaze.

“Ah, well chosen. That is Temaj, a beauty from the
north and a wild cat beneath the sheets, or so I’m told. My tastes don’t run toward
men.”

“Then why have them in your harem?” The
question was out of Solon’s mouth before he could think better of asking. Luckily, the viceroy
didn’t seem offended. Rather, the man laughed.

“A proper harem must contain both, dear Solon, for
how else are you to please all your guests?”

Solon would never understand the lives of the rich
or the royal. When he retired from the army, he wanted only a plot of land, a good mule,
decent tools, and, if he was very lucky, perhaps someone to share it with, though he
expected to end up alone.

“How do you want him?” asked Abasi.

Solon cocked his head. “What do you
mean?”

Abasi gestured to Temaj, who stood silently as if he
didn’t mind two men discussing him as if he weren’t there. “How do you want him dressed?
Done up? What are your preferences?”

“Oh. Nothing,” said Solon.

Temaj startled and bestowed on him a glower that
would send a dog’s tail sticking between its legs.

For any chance at love,
they must first be willing to trust.

Blurb

A proud fallen knight, Gentry Patterson likes to take people
under his wing. Gifted with an easygoing nature, he makes friends effortlessly and, thanks to
his love of cooking, often invites his inner circle over for meals. Gentry’s favorite week of the
year is the annual retreat for his race, where he’s reunited with the many friends and
colleagues he’s met through the years. The only thing that would enrich his existence is his
mate, but he has yet to meet him.

Newly resurrected Tobias Kinsler wants to put his training
behind him and make his superiors proud. However, Tobias is struggling. He keeps it to
himself because he lacks people he’s willing to trust. With a mere few months of life under
his belt, Tobias attends the fallen knights’ annual retreat and discovers his other half.

The two men have a sizzling connection from the start and
waste no time binding their souls. Unfortunately, they will soon learn that secrets lurk
beneath their growing friendship, and those secrets fracture the tenuous bond between
them. As they chart an uncertain future, Gentry and Tobias must decide if they’re still willing
to honor Fate.

Excerpt

Toby was staring aimlessly when there was a distant ding of
an elevator. To his shock, his dick went rock hard, and the thick, pungent smell of
honeysuckle filled his nose. His head whipped to the right, and he saw that a brown-haired
man who was probably three or four inches over six feet was stalking toward him.

As the fallen knight moved closer, Toby admired his broad
shoulders and the sexy smile on his handsome face. Within a few feet of Toby, the man’s grin
grew broader, lighting up his hazel eyes. He was Toby’s mate, and Toby was elated, but
frightened.

“Hi, I’m Gentry,” he said as he stopped next to Toby.

“I’m Toby.”

“I’ve always been excited about attending the retreat, but I
had no idea I’d meet my mate here,” Gentry remarked.

Toby loved the light smattering of freckles on his nose and
cheeks. “It’s my first one.”

“You’ll love it. I’ll help make sure of that. The line’s moving,”
Gentry remarked as he snatched Toby’s suitcase from him, flustering the fallen knight who
was so unused to being noticed as anything more than a disaster.

“I feel like I’ve been standing here forever.”

Gentry leaned close, and Toby closed his eyes to better
enjoy the honey and citrus scent of his gift from Fate.

“I got here super early so I could avoid this line,” Gentry
explained.

“I’ll have to remember that in the future.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll remind you.”

The confidence in his voice relaxed Toby, and he grinned at
Gentry. “I’m going to hold you to that.”

“We need to exchange numbers and coordinate our
schedules for the week.”

“I guess you’re okay with the fact that Fate picked us to be
together.”

With a nod, Gentry winked at him.

“You’re gorgeous, and I’ve always wanted a fallen knight for
a mate. You get my job. We already have a ton in common even though we just met. But I
want to learn everything about you. And I do mean everything.”

Although Toby had little sexual experience, Gentry’s flirting
was obvious enough that he couldn’t miss his interest.

“I’d like to tell you everything,” Toby commented softly.

Forcing himself to look away from the pretty hazel eyes,
Toby was somehow unsurprised by the twenty-three in roman numerals on Gentry’s shirt. It
figured that he’d be paired with a possibly ancient and clearly remarkable fallen knight. His
fear intensified, but Toby trusted Fate.

“You’re frowning. You okay?” Gentry asked.

“Yeah, I’m not a fan of lines,” Toby lied.

“Don’t worry, we’ll get you registered and settled
upstairs.”

There was something about the way Gentry had swooped
right in and inserted himself into Toby’s world that appealed to him.

“You’re a protective person, aren’t you?” Toby
asked.

“I do like to feed my friends and help them with whatever
they need.”

Toby shuffled forward again as the line picked up a little
speed and tried to handle the wealth of emotions racing through him. It was imperative that
Toby set aside his issues and focus on how lucky he was. Not only was Gentry handsome, but
he was also clearly interested. His smile didn’t falter, and although they knew nothing about
each other, Gentry’s presence soothed.

“That’s good. I can’t cook.”

“Don’t you worry, I’ll make sure you get to eat like a king.
You’ll have to tell me all your favorites.”

“I’ve discovered that there isn’t much I don’t like, but I love
a good steak.”

“Fate matched us perfectly. I can grill you one to
perfection,” Gentry said.

“Next,” Venerable Knight Roman Calixtus called.

Toby was so lost in staring at Gentry that he hadn’t realized
it was his turn. He fumbled to drag his identification card out of his pocket, and Toby handed
it over to Roman, who greeted him warmly and asked if he required a key to a room in the
hotel.

Gentry leaned close again. “You can share my room if you
want.”

Everything was happening quickly, but Toby was ready to
dive into their relationship . Fate had given him a gift, and Gentry was supposed to be his
perfect match.

Toby grinned. “I’d like that.”

“Are you a bathroom hogger?” Gentry asked.

The Venerable Knight registering Toby looked away from his
computer screen to study the pair when Toby announced he didn’t need a hotel key.

“I don’t think so. I pretty much limit my use to regular
maintenance,” Toby assured Gentry.

“You two are going to share a room?” Roman
asked.

“We just met, but Toby is my mate,” Gentry stated loudly.

Toby loved the confidence in his voice and latched onto it as
a sign that his fear was unnecessary.

Roman smiled. “Congratulations. That’s wonderful.”

“Thanks,” Toby and Gentry said together, which made them
both laugh.

When Kai Richter and Ori Bier met, sparks
flew.

Then a train blew up.

Tracking an organism deadly to not only humans,
but vampires and werewolves alike, brings Kai and Ori into The Vampire Guard. Decades
later, they, along with Operative Team Jack Rabbit, come face to face with the horrors that
same virus produces. Dead bodies are coming back to life, and rational people are becoming
violent and brutal killers.

A massacre is taking place nearly a mile under the
Atlantic Ocean. Two teams of The Vampire Guard are in the thick of it, fighting to
survive.

Excerpt from Endosymbiont

“How do werewolves fit into this grand plan?” Ori asked.
“When we first began chasing Sauer, he was collecting tissue samples and blood from
werewolves too.”

“And humans,” Kai added.

“I’ve been giving that some thought as well,” Lucas began.
“Both vampires and werewolves are more powerful than humans, but in different ways. As a
species each has slightly different skill sets than humans. A werewolf is born, unlike a
vampire. They have strong family and pack ties, so recruiting them as soldiers would likely
fail unless it was something an individual wanted to do. Getting large numbers to join up for
a cause outside a pack would be difficult, if not impossible. Yes, there might be German
packs siding with the Nazis, but there would be an equal number, or more, of packs from
other regions willing to fight on the opposing side. However, if there was a way to
incorporate werewolf attributes to enhance vampires, that would be valuable if the goal
were to create a super soldier.”

“Werewolves have, historically, fought in wars. However, as
a group they fared much better, particularly afterward. Because of their pack system,
soldiers returning from battle have a phenomenal support system. They don’t have the
homelessness and mental health problems many human soldiers do,” Ori chimed in.
“Humans are only now beginning to catch up to werewolf mental health.”

Lucas nodded. “Another desirable quality for a super
soldier. Mental and emotional stability. There’s also the possibility he was hoping to create
more than one generation of super soldiers by incorporating werewolves. I’m starting to
think this guy had a clear idea of what he wanted, but not how to achieve it.”

“And then somewhere along the way in his quest to create
some sort of super soldier, Sauer discovers an organism that can be weaponized,” Jonas
said.

“There’s a gap in the research. A jump from analyzing the
three species to what we’re dealing with now,” Lucas said. “I’m guessing the biological
weapon is still a fairly new idea. Eighty years ago there simply wasn’t the technology to
make this thing useful. However, as a group, scientists are hoarders and packrats. We never
really throw anything away.”

“And once an idea is out there, it never goes away,” Jonas
added and grinned.

“Sauer became a vampire at some point, and I bet it didn’t
take long for him to realize all he had to do was hang around and wait for technology to
catch up to his ideas,” Sophia said. “He might’ve been a horrible and evil man, but he
certainly wasn’t stupid.”

One of the computers started chirping.

“This place is annoying,” Kai grumbled.

Blair wheeled his chair away from the table to the terminal.
“It’s a heat signature. A new one.”

“From where?” Ori demanded. “How would
someone get into this place without us knowing.”

Shaking his head, Blair stared at one of the monitors,
moving the cursor around. He did something that dulled the noise. “Whoever it is, they
didn’t come from outside, they’ve been hiding. There must be pocket areas that aren’t
covered by any sensors.”

“Heat signature, so not a vampire,” Declan said.

Blair nodded. “Too high for human.” He turned to face
them. “The werewolf we couldn’t account for.” He swung back to the computer when it
began making a different noise. “Kruger is in his office, but the werewolf and a human is
heading that way.” Moving to another computer, Blair pressed a few keys on the keyboard
and the quarters Kincade and Madison occupied appeared on one of the other monitors.

Madison was sitting on the side of his bed, reading. It was
obvious by how he yawned and stretched he’d probably only recently woken up. Kincade’s
room was empty.

Blair blinked at the monitor for a few seconds before he
exclaimed, “How the
hell did he get out? The door is locked from the outside.”

“Air vents, or maintenance shafts.” Declan like the others,
was up and moving in seconds.

Porter started issuing orders. “Kai, Declan, Forge, with
Sophia.” He turned to Ori. “You stick with Blair if he has to leave this section.”

Ori nodded. “Yes, sir.”

Blurb

Grady Summerville is facing a slow and agonizing death, but
has come to terms with his disease and doesn’t fear dying. However, fate has other ideas,
presenting him with a future thanks to Max Steele. Grady owes his very life to Max, and as
his health improves, finds himself falling head over heels with his savior.

Max Steele has been forced to leave his pack and everyone
he knows to move to the West Territory to be a blood donor for Grady. He knows it’s the
right thing to do, but it doesn’t mean he has to like it.

As tensions escalate between the two packs, Max finds his
loyalty tested and is torn between following his alpha, or following his heart.

If Max doesn’t make the sacrifice then it will be Grady
making the ultimate sacrifice and paying with his life.

Excerpt

Max couldn’t believe he had Grady in his arms at last. And, oh
my God, the way Grady looked at him with those big green eyes, as if Max was
everything. He’d promised Marrok he’d wait for Grady to make the
decision—not that it was truly a choice at all—that they should be together, and everything
in Grady’s demeanour, in his expression, screamed he was ready. Still, Max hesitated.

“Are you sure this is what you want, Grady?”

Grady nodded, then buried his face against Max’s throat.

Max groaned at the feel of Grady’s tongue against his burning
skin. “I need to hear the words,” he gritted out.

Grady paused, then pulled back, meeting Max’s gaze. “Yes. Yes,
I want this. Yes, I want you.”

That was all Max needed to hear.

He grabbed Grady’s hand and almost dragged him to his
bedroom. He’d waited weeks for this and with each week that passed the draw had only
gotten stronger. Each transfusion had placed him on a sexual knife’s edge, and he’d almost
reached breaking point. The bond between shifters was compelling, and it had been torture
denying what his body was longing to do.

They stopped beside the bed where Max lowered his mouth to
Grady’s once more. The kiss was intense, Grady groaning into his mouth and pushing against
him. Max continued to kiss him, at the same time, fumbling with Grady’s shirt buttons. He
soon had the shirt undone and on the floor, closely followed by Grady’s jeans. He finally
broke their kiss and maneuvered Grady to the edge of the bed and nudged him. Grady took
the hint and sat. Max knelt at his feet and took off his shoes and socks, then pulled the jeans
the out of the way from where they had bunched at Grady’s ankles. Even Grady’s feet were
beautiful—long and slim, with graceful arches. He stroked along one foot, and ran his hand
up Grady’s leg, stopping with his hands on Grady’s knees. He looked up.

Grady met his gaze full on. He was flushed and kiss ravaged, his
lids were hooded, breath coming fast. As Max looked at him, he flashed a small smile. Max
rose on his knees and kissed him again. Will I ever get enough of his kisses?

He ran his hands up Grady’s slim thighs, the light dusting of
hair tickling his palms. He allowed his palms to skim Grady’s sides, chuckling a little when
Grady jerked. Ticklish. Interesting. As his fingertips trailed across Grady’s ribs, he
couldn’t help but note how thin he still was. It gave him momentary pause, but regardless of
his lack of bulk, Max knew Grady now possessed a strength that belied his size.

Grady gripped the sides of his head and Max gave in to the
gentle tug, allowing himself to be drawn into another of those amazing kisses. Grady
reached for his buttons, lips never losing contact, so Max raised his hands and helped.
Together they made quick work of the buttons and Max’s shirt joined Grady’s on the
floor.

Max skirted Grady’s sides again, lowering his hands to the
waistband of Grady’s briefs. He pulled back slightly, the question in his eyes.

Excerpt from book 3

“Come back inside, Cassidy,” he urged. “I don’t know why, but I don’t like the vibes I’m
getting out here tonight.”

Teags intuition is fueled by strong magic, so I take his “vibes”
seriously. I’m pretty good with both intuition and magic myself, and I felt a shiver go down
my back. “There’s something out here,” I murmured, looking down the alley toward the
streetlight at the end and seeing a dark shape in the roadway I had not noticed
before.

“That’s what I’m trying to tell you,” Teag said. “Come
back where it’s safe.”

Wardings protected the old antique shop against
dark magic. Salt and iron lay beneath the sill of every door and window to repel evil, and as
an added protection, sometimes we had a nearly six-hundred-year-old vampire staying in
the secret room in the shop basement. Teag and I both wore protective amulets, and when it
came to defending ourselves, we were no slouches. So when I lingered a moment longer, I
took a calculated risk.

“We need to see what that is,” I said, jerking my
head toward the lump that lay near the far end of the alley. I let my athame slide down
beneath my sleeve into my hand and jangled the old dog collar on my left wrist, smiling as
the ghost of a large dog appeared at my side. Teag muttered something under his breath and
joined me a moment later, carrying a wooden martial arts staff and a wicked
knife.

Together, we advanced on the shape, which lay still
in the dim glow of the distant street light. A mangy cat paced near the body, staying just out
of reach as we approached, even though Bo’s ghost growled and stepped toward it. If the cat
could see Bo, the ghost dog didn’t intimidate him. I paid attention to what my senses were
telling me, shivering at the resonance something evil left in its wake. Yet the closer we got to
the thing in the road, the more certain I became that the threat itself had come and
gone.

Even with Fate’s blessing,
there are no guarantees in life or love.

Blurb

Skeleton Lord Brynnius Daray is happiest when he’s
wielding his daggers or elbow deep in flour, baking some wondrous treat. As an elite
assassin, Brynnius spends his days protecting the Council of Sorcery and Shifters, and his
evenings are for family. The Darays are lively and dedicated, and Brynnius loves them

fiercely. However, at night he is alone, and Brynnius yearns for his mate.

Having been recently resurrected, Samson is desperate to
prove his worth as a fallen knight. The trouble is, Samson is part of a ground-breaking
experiment—and the new spell is flawed. Or perhaps it is the man himself that has issues.
While Samson struggles to understand his purpose, he learns that Brynnius is the other half
of his soul.

Although Fate has brought them together, neither man is
sure what the future holds. To figure it out, they must confront the past and reconcile their
present. Just when Samson and Brynnius finally find common ground, the world intrudes.
Nothing will ever be the same for the Darays.

Excerpt

Brynnius loved his job, and he had a wonderful family and a
beautiful home, which he shared with the rest of the Darays. When he wasn’t fighting crime
or combing through Council bills to aid Alaric in voting appropriately, Brynnius was baking. If
there was a recipe for something sweet or delicious, the sentinel wanted to hunt for the
ingredients.

Around him, the Darays and his larger extended family,
known as D’Vaire, praised his baked treats, which gave Brynnius the confidence to continue
to make them yummy things. It was fun to travel around the world to grab things
unavailable within the Council, and Brynnius liked surprising everyone with novel treats.

Brynnius was pondering whether to make the blackcurrant
tarts he’d recently found a recipe for when he pulled open the door to the resurrection
room inside the shared training center that belonged to the fallen knights and
sentinels.

The moment Brynnius crossed the threshold, his entire
body went haywire. As a sentinel, Brynnius lacked sexuality, and had no concept of outer
beauty, so his dick growing hard stunned him. It was a sensation foreign to Brynnius, yet it
wasn’t unpleasant.

His mind was overloaded with the terrific smell—a mixture
of vanilla cupcakes and cinnamon coffeecake. At the end of the hall, Brynnius spied
Venerable Knight Arvandus Ruarc-Daray—a member of his family and the only man to be
permanently resurrected twice.

Next to Arvandus was a stranger with a head full of glossy,
gorgeous black curls. He was built on a massive scale. As they moved closer, Brynnius
wondered if the stranger’s shoulders were even broader than his own. Although he wanted
to get closer to the stranger, there was too much chaos in Brynnius’s mind for him to move.
The man at Arvandus’s side was Brynnius’s mate, and Brynnius had no idea what to do.

A beautiful smile crossed the man’s face, and there was a
confused curiosity in his gaze. Since the man was freshly resurrected, Brynnius doubted he
understood their connection or felt the same clamoring inside himself.

“Fallen Knight, Rank One Samson, this is Skeleton Lord
Brynnius Daray,” Arvandus said with a flash of his oft-used grin.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Skeleton Lord. I apologize that
I don’t have a last name yet to give you. The Arch Lich wishes to honor my dragon and needs
to speak to the Emperors in order to decide how best to do that.”

“The pleasure is mine, Samson,” Brynnius remarked softly
and offered him a nod.

Sentinels did not touch strangers, though Brynnius readily
admitted to himself that he wanted to be close to Samson. It would have to wait. The fallen
knight was unsteady on his feet, so Brynnius didn’t want to keep him in the hall, despite his
innate desire to know everything about him and not leave his side.

“Are you on the way to your room?” Brynnius
asked.

“Yes, VK Arvandus told me to pick the one closest to the
cafeteria.”

That was no surprise to Brynnius; he was aware Arvandus
always offered that favored space to the first recruit. Flustered, Brynnius was unsure if he’d
remembered to offer Samson a traditional sentinel nod in greeting, so he bobbed his head.

“Good choice. Good luck with your training,” he
said.

“Thank you, Skeleton Lord.”

“See ya later, Brynn,” Arvandus remarked.

They turned the corner toward the dormitories, and
Brynnius smiled at Samson, who turned back twice. The fallen knight might not understand
their connection yet, but Brynnius was bolstered by his interest. It’d help him get through
the next eight weeks, since Brynnius couldn’t be with Samson until he graduated.

Brynnius was determined to allow Samson to train without
distractions as Reverent Knight Drystan had allowed his mate to do when he was
resurrected. But unlike Drystan, Brynnius intended to tell no one about his encounter with
Samson. The last thing Brynnius wanted to do was keep his family on pins and needles with
excitement over the next two months.

After Samson was discharged from the Ascension Center,
Brynnius would finally be able to talk to him again, and they’d be able to start their journey
as mates. Until then, Brynnius planned on reflecting often on the extraordinarily handsome
man with the unique eyes, and preparing for their future.

Blurb

Newlyweds Sloane and Loch are eagerly expecting their
first child, though for Sloane that excitement is tempered by pregnancy side effects. Carrying
a god’s baby would be enough to deal with, especially with the whole accelerated gestation

thing, but it’s not like Sloane can take maternity leave. He works for himself as a private
investigator. Which leads him to his next case.

At least this strange new mystery distracts him from the
stress of constant puking.

When two priests are murdered within hours of each other,
a woman named Daphne hires Sloane and Loch to track down the prime suspect—her
brother—before the police do. Between untangling a conspiracy of lies and greed, going
toe-to-toe with a gangster, and stealing a cat, they hardly have time to decorate a
nursery….

Excerpt

Sloane Beaumont had known and persevered through
many hardships: the death of his parents, losing his job as a detective, and the struggle of
establishing his own private investigation business.

Oh, and saving the world from ancient murderous eldritch
gods who wanted to awaken their even more murderous father and destroy all of humanity,
of course.

He was a fighter, a warrior, a Starkiller amongst
mortals.

It was hard to believe he was being beaten by morning
sickness.

Then again, it was crazy enough dealing with the fact he
even had it to begin with, since men usually couldn’t get pregnant. Most men, however,
weren’t married to a very well-meaning but ultimately irresponsible god.

“You are the most beautiful creature in all of the universe,”
Loch was soothing. “Even when you are depositing your stomach contents into the porcelain
bowl, you are stunning, my sweet mate.”

“Oh, by the gods.” Sloane groaned and rested his head
against the toilet seat. “That’s very nice. And very gross. Thank you.”

“Here, my love.” Loch presented him with a slitted tentacle,
the tip ghosting over Sloane’s lips.

“Thanks.” Sloane lightly sucked on the tentacle, closing his
eyes as a rush of sweet liquid flooded his mouth. It was the divine nectar of a god, easing his
nausea and the cramps in his stomach immediately.

It was also technically Loch’s come.

Though it was sort of weird to drink it so casually, it had
incredible healing properties, and Sloane could use all the help he could get right
now.

Carrying the child of an ancient god was turning out to be a
real pain in the ass.

“I don’t understand,” Sloane grumbled as he got up to
wash his face. “The first three months were great. Solved some cases, went apartment
hunting, got the one with the extra bedroom I liked, got everything packed and moved, no
problems. Not a one! Awesome. I didn’t get sick, I felt wonderful, I was happy. And now….”
He threw up his hands. “This!”

“I’m sorry, my sweet Starkiller.” Loch frowned. “Gods don’t
usually spawn with mortals. I’m not sure exactly what we should expect with this
pregnancy.”

“What happens with the gods?” Sloane dried off with a
towel. “There’s not much written about the actual spawning. Just that, you know, some of
you choose to do it by yourselves whenever you want.”

“It can vary. Many gods mate and one will carry a spawn for
nine months exactly as mortals do. The triplets, Eb, Ebb, and Ebbeth, on the other hand,
were spawned directly from Baub’s breast with a mere thought. My half-sister, Chandraleth?
Salgumel carried her for a hundred years before giving birth.”

Sloane paled. “I might be pregnant for a hundred
years?”

“No!” Loch paused. “Probably not. It’s unlikely. You could
always lay an egg instead of giving live birth. I think one of my uncles did that.”

Groaning, Sloane dragged himself into their bedroom. “By
all the gods, I’ll be in a nursing home by the time I’m having our egg baby!”

Loch was right behind him and gently swept him up in a
tentacle-filled embrace.

The touch of Loch’s true flesh was always wonderful and
flooded Sloane’s entire body with a rush of sweet warmth. It was the touch of a divine
being, and it was without comparison. Even so, Sloane’s thoughts were determined to make
him miserable.

“Two words,” Sloane grumbled. “Egg baby.”

“My sweet Starkiller, all will be well,” Loch promised,

kissing Sloane’s hands. “My family will be visiting soon for your Neun Monde celebration.
My mother is the goddess of fertility! If anyone can help us with your pregnancy, it is
she.”

“Yeah, but my ‘Neun Monde’ might not be nine months! It
might be a century! When are we supposed to have it?”

“I am not qualified to answer that.”

“Is there any way you could maybe call your mom now?
Maybe she can hook me up with one of her blessings?”

“I can call my sister. She always hears me. I’ll let her know
to bring Mother as soon as possible so we can take care of you.”

“Thank you.” Sloane sighed in relief. “There, now I feel
better.”

“Really?” Loch beamed.

“Yes.” Sloane kissed him. “I love you.”

“And I love you, my beautiful mate.”
